pink butterfly got a reaction from sabP in Where have all the good furry Brazilians gone??
If I had to upgrade or revise a few years ago, I would have been like yourself and gone for what I know which is the furry Brazilians.....which is what I have currently. I am 4 years post op and very happy with the outcome. They look natural to me...…...and to my husband.   But with the controversy with them now, if I had to have a revision soon I personally would be researching other brands of implants and seeing what the plastic surgeons recommend for me. It's your body and you have a right to what you think is best...…...but I would advise you to also look at other implants.

pink butterfly reacted to Hopeforfuture in A succesful history of my bdd. Now I'm feeling better
I write this thread to report my experience with my body dysmorphic disorder and my approaches with surgery. I suffered from bdd for over 10 years. Two years ago I found a great psychologist who has literally saved my life.
Until a couple of years ago I thought I wanted to modify my entire face: eyes, nose, chin, jaw, philtrum, cheekbones, eyebrow arch etc. In the subreddit "r/amiugly" when I wrote it a few years ago, a (presumed) girl wrote me that I was so ugly that for someone like me there could not be a surgery that could remedy my ugliness. These words made me feel bad and very sad. The Internet is the worst place to ask reassurance about your appearance, many people are cruel.
I also wrote five years ago in this forum, with the nick italyguy000, looking for validation for my face. Here, thankfully, I received only positive validations.
Thanks to the psychologist and my willpower I understood why I tend to see my face hideous and horrible when in real life I'm a normal man. The bdd tend to made this: when I see my face on the mirror I see my ugly thoughts and my repressed rage that turn into perception of ugly facial features in the mirror and in pictures.
I'm also writing a book about my story, I'm Italian and in my country nobody people that officially affected by bdd has publicly exposed about this disorder and I will be the first in my country to do so. I think if my book will be succesful in my country, I will have to do an international version of my auto-biographic book written in English. One of my chapter of my book is completely dedicated to internet and online toxic communities that can feed the bdd.
I write this because in my disorder I was lucky to contact two cosmetic surgeons who advised me that I don't need to change anything in my face, otherwise probably at this time I would have done several surgical interventions that deformed my face completely. I believe that serious and professional cosmetic surgeons should work in pairs with a psychotherapist. There are too many people with bdd than anybody can believe, most of them don't even believe they have bdd but they believe they are just plain ugly.
I hope my book can serve something in Italy, and I hope, if it is successful, even outside my country. Sorry for my bad english.

That is awesome with your upcoming surgery. Remember to eat light so that the body puts its energy into healing you rather than into the digestive process. I halved the size of my meals once I felt like eating properly again. I am a gym junkie too so I understand the difficult mental battle when exercise can't be done. On day 5 after surgery, I went for a slow walk. Then each day I gained more energy to walk faster. I made a fitness plan with my surgeon about when to go back to exercise and when I could do that. This really helped my mind so that every little bit of exercise I was allowed to do felt like great achievable goal.

It's all about the diet. I'm a fitness freak myself and I can tell you that during these type of "down" periods, it was diet related and I didn't gain weight. Make sure you watch what you eat, it is 80% diet and 20% exercise (as we age). I used to laugh at those stats but I can see it now. Make sure you eat healthy - get a good trainer who has a good meal plan as well.
Can I ask who you are booked in with? I'm having my revision the same month as you.

@RevisionGirl even though it will be your second BA you are going under the musc so the recovery will be a little more uncomfortable as your surgeon will have to release part of your muscle off your chest wall.  Yes i run and at first it felt a little weird but as long as i wear a good supportive sports bras the girls are fine, i still however feel my chest contract over my implants doing certain exercises like push ups and chatangras  (yoga moves) . I'm sure you will be fine ?

I found by 9 months post op my boobs finally had some jiggle and were softening. I then noticed another change at 18 months post op. I am now 4  years post op and they are more squishy. But they will never be like natural boobs...…..cos they are fake. They are still firmer than natural boobs...…….but my husband never complains about them.

