  1. My wounds have formed scabs and are healing nicely. I’m so relieved.
  2. Omg. That’s not what I was told. Great. Yet another worry.
  3. The original hole from the spitting stitch is drying out trying to form a scab and the bigger one in the crease is improving but not quite there yet.
  4. I’m changing the dressing daily now as instructed with a fresh seaweed dressing.
  5. Yes. Everything looking good it should heal up in 2 weeks
  6. So yesterday morning I went to change my dressing where I have a small hole from the spitting stitch/staph/Acinetobacter baumannii infections and was shocked to see my crease incision on that breast had opened up by about 2cm long. I had my surgeon paged who phoned me and I sent him a photo. He said it didn’t look infected keep dressing it and he will see me Monday. Slightly freaking out. Hopefully he will pop more stitches in or steri strips, I don’t know what happens next. Update you all tomorrow.
  7. My surgeon saw me today along with his nurse and they were both happy with how I’m looking. Keep on top of taking my antibiotics and a follow up in another week. Basically because I had a spitting stitch (dissolvable) the bacteria was able to get in.
  8. I’ve been back to the walk in clinic and still have a temperature. I’ve been prescribed even more antibiotics.
  9. It’s underneath the actual incision and it’s not too long. Maybe the length of a grain of raw rice. I should have stayed off google. I googled because I’ve never heard of Acinetobacter baumannii and I’ve read that plus staph are superbugs resistant to many antibiotics. I’m so glad that I called health direct for advice who told me to go see a gp immediately.
  10. I have a small hole underneath my crease incision and a swab test confirmed staphylococcus aureus and Acinetobacter baumannii infections. I’m on my second course of antibiotics but I’m feeling a bit freaked out. The hole still hasn’t scabbed over, I’m not sure how long it’s supposed to take. I see my surgeon and his nurse again Monday.
  11. Funny I’ve just read the recommendations on sports bras. I went bra shopping and bought 2 x sexy lacy wirefree bras (I can’t believe sexy wirefree exists!). I tried on the Berlei sports bra (unsure which exact one) and it was incredible. I jumped up and down in the fitting room and my boobs didn’t go anywhere. Unfortunately it does have underwire in it and until I see my surgeon in January I’m not allowed to wear wired bras but once I’m cleared I will be buying it. I got 2 x Lorna Jane high neck bras which I wear over a crop. Fairly supportive for the treadmill, etc but looks like I’m not going to be running until mid January. Also if you are in Perth I highly recommend Hidden Lace in Subiaco. Yes a lot of the stuff is expensive $90 bras but the ones I chose were on sale for $39.95 each. They are very good at fitting. One of the bras I tried was not sitting in between my cleavage but on top of it. My fitter straight out said it wasn’t a good fit. They also sell post surgical bras for those who are pre op. That’s where I got mine.
  12. Please do not lift your little one if your post op instructions say not to. I have been doing nappy changes on the floor. At bath time my 6 year old carefully lifts her nearly 2 year old brother in and then out of the bath. For nap time could you get one of those kids fold out sofas? My boy is in a toddler bed as he was climbing out of his cot a few months ago and we were scared he could hurt himself. My instructions were nothing over 2kgs for 6 weeks. I’m 3.5 weeks post revision. I will be honest I have lifted my 12.5kg son when I’ve had no choice. We were alone and he climbs in and out of his car seat but he fell asleep and he was having trouble waking I tried but he was just too tired. Apart from that I’ve followed the rules. I’m not sure how old your kids are but is the older one able to help?
  13. My children are 6 and nearly 2. The 6 year old I was fairly honest with. I had problems with my left breast filling with fluid around the implant so had to have it drained twice before replacing my implants. I told her I had to have needles in my boob and was sore. Then I told her I was going to hospital for an operation as there was an overnight stay for me. I told her that the special doctor who is called a surgeon was going to do surgery because my boob was sore and he would make it all better. Post surgery I explained that he operated on both boobs (she saw the dressings on my crease incisions as we aren’t a modest household and my first shower she walked in to start chatting to me). I don’t know if she realises they look different or not. I did ask if she had any questions but she didn’t. Once the hypafix dressing came off she wanted to see where my incisions were (they were pretty much healed just tiny bits of scab in a couple of places). My nearly 2 year old is a real boob boy. The first time he saw me topless post revision he started pointing at my boobs babbling and I told him they were ow. He repeated the word ow then he started smiling at them.
  14. You should have luck at Bras n Things with wirefree bras. Unfortunately I think I will end up a 10F or 10G as I was a 10E with my old implants. Bras n Things just don’t stock anything wirefree in F or G cup as I asked. I’m going to a specialist lingerie store. I’m after sports bras as I’ve just joined the gym (but not doing upper body yet). I have an appointment Friday to be fitted.
