POST OP BRA, How Long Did You Wear It??

I think the post op bra becomes like your blanky lol. Kinda gives me comfort.
  2. 2 points
Hi Girls - so good to find this thread! Put me on the list please - I'm in Adelaide with Dr Kollias on Aug 13. 330cc, teardrop, dual plane…..hoping like hell that gets the look I want. Currently barely a B and hoping to be C or small D. Haven't told anyone other than hubby and my best friend - both beautifully supportive so I feel blessed. Won't be telling anyone else. Wear padded bras all the time so no-one should notice. Only thing is keeping it from my three kids!!! If they find out it's spread like wildfire. In terms of preparing….I'm coating my little boobies in Bio-oil each night in hope it reduces risk of stretch marks. Emmalouise - you're a week before me with Dr K (I notice you're not on the list so need to be added). Would love to hear how you go. Been wanting this for decades….can't believe it's finally about to happen. xxx

    August 2016 BA Roll Call!

HI @Muffin87, just another thing to consider re the sizing (besides your chest width etc) is that the cc's are basically equivalent to mls so think of a can of coke, a 250cc implant and a 300cc implant sound like a huge difference but realistically thats only 50ml you measure 50ml out thats just a little more than a shot (a shot is 30ml i think) so really your only adding a shot to each implant, and when that is spread out throughout the whole implant then its not going to make a huge difference. I have read a few plastic surgeons say, to make a difference in size of implants you need to go 150-200 plus cc bigger to go up a cup size. I find most women achieve a full C to a small D with 295-350 cc, so if you PS suggested 215cc to get you a C cup and you have a smaller chest size, that sounds about right! Don't stress I'm sure he knows what he is doing.. but voice your concerns to him and I'm sure he will help settle your nerves good luck!

@Muffin87 another girl on here sent me this when I was freaking out about 450cc. It's a good explanation of how the sizing works I think if you wanted to consider bigger.

    August 2016 BA Roll Call!

@vlh76 I'm next Thursday too and not too nervous but for some reason the thought of them inserting the implant using the funnel is completely freaking me out haha. Even now writing this it's making me squirm. I keep imagining the funnel is going to tear the incision lol which I'm well aware it won't but my mind keeps creeping back to the thought. I had a dream the other night of waking up and my chest being so tight and heavy and it was really distressing in my dream so hopefully it's not that distressing in reality. When I woke up my arms were resting on my chest though so it may have been from that and that's why the weight felt so real in my dream.

    August 2016 BA Roll Call!

I mentioned to my boss yesterday I was having a week off for a operation and for a couple of weeks after I can't do any lifting or taking flights of stairs,I'll pretty much be contained to the office (I work in a hotel security department) he was totally fine and said they don't have to know what I've had done as its my business their concern is that I'm on suitable duties.hes a lovely man and said whatever we discuss is confidential and my other work colleagues ( who are all boys) won't even know. Feel relieved he knows so the first few days back he understands if I can't do certain jobs. havnt had any weird boob dreams yet but I reckon everyone's going to wake up properly from after the op and be like wtf happened to my chest Hahah 😜

    Tony Connell Girls :)

I had complications after my revision with Tony being that my left refused to drop and my right dropped too much and was bigger. He worked with me to make me happy and I had more than one surgical option. He also waived his fee. I was charged the scheduled Medicare fee which was fully claimable. No matter how good someone is I do agree no one is 100% perfect sometimes it's just our bodies but it's how your ps handles these issues that's important. He did everything he could to make me happy but for me pregnancy ruined them. That's why I'm having a revision after this second baby comes.

2 months and 20 days until boobs, I honestly can't wait. My surgeon has been on this show beauty and the beach in NZ and it's been nice to see him do a few BA's, he seems really nice. I booked my flights to phuket with a friend as me and my partner split over a month ago. But I seriously cannot wait, revenge boobs

I also read that thread of the girl not happy... I think there is a lot more to it in terms of how she sees her own body.. I personally thought she looked amazing and that her complaints would resolve themselves as part of the healing process. Shame that it became a thread which has created some unnecessary doubt in other members!! It is also sad that one person's experience can be potentially damaging to a surgeon given that from what I understand she has yet to give Tony an opportunity to make her happy with her results or to even allow her body to heal and settle into shape... No surgery or surgeon is going to be 100% perfect first time (and what is perfect anyway when we are all getting surgery because we have exisiting flaws), and if your first surgery is spot on then that is half your luck. My understanding is min 25% of all surgeries require revision of some sort. And then the percentage of the revision requiring revision is even higher again... Something to think about.. The best thing anyone can do is communicate as best you can with your surgeon your desired results and take away his/her answers and have further consults until you are clear that you're both on the same page. Understand the risks and drop your expectations...