    Hi ladies,
well I went to my PS today and he was quick to see me and out the door so fast.
We had a chat with my concerns and said to totally avoid chest excercise ( which I knew to begin with) he said they looked great but a slight separation and i need to see him in 1 years time. His secretary took some pics of me.
so, no more body pump for me ? I’ll stick to yoga/Pilates and lower body workouts.
    hope everyone is doing well?

It does take time for the implants to soften. I have unders so it did take longer than say overs to not be so tight and hard feeling. It took my hubby quite a few months to play with my boobs. He said his main worry was that he might hurt me. But I also suspected that it was because my boobs were fake and still hard. I am now 4 years post op and my boobs have softened heaps. They will never be like real boobs because they are fake. They are firm as the ladies are saying above, but my hubby loves them. I agree with the ladies in saying to ask your husband as to why he is refraining from touching or playing with your boobs. Maybe he is waiting for you to heal a little more but soft touching from him may give you both the confidence to know that your boobs won't "break".

Yeah I definitely agree - see a few plastic surgeons for consults. I didn't realise Dr. Chinsee was a cosmetic surgeon.

I am sorry to hear of the journey you have been through with your breasts. RE size, I guess it is down to personal choice. You have been a small C cup in the past with your prior implants. So you know what that size feels like + looks like on your frame. If you were happy being a C cup, then go with the sizing Dr. Chinsee has suggested. Or if bigger boobs are what you want, I would go bigger. Keep us posted with how you go.

I really advise watching the four corners program. It speaks a lot about people choosing budget surgery with cosmetic surgeons and then complaining that they are botched. (Wonder why)
Whilst it’s your choice to put your body and life into someone’s untrained hands.... don’t you think after experiencing the issues you have that you would make a wise decision and do it the right way and seek someone who has experience?
Once upon a time I was naive too, cheap surgery sounds good right? WRONG.
Now I actually value my life..... and breasts. You should too.
A plastic surgeon can help you with sizing to ensure your desired outcome.

Hey hun, sorry to hear you've had such a tough time. I agree with @pink butterfly re size, it's your personal choice, but those sizes should definitely give you a C cup. Is Dr Chinsee a qualified plastic surgeon? As opposed to a cosmetic surgeon, who does not have the same skill-set or qualifications. As in your right breast will need a bit of work and you need someone with top notch skills.
You may find even after this BA that your breasts will not be identical. As we all say on here, our breasts are not twins they are sisters, so may still end up looking a little different. I really feel you need to talk about this with your surgeon and be prepared psychologically. From how I read what you are saying you want them to be the same, but in reality they may never be exactly the same. However, an experienced and qualified plastic surgeon can get you the best outcome given your circumstances. xo

They don't feel harder when I lie on my back. Initially they did during the healing process but by 4 months post op they were softening. They separate a bit more like natural boobs when I am lying down.

It took a while for my mind to accept my new boobs. I was really flat chested prior to my BA. I went from a 10AA to a 10C cup. I also found it was a bit of an emotional journey too with accepting this new part of my body. I found by the 4th month mark I began to feel my boobs were a part of me. I am now 4 years post op and I could not imagine going back to being flat chested. My advice would be to just give things time - the body is healing and the mind is accepting the new you. x

    Hey there,

A good starting point would be to reach out to those clinics via email and detail your history with them - they will be able to advise whether or not
    a) they can help you
    b) approximate pricing
From there you can then decide if you would like to have a consultation with them. They will be able to show you before and after image of patients with results that would be similar to what you can achieve.
Ask to see lots of images, their experience with difficult revisional surgery etc

Yes I'm good and I'm glad I had my boobs done.  I guess they're always going to be 'fake' boobs.  But am heartened by women saying theirs softened at 1-2 years.  I'm sure my husband will get into them when they soften.  He loves the way they look though.  I don't have regrets so much as thought I would be more thrilled.  I know it will change though.  Boobs are defiantly a journey and not a result!