  15. This was my other inspiration pic. We went with this look as felt it would suit my hair type better as well as how I wanted to style it. The only difference is we went shorter through the top.
  16. I went with a very similar pixie cut. The above pic is fully shaved and I was worried the top getting shaved to a number 8 wouldn’t style like the photo due to my hair type. My hair is very close cropped. The sides and underneath are faded from a number 1 to a 2. Then the rest of the sides are cut short blending down and the top was cut very short with scissors. I’m excited to have a play around with it today. I have very thick hair so this sits so much nicer.
  17. I’ve been growing out my pixie cut and it’s now naturally wavy (still a pixie cut just longer and no more undercut). I saw some photos of my shorter haircut and now I’ve got the urge to chop it all off again. This photo is my inspiration. I’ve not had the top and fringe quite this short before but have had my undercut as a zero so shaved sides and back isn’t new to me. Would love to know what you think of the cut? Pros - easy to style and no bed hair as it’s so short. No fighting my wavy hair as when it’s this short a bit of wax and it sits nicely. I like the style. Cons - have been trying to grow my hair. Hubby not a fan of any style above the shoulders. My appointment is coming up in about 4 hours so I need to decide on a style.
  18. Thank you for your kind words. I feel like in some clothes my boobs stand out as fake or even too big but I’m very happy regardless. It’s just weird how certain clothes can really change your look and how they can get lost in some things. I think mine still have a lot more changing to do but being a revision it “may” happen quicker because the pockets were already there. I was hoping for a crop style bikini top but all the ones I’ve seen have clip up backs so I’d need either an 8 or 10 which won’t cover properly or even worse squash and flatten me. Oh well. Will keep looking on eBay in the meantime so I can order separates.
  19. Because I can’t upload it to my avatar and am useless at technology I will post it here. 2 weeks post op today. Tried on my old bikini top. Size 16 from Target. Filling it out so much better with my new implants. Opinions - would the top be ok to wear in public with high waisted bikini bottoms? As I will be with my kids. I’m having so much trouble finding a more covered up option without underwire. Even the crop Top style options I liked yesterday had underwire in them.
  20. Once I’m 6 weeks post op I’ve been told I can start wearing a soft cup bra as long as it’s wire free. I’ve looked online at Bras n Things, I’ve even looked in Big W as the Kayser range go to an F or G cup and I’m not having any luck finding my size. I was a 10E with 360 anatomical implants and now have 525 round extra high profile and I look a lot bigger. I’m estimating I will end up a 10F or 10G but who know until my implants settle. I prefer a wirefree bra with lightly padded/moulded cups and a proper back as opposed to a crop style top for more support. Also I don’t want to spend much money in case my size changes as my implants drop and fluff. I’ve looked on eBay and anything that would have been perfect starts at a 12 which will be way too big in the back for me. Any suggestions for me? My nips and nipple piercings are extremely visible through my surgical bra and all clothes I wear so I’m wanting the moulded cups to conceal them especially for work. Ive tried silicone nipple covers and they just drew more attention to my areola area as they left a little bulge even though I put them on properly. I don’t mind travelling to lingerie stores. I’m in Perth.
  21. Hi and I hope you are still active. I haven’t been on the forum as often as I used to be so don’t always see things. I had a revision recently and I have Allergan/Natrelle micro textured rounds. The micro textured have not been linked to breast implant associated large cell lymphoma whereas the macro textured (which is what I previously had) have been linked. Not only do smooth implants have a higher risk of bottoming out there is a higher rate of capsular contracture also. I originally wanted to replace with smooth implants however I trust my plastic surgeon.
  22. Hi and thanks for your comment. Everything went great and my recovery has been fairly easy with minimal discomfort. The only problem is I can’t stop spending money on new tops as there’s a sale on and I can’t help myself as the prices are so good and I keep finding cute things. Hubby and my wallets are going to be in trouble once I’m cleared for bras and bikinis.
  23. Just wanted to chime in and say Tony Connell was my revision surgeon 10 years ago and again just last week. I cannot fault him he is amazing.
  24. Hi Panda, have you you read any of my threads? I had 10 year old textured anatomical implants pain and swelling in left. Fluid was drained out twice and came back negative. I just had my implants replaced Tuesday to rounds. My surgeon wrote me an ultrasound referral without seeing me. If your surgeon won’t I’m sure your gp would be happy to write one and then depending on your results refer you either back to your original surgeon or to another. I had a little bit of capsular contracture in both breast as well as double capsule in both. My left had also rotated inwards.