    Best breast surgeon in brisbane?

Please stay away from brazillians. They are horrible implants. They have a polyurethane coating which makes them stick like velcro. What they don't tell you is that the polyurethane coating breaks down in your body over a period of up to 2 years, leaving you with 'normal' implants after that time. Your poor body has to process the polyurethane coating which, when it starts to break down becomes a yellow, sticky, gooey mess. I know this because I last year I firstly had round brazillians put in. They looked HIDEOUS, I looked like a freak. Two weeks later the PS who'd done them agreed that they didn't look right on me and a week later replaced them with anatomical brazillians, promising a better result. Nope! Although they weren't as freakish as the rounds they were still ugly, embarrassing and just plain horrible. Fast forward 6 months, no improvement and every tie I looked in the mirror I cried. Went to another PS who told me the brazillians were a gimmick and he hated them. Took them out and replaced them with Allergan Natrelles. From Day 1, completely different, soft, natural, beautiful shape, I felt like a human being again!!! I saw photos of the brazillians he had taken out of me. He told me they were really, really hard to get out because the sticky goo adheres to your natural breat tissue and they have to be cut out. I saw first hand the mess they made - a yellow, sticky, glue like substance everywhere. If you have to have the brazillians out at any time for any reason between 6 months and 2 years they will need to be cut out of you and you will likely lose a lot of breast tissue. Yes, brazillians are firmer to start with and some girls like that look, while others wait patiently for them to drop into a "normal" place. When the polyurethane coating breaks down you're left with regular implants and all that disgusting gunk inside your body. There'll be plenty of people on here who will no doubt criticise what I've said and swear that they love their brazillians and that's fine. This is just my first hand experience of them and I will always warn people so that they (hopefully) don't have to go through what I, and a lot of other girls on here, have had to. Good luck with your decision x

Tony was Brilliant!! Go with his recommendation for size!! I've learnt that from experience. I was thinking from looking at pictures that I liked 415cc he took my measurements and recommend 485cc which I was a bit freaked they'd be huge!! Nope perfect for my frame😊 I also went rounds based on his recommendation as I'm a Crossfiter and gym junkie and we didn't want the risk or worry of rotation. But they look so natural. I'll attach some pic's. About a week PO About 2 weeks. Still quite high. 24 days PO

    Exciting news

I have mentioned it but for those who don't know I just wanted to let you know that I'm pregnant with my second child. I'm 7 weeks tomorrow and I have my dating scan next week as when I went in I was too early and all we could see was a sac. No one told me to wait until 6 - 8 weeks so I just booked the next convenient appointment and went in, oops. Lots of nausea, heartburn and non stop burping which is so unlike me. I'm nervous for my scan because I just want everything to be ok. Am trying to keep busy until then.

    Scared I'm going too small?

I'm having surgery next Saturday on the 6th of August, and I know it's too late to change my mind because my surgeon has already ordered the implants but.. I'm really worried that 365cc HP dual plane is going to be way too small for being 173cm tall and 65kg. I'm stressing out looking through everyone's photos again and their stats and girls shorter and skinner are getting 400+cc with awesome results. I'm literally not even a A cup at the moment and want to achieve a full D.. So unsure whether 365 will get me to that or not 😭 Anyone with the same or very similar stats to me??

Too small for ur stats, Sorry. Depending on ur BWD ofcourse. Don't feel that it's too late to call and let them know what u want, the only thing that matters here is ur end results and that u are happy.

    Scared I'm going too small?

Yes, totally! Especially when people say that you lose 50cc going under the muscle, and then I see photos of people trying on sizers, and then the actual size once in, and that always seems to look smaller?! It's SO hard to know. I am also trying to aim for a full D, but I wouldn't be unhappy landing somewhere between a D, DD, or even E. I think I might need to go closer to 500cc to get to that :-/ At the end of the day, i'll be sadder if I'm too small, vs too big, but I need to take my lifestyle into account, (running, weights, my professional life, etc). I never thought sizing would be this hard.

