    @RKN hi ya!
Yes you are correct In saying that surgery was about $9500 - $10000 (hospital stay overnight, Kollias surgery, anaesthetic fees and implants) Dr Kollias is actually quite comparable regarding cost. I had straight forward surgery, high round profile 450cc under the muscle. As @sabP mentioned though, he really is an AMAzING Plastic Surgeon and couldn’t recommend him high enough ? I’m  3 months post op and very happy with my results. Good luck on your decision whichever way you decide to go.

Glad to hear your surgery went well  @MellieMoo ,  and yes i found sleeping on my back a little frustrating at first (I'm a side sleeper) but you eventually get used to it, hope your recovery goes well , and i bet they will look amazing after the D & F

Hey @MellieMoo Glad to hear your surgery went so well  The sleeping on your back is horrid and I hated it, but it won't be too long and you'll be able to sleep on your side.
Sounds like you have awesome results already and the D & F will only make them better!! xo

Thank so much @BethM! What size did Dr Kollias recommend and what size are you hoping to achieve? He really does know his stuff, I know it's hard when you have your mind set on size as I initially wanted at least 500cc but I think Dr Kollias allows you to go to the maximum without compromising the end result. I got 450cc and fitted as D cup already, so hopefully with a bit of D &F Il get a bit more ? Overall I'm pretty happy as I was a large A before ?
So finally had my surgery on Saturday! @Kit @Cupcake85 @I HaveBoobs @sabP All went really well ? Had a compression bra fitted (36D) and feeling a lot of pressure on the chest which I'm sure is to be expected. Taking panadol for the pain but wishing I took them up on the offer of stronger meds now I'm home as having trouble sleeping on my back and not resting as much as I probably should. Overall I'm pretty impressed as I thought I would be in much more pain and limited as to what I can do. Dr Kollias was AMAZING and the service and care from staff at St Andrews hospital was incredible ?
I'm only at Day 2 but very happy so far with my results, can't wait for the D & F as my boobs feel like they are currently sitting near my throat lol ?  I think the first few weeks will be the hardest but can't wait for the 6week home run and look forward to shopping and trying on new bras and bikinis ??

@MellieMoo so happy for you! Yes, I agree can’t wait for shopping! I’ve started taking less of the strong pain killers but really struggling to sleep sitting up. I can’t wait to hear everyone’s progress as I don’t know anyone personally who has done this.

@DDaa thank you! I’m all done. Was feeling so great but since I’ve gotten home I’ve been in so much pain. Can only take short breaths and every few minutes my body seems to panic and attempts a deep breath. Did you find it hard to walk around? Really hoping this passes soon.
@MellieMoo aww happy birthday for yesterday and all the best for today! What a wonderful gift you are giving yourself!

@MellieMoo my eldest is 8 and to be honest she hasnt mentioned anything lol so i dont really have advice, when i went to hospital i got her watched so she didnt no where i went and when i didnt come home her dad just told her i was having a break, i dont no if she hasnt noticed or just hasnt felt comfortable asking questions lol.. id say just tell your daughter what ever your comfortable with, if u dont mind her knowing just tell her your getting your boobs fixed haha if u prefer her not to no then u could probably tell her anything and she will believe it, if she says your boobs are bigger just act shocked and agree oh wow your right they do look bigger maybe its my magic bra haha nah i duno i didnt want my daughter to no for 2 reasons, one being there were certain people i didnt want to no like my inlaws as they wouldnt understand or be ok with it due to being very relgious people and i didnt want her to be put in a position to lie or feel like she has to hide things and the other because i didnt want to promote this type of thing i dont want her to feel like you have to alter your body, not saying id be against it if she ever wanted to do the same thing one day just dont want the idea stemming from me hahaha.

My children are 6 and nearly 2. The 6 year old I was fairly honest with. I had problems with my left breast filling with fluid around the implant so had to have it drained twice before replacing my implants. I told her I had to have needles in my boob and was sore. Then I told her I was going to hospital for an operation as there was an overnight stay for me. I told her that the special doctor who is called a surgeon was going to do surgery because my boob was sore and he would make it all better. Post surgery I explained that he operated on both boobs (she saw the dressings on my crease incisions as we aren’t a modest household and my first shower she walked in to start chatting to me). I don’t know if she realises they look different or not. I did ask if she had any questions but she didn’t. Once the hypafix dressing came off she wanted to see where my incisions were (they were pretty much healed just tiny bits of scab in a couple of places). My nearly 2 year old is a real boob boy. The first time he saw me topless post revision he started pointing at my boobs babbling and I told him they were ow. He repeated the word ow then he started smiling at them.

Hi @MellieMoo I know you said your family is far away, but hopefully your husband can get some time off to help (at least one week?)
My husband only had 3 days leave, however my kids are 8 & 12 so were an amazing help for me.  Just simple things like filling up the kettle, opening car doors, chopping veggies can be tricky in the first few days.
Also are your going over the muscle or under? as that will determine your rate of recovery too.
As previous posters have said just wear loose pants and button/zip up tops.
I also booked myself in for a wash and blow dry one week post op which was just heaven!

