  1. I'm looking at having a tummy tuck, breast lift and chin/neck lipo. I've narrowed it down to 2 surgeons but I'm having trouble choosing one. Help!! Who would you go with? I'm thinking between Dr Pornthep and Dr Boonchai. Dr Pornthep I would book through cosmeditour so accommodation with breakfast would be included and it's a 5 night hospital stay where as with Dr Boonchai it's only 3 nights. I'm travelling alone so not sure how well I'll feel after 3 days to do everything myself after discharge. Also with cosmeditour I would have someone to speak to for advice or assistance so I wouldn't be completely alone. With Dr Boonchai I would have to organise my own accommodation and won't have anyone to really help me with anything, but I like his before and after photos a bit more. Although I think he's slightly more expensive. Who should I choose??

  3. I dont care if phi won't cover that tiny portion of the surgeon fee they used to but I'm screwed if they won't cover the hospital stay and theatre fees! I'm planning on having my surgery in December so I'm going to be soo disappointed if the medicare item number won't apply anymore as I can't afford to have the surgery without phi paying the hospital fees Is there any way we can verify this? Has anyone actually had a surgeon tell them this is the case?
  4. Is an extended tummy tuck that goes around to the back a lot more expensive than a regular full tummy tuck? Particularly interested to find out whether dr moore charges extra for it. Thanks
  5. Mummaboobs do you mean my hospital fee will be partially covered or do you mean I'll be partially covered as I'll obviously still have to pay for the surgeons fee, anaesthetist fee and any garments? Because the only thing I'm counting on the phi fully (or at all) covering is the hospital fee. I'm going with Dr Mark Moore in Adelaide. TaTaTummyAndTaTas I'm insured with NIB. I was previously with medibank but I heard they were getting really strict so I switched. I'm praying they'll cover the hospital stay otherwise I won't be able to have the surgery :/
  6. I keep seeing everyone write that you have to have top phi cover to be able to claim the hospital fees for a tummy tuck. I've got mud hospital cover and received this email upon request last year. Still waiting till 12 months pass in October until I can get the surgery but I'm kind of worried that a year will pass and I won't be covered! Has anyone used mid hospital cover? "Thank you for your recent contact with nib. I can confirm that medicare item numbers 30177 and 45520 are covered under Mid Hospital provided you have served the required waiting periods. Please be aware that if no medicare item is attached to the procedure (either because the procedure has been performed for cosmetic reasons, or is rejected by Medicare as there has been no acceptable medical reason for the procedure) then NO benefits are payable by the fund. I hope this email has helped."
  7. Hi ladies. How does the medicare approval work for a tummy tuck with mr and breast reduction so I can get my PHI to cover the hospital fees? Once you've had a consultation with the plastic surgeon, does he need to send photos to Medicare so it gets approved or does he just need to advise them that certain medicare item numbers apply? Or is it my job to sort it out with medicare? I'm a little confused. Should I book the surgery straight away after my consultation or should I wait until I get the medicare approval first? How long does that take? Thanks
  8. Hi everyone. I was supposed to have a breast reduction and tummy tuck with muscle repair last year but after getting the hospital fee which was a lot more than the surgeon said it would be, I had to cancel it. I then upgraded my phi which kicks in at the end of October and ive saved enough for the tummy tuck (hoping to have enough for the breast reduction as well). I'm going with Dr mark moore in Adelaide and i keep hearing great things about him but I haven't seen any actual photos. Could anyone please show me photos if you had surgery with him? I guess the reason I'm a bit worried is because he doesn't do liposuction with the tummy tuck and I'm scared it'll look really weird with a flat stomach and fat sides/love handles lol. Has anyone had this problem or does the surgery kind of pull the sides in a bit too? I'll be going out of state for the surgery, do you think they would let me stay for 5 nights? Oh and how much did you get back altogether from both medicare and phi? Thanks
  9. Has anyone had neck liposuction? If so how much was it? I can't seem to find a price on any websites. Some of them say $4,500 per area but the neck is so much smaller than a stomach so I thought it would be cheaper
  10. Do most surgeons tend to do lipo along with a tummy tuck? The surgeon I'm considering going with doesn't do lipo with it but I'm worried I'll look weird with my hips/love handles still being fat while my stomach will be flat also do surgeons charge a lot more to extend the cut to the back? And for those that do lipo along with the tummy tuck, is that included in the price or do you pay extra for it?
  11. No he didn't show me any photos and I think he said he doesn't do lipo but I'm worried I won't have as good a result without it
  12. This is the year!! I'm determined to get a tt with mr and br. I was booked in to have them done last December but my hospital fees were way higher than I expected so I had to cancel it. I upgraded my phi so I'll be good to go after October. I'm very excited but I still have a few more questions. Now that my hospital stay will be covered I won't need to try and get out quickly as I'll be having the surgery interstate. Will they kick me out after a few days or will they let me stay for a week? Has anyone had any trouble claiming through NIB? Also does dr mark moore do liposuction as well or just the tt and br? I still haven't actually seen any of his before and after pics even though I've heard great things about him. Could anyone who's gone through him show me their after photos please? Can't wait till the end of the year!
  13. I'm thinking of having lipo on multiple areas with dr lanzer so I was just wondering if anyone here has had lipo with him and are you happy with the results?