Whilst this is a public forum and we're all here to share our experiences I think we should also be mindful that Tony is not here to 'defend' himself. ive not had 'easy street' with my boobs but I can wholeheartedly say Tony has been nothing but honest with me and more than willing to help get my desired outcome. He has had to bring me back down to reality and explain that the photos I'm showing of my 'dream boobs' aren't realistic. I constantly need to remind myself that I come from completely different circumstances to the girls I've shown him and it would be unethical of him if he told me he could achieve that result. I think we all need to trust our gut instincts, read reviews and ultimately choose who you most feel at ease with and if you have an issue, take it up with your surgeon and let him/her have the opportunity to correct the problem (if there is one). ** im not taking sides - we all have our own emotional needs and baggage, we just need to support each other through this journey.

I'm sorry you are still not happy with your results. As I said on your original thread I really do think they look amazing (along with so many other commenters) and feel you're over obsessing with them. You went in to also get nerve pain corrected (if I'm not wrong?), which he did correct by lowering the implants no?, just because the implant is now only .3cm shorter does not mean he did not lower the pocket, possibly not visible to your eye but if it corrected the nerve pain then to me he did the job you asked him? Maybe there was a reason why the projection was different, did you ask him? Each time I have gone under I was aware of three possible sized implants he would use, and gave him the okay for whichever sizer fit for him to go with that sized implant, (there are only so many different combos of implants maybe by having it slightly shorter meant the projection was slightly higher?) This does not mean he just did as he pleased whilst I was under, I was aware of the options.. he also has worked like this with three of my friends (all over the moon with their results). What I don't like about your original thread is to me it felt like you were painting him in an trustworthy light which does not sit well with me. As a patient of his for almost three years now and having referred so many friends to him I can assure you that he is genuine, honest and wholeheartedly concerned to give all his patients the best results possible. Without having seen your before photos I feel your after photos with Tony look amazing, the shadowing on the side was the only thing I noticed which I felt would over time go away or could be fixed with fat graft (looks like muscle fold as you are so thin it doesn't hide it well). I am tiny also and have been made aware (repeatedly) that I risk having visible rippling esp if I was to lose anymore weight. It's not to say I lose weight and come on the forum and complain the surgeon gave me rippling.. I do agree with you when you said you felt your expectations were too high.. I agree with that. Your results are amazing and so many members would love for your results. I think you are being way to hard on yourself, and honestly no matter what Tony does I feel you'll be looking for another fault.

I'm going with Dr Stradwick and they said it would very very rare that I would have drains. I'm getting so excited now. I'm pretty sure I'm going with 410's. (had the option of 370) I just want the time to hurry up! I have the countdown on my phone but it makes it feel so slow! I also bought another post op bra from my surgeon so I have a white and black to swap between. Figured I could see whats comfortable post op. And I bought frozen peas. Still need to get a U Pillow. But thats about all I'm prepping for.

@Muffin87 absolutely agree with what @Natty11 I was going to say the same actually 😉 If you are concerned an additional 50cc on top of your 215cc would not be a huge difference I just know from experience and for me initially was going with 380cc and last minute changes to 475cc and I was glad I did as I am now 10E or a 12D depending on bra make

My friend has nagor implants with Dr M but this was a few years ago. She isn't happy with her boobs anymore and is getting them redone soon. She had the internal bra but it isn't permanent. I think the stitches dissolve at about 12 months post op. Maybe Dr M only uses the mentor implants now. This is what I have and they are great. I don't think a proper internal bra (I.e with the permanent barbed sutures) are common for standard breast augmentations. I have this kind of internal bra but I was a revision case and it didn't hurt anymore then the initial surgery.

Mine is basically exactly the same as above except I live central Queensland so about 8 hours from the goldy. Cosmeditour & Breast Academy were great to deal with & so easy to do everything via phone & email. Saw the surgeon on the Thursday so select sizes & had surgery following day. I'm now 4 weeks Po & love them, so happy with the whole process.

I have like 1.5 weeks to go and I'm having dreams about it every night (sometimes nightmares that involve me getting out of surgery and everyone constantly bumping me in the front!) so I think it means I am nervous. I travelled to the gold coast from Melbourne. the process was really simple everything was done over the phone and through emails. They reviewed my boobs for surgery though pictures I sent them and the surgeon came back with a recommendation for me. I flew up on a Tuesday (a few days early to do the theme parks hehe) and had a consult that thursday with the surgeon. He pretty much stuck to his original recommendation with the round implants but we discussed the size any everything and did the vectra. I also had the option of teardrop. My surgery was the next day and my follow up appointment was that monday when we said I was ok to fly home. I flew home on the Tuesday and everything was fine. Was a 1 week trip all up for me but it could have been like a 5 day trip if I wanted. Dont be worried about not seeing the surgeon before hand. They go through everything really thoroughly at the consultation Hope that helps. Happy to answer any questions if you need!