    Hey Girls

I found this info on another message board/forum and thought it would be helpful for those wondering what the healing process involves. I wish I had this earlier. I'm a little behind (probably due to my age).
Don't take this as gospel, just a guide. Hope it helps   Bec

Phase 1. 0-3 Days Post Op - Soreness on sides, ribs, sternum, and maybe back muscles. Swelling, tightness, shiny skin. Square-boob/highness of implants. In/out of it depending on pain medication being taken. Sleep is best in recliner or with a wedge to avoid swelling overnight and back pain. Almost everyone needs to sleep on their back only.

Phase 2. 3 Days - 2 Weeks - Moodiness (also related to meds). Sore to raise arms/reach/lift anything (follow PS instructions carefully to avoid Hematomas). Ribs/sternum/sides still sore and/or swollen. May have burning/itching feeling on breasts as nerves wake up. Still very difficult to sleep on sides without pain/discomfort. "Morning Boob" begins. Implants start to move a little, but still sit very high.

Phase 3. 2 Weeks - 3 Weeks - Comfort setting in as soreness dissipates. Nipples very sensitive, swollen, hard. Sunburn feeling on breasts more common. May begin lifting/reaching but no overextending abilities (if it hurts, don't do it - as always, follow PS advice closely). "Morning Boob" continues. Most are wearing sports bras by now and may be wearing wireless already. Some people have massages, some don't - depends on PS. Shopping is awesome! First sizing will be larger than pre-op but not yet what size will prevail - be patient . D&F is starting but one will more than likely drop faster than the other. Also swelling will subside uneven as well, so one side may look larger than other side temporarily (besides normal, that is). LOTS of changes going on during this time in looks - don't panic!

Phase 4. 3 Weeks - 6 Weeks - Boobs feel a lot more comfortable now. Soreness is almost gone, incisions look pink/purple and are a little raised. Implants are starting their descent and feel softer and move around more. Able to sleep on sides without much discomfort, although "Morning Boob" still evident (not as bad, though). May have soreness along sides, air bubbles, or other weird noises happening - these are generally OK. Activities return to normal.

Phase 5. 6 Weeks - 3 Months - Most healing is done and tenderness gone away. Scar gels/creams can be used. Exercising can begin again. Probably being instructed by PS to wear wire bra now (maybe 24 hours at a time). D&F slows and gets to where it's going. Boobs look and feel great! Morning boob fades away and becomes non-existent. Dropping progresses much more noticeably now and fluffing begins. Bra sizes begin to change as well, so don't overindulge just yet. Exercise can resume as usual, although will notice different feelings when working on peck muscles. This discomfort may be strong, and you may wish to avoid it. Also, you may find that the space between breasts is more oily than in the past.

Phase 6.3 - 6 Months - Fluffing continues but bra size shouldn't change much more. The softness will increase as will comfortability. The scar tissue is still dark, but softer and not as sore. Sleeping can be done in any comfortable position and any bra usually can be worn.
  24. Thanks
MellieMoo reacted to sabP in Pre and Post Op expectations and advice
Hey @MellieMoo There's a couple of threads on the forum re what to expect. Pre-op is fairly straightforward and your surgeon will advise what you need to do prior to arriving for your surgery. Post-op, pack your post-op bra and a button up loose fitting top and shorts or trackies to slip into. If you have long hair braid it as it might be a few days before you can wash your hair, unless your partner or a friend can help you.

The surgeon will give you your post-op instructions and you need to follow them. They differ a bit from surgeon to surgeon. You can't lift anything for the first two weeks and definitely not a little one out of the cot. If your partner can't help, is there anyone else who can help you? Or get your little one to put their arms around your neck and legs around your waist, rather than you lifting them.

Rest and recuperate and take it really easy and be gentle with yourself. Recovery differs from person to person. Some struggle and some cruise through. I was lucky to cruise through and I hope you do too :)

Maybe have some pre-prepared meals you can take out of the freezer, it'll be hard to cut up veggies and things for a couple of weeks. You also can't lift your arms above your head for the first week or so.

For me driving was out for the first week.

In your other post you ask about what to say to your 4 year old. Not a lot really, just say mummy had an operation and they need to be gentle with you. They may not notice your boobs or they might - it's up to you how much you tell them. You could say mummy needed to get her boobs fixed after breastfeeding or something like that. Simple and not too complicated.

Good luck with your surgery, we'll be thinking of you and keep us posted as to how you go xoxox

Just had my first consult today with Dr. kollias in Adelaide.
He recommended me 375cc, round, high profile implants, dual plane. I liked the look too in my sports bra but have zero idea what they will look like nude. Anyone have similar sizing want to give me a look ? or what size did you get with pictures?