Hi Cassandra, I had my initial BBA done in 2006 after my first 2 babies were born, I had no breast tissue as was around 58kg, I had 350cc round implants put in under the muscle. I have subsequently had 2 more babies, in which I have breastfed both with no dramas for 12 months each. My body has changed from 58kg to a massive 78kg during pregnancy and now 2 years on, I am back to a athletic 63kg. My breasts and body has changed significantly over the last 10 years, I have stretched, reduced, hardened, softened, etc. Through out this entire time, my fabulous breasts have stayed pretty darn good for a mother of 4 who is almost 40! I am booked for revision BBA on 11th August with Mr Rahdon in Geelong. I have a little excess skin but was so pleased to hear I do not need a lift, Mr Rahdon is going to use a larger size anatomical implant to 'fill out' the excess skin. As soon as I work out how to upload my photos I will show 2006 pre op and post op pics and then 2016 pre op. My suggestion is don't wait - do it now, enjoy them now, just be open minded that a revision may be required down the track when your family is complete. Stay tuned for the pics.

Hi Hun. Tony is amazing. A true master at his craft. Trust him what he stays as it it true (measurements etc and chest wall shape determine final outcome) I have a wide chest 12.5cm breast width. So needed revision for wider implants as the max he could fit first surgery we not big enough. Had revision yesterday and I'm over the moon already. Still show him photos of what you hope to look like, he will tell you everyone is different so different outcome blah blah but least he will know the shape you're after... I never did this and we went teardrops first time.. I got him to change for rounds at revision as that is the shape of my desired result. He will come see you right after surgery as you wake up to whisper it went well, then comes and sees you the following day before discharge, you then go back to see him a week later at his rooms. And then from memory 3month and 6month later. His is placement is dual plane (half under half not). He does like teardrops mostly but def does rounds so don't let others say he only does naturally looking, I have a more augmented look and he was very happy to do that. I haven't added any photos but send me a FR as I plan to share before/after pics of both first (teardrops) and revision (rounds). Here is me an hour after revision yesterday.

    Revision tomorrow and scared....

Thanks for all the love ladies. It went amazing and so far next to no pain unlike my first surgery which I had so much muscle stretch. Joel never used not phone this time also so no vomiting and nausea when I woke up (double plus). I have drain tubes this time (think as he has to dissect a different pocket you must bleed a touch more?) and already filled 60ml... I can already tell I'm in love with this set. I no longer have the wide gap (he could not ft this large last time, he did try but it needed to be don't in stages). The shape is spot on pre drop and fluff as I can see that upper curve that I couldn't get with the ultra high projection teardrop.. Have gone high projection round but the projection in both sets is the same (6cm) as I was happy with that... Just a lot wider by .75cm each implant. Tony is amazing, he knows his stuff and I was aware that it was a high percentage of revision (25%) to get just the right implant for me... I'm sure he would love to be a mind reader for all us girls ha! Poor guy. Love him to bits even though he thinks I'm nuts for even changing the first set. I'll add private photos of both surgeries at some stage just need to crop out my face bahaha

Last year, after a long time researching breast augmentation and consulting with a number of well reputable surgeons, I went through with my first breast augmentation with Craig Rubinstein. My consult with him and his nurse were really thorough which is ultimately why I went with him. I will note, unbeknown to me prior to my consults (because I think I had a good rack, albeit small and deflated from exercise), I had a small amount of droop and one nipple was a little lower than the other. But three surgeons all told me I didn’t need a lift. I ended up getting my implants completely under the muscle, crease incision. As expected after being aware Craig’s work normally takes a bit longer to drop, my implants sat very high and square for a while after surgery, which I was initially fine with because I understood things take time. However as the months went on, there was only a small amount of movement downwards, but not nearly enough. I expressed my concern at the 3-6 month time points, to be told that they were perfect and to wait until 12 months before we would consider doing anything. It was a pretty tough time for me, I was upset that I had spent so much money and was embarrassed to show off my result when everyone else I knew had gotten a nice result. Having to wait 12 months was frustrating to say the least. Anyway, at my 12 month appointment I was feeling pretty defeated and felt like maybe I just had bad boobs and I would never get great boobs. At this stage my main problem was that I had around 80% of my implant above the nipple and 20% below, I didn’t even feel like there was any implant below my nipple and my nipples pointed down. Above my nipple was not a natural slope at all, it was very square. It also looked like my nipples had slipped off my boob, and when I lent forward my boobs were triangles and not round with the implant sitting tight against my chest and my tissue just hanging off it the implant. I was told they were perfect again, and then we discussed what options I had after I made it very clear my result was really upsetting me and that I didn’t want to wait any longer for things to settle and drop down. It wasn’t really clear what my best option was, and how much improvement I could get. But Craig did say that he would fix it, this is not in doubt. However I wasn’t feeling very confident going ahead again without seeking further opinions, so I consulted with Mark Ashton. The difference in processes between the two clinics is a huge contrast. Automatically there was acknowledgement that something was not right, which was really validating because up until then I felt like a whinger always having to say what I felt was not right rather than have someone say yep I can see what you mean. Instead of me having to verbalise what I specifically didn’t like which is what had always happened prior to seeing Mark, Mark suggested what the problem was straight away (which was spot on) and said that he could fix it and if he didn’t get it perfect first time he would keep trying until he did. I booked surgery right then and there, I just felt completely safe and validated for how I had been feeling for the 14 months prior to that. Karen in reception was fantastic and worked me into surgery as soon as she could so that we could sort it all out. Come surgery day, I got taken away for surgery around 2:45pm, and the nurse suggested I would probably be back in a couple hours. I met Mark in the pre op room, who drew me up and took some photos and said he would try and lower my fold around 1cm each side and again reassured me that he would fix me. The anaesthesiologist came and put my cannula in, and then I got wheeled into the room and was out like a light very soon after. I am pretty sure I woke in recovery shaking because I was freezing (vague foggy memory of that, may not be correct though) Stayed in there for a while, and then was wheeled back into my room where I was greeted by my loved ones. It was now night time, and by the time I got back into my room it was 6:30pm so surgery went a fair bit longer than the nurse indicated it would. I had drains in both breasts as well which I was not expecting for a revision, and they had to be emptied a few times. Straight away you could see a substantial difference in the appearance of them, even though Mark told me the next morning not to worry yet they still need time to settle and will continue to improve. I saw his nurse a week later to change my dressings, and then saw him at the 2 and 4 week time point. When I went into the office following surgery for my first post-op time point the receptionists were asking how I was feeling because Mark had to do some extra work to get the implants to sit nicely, and said I would be feeling pretty sore. Which, I certainly was, but it was managed with panadol and a cheeky panadeine forte a couple of times. Mark said my implants were initially completely under the muscle, so he switched to a dual plane placement and released everything, lowered both my folds, and also performed a capsulectomy. He kept the same implants. At the two week time point, I was thrilled with my result but Mark wasn’t because they weren’t perfect (his words!!) so he put me in the strap which I had to wear religiously for two weeks to push one implant down and suggested a small benelli may be called for if at the 4 weeks post-op time point my nipples weren’t even. The strap seemed to have worked, because at the 4 week post-op time point things were much better so we ditched the strap to avoid making the other implant drop too much and then letting things settle for a month to see if we should use the strap to try and push the higher implant down 4mm. I am now around 6 weeks post-op and back to my regular activities and loving my new job, my nipples are in the middle of my boobs not falling off my boobs, and my boobs seem bigger now that I have implant and my breast tissue in the same spot! I also have a natural slope above my nipple. Mistakes happen and things can sometimes not settle as expected because we are dealing with human bodies, but it’s how you fix the less than desirable situation and how you treat people that matters. I am so glad that I have gone through this revision and finally have the result I wanted to begin with!

    Who to tell...?

@Trish that's awful but also the reason I only told my boss it's a 'female' procedure (I think she thinks it's a hysterectomy ). A very judgemental response on your bosses part & completely unnecessary & unprofessional. Hopefully the only unsupportive response you need to deal with xx

    Who to tell...?

Oh wow, that's not a great response from your boss, @Trish I hope everyone else is more supportive than that! My hubby and I run our own business so I'm glad I don't have to worry too much about that side of things. I imagine a response similar to that from my Dad though and possibly my Mum too. They're very kind and supportive with everything but sometimes they have no filter, lol, and they'd be a little worried about us spending so much money. They wouldn't mean to make me feel bad, just sometimes they don't think before they speak. I don't really care what anyone else thinks, my parents are the only ones I'm thinking about now and I don't want them finding out from someone else. I guess I'll have to talk to them once I'm totally sure I'm having it done...
