  1. I would like your help if you could suggest a hair transplant surgeon in Australia? I need names so I can start doing my research. I would appreciate your response! Thanks!
  2. I'm a 16 year old girl. I hate my cheekbones. I am a follower of all the all the fashion trends and I love the models with high cheekbones. My aunt did a noon surgical facelift and she looks amazing now. Can I do facelift at this age? Is there any risks associated with it?
  3. I had a neck threading procedure done several months ago by a doctor who professed to be an 'experienced cosmetic surgeon'. In fact his Brisbane business states that he has been doing cosmetic surgery for over three years and has a great reputation with incredible results. Well I should have done my homework, the neck threading turned into a neck nightmare, barbed threads inserted wrongly by a doctor who was clearly under experienced and did not have the qualifications to do the procedure. The neck threading infact did not lift my neck but left it looking like a 'vagina' and my face was pulled down causing massive jowling! The pain in my neck was incredible, he hit my voice box, thyroid gland, mandibular nerve and laryngal nerve. I dribble on one side of my mouth, I have pain constantly and wake with pain in the night. Now after seeing over 6 plastic surgeons and being told how bad he was I am booked in to have the barbs taken out of my neck, my neck reconstructed, a major facelift and eyebrow lift. All this because of a simple neck threading. Beware! Do not go to a 'cosmetic surgeon' no matter how many procedures they say they have done. They have gone to short courses that usually are done by the suppliers of their equipment. If they were really serious about cosmetic outcomes then they would do their training properly and become a plastic surgeon. Also beware of someone saying that they are a 'cosmetic surgeon' or doing 'cosmetic surgery' when they are not fully qualified surgeons and a member of the Australian College of Surgeons. Do you homework! It will save heartache in the end.
  4. Anyone has done Tummy Tuck with Dr Chartchai ? His quoted price was 285,000 bahts @ Samitivej Sukhumivit Hospital but he uses Hospital package if practise at Bumrungrad at the cost of 249,300 bahts. I have so far found no medical agencies that he works with for his service.
  5. Anyone has any idea whether Dr Amorn Poomee engage any medical agency for his surgeries ?
  6. I am 52 year old living in Brisbane. I am thinking about getting cosmetic surgery done on my face in Thailand. I have some scars on my face due to an accident I was in and has they are healed now, I was to get them removed but the procedure seems quite costly in Australia. Can anyone recommend good, affordable doctors overseas where I can get procedure done safely. My budget is about 12k.

  9. Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone has had experience with accessory breast tissue removal (also known as armpit fat). I am not a big girl but due to large breast growth i have developed extra breast tissue which is rather annoying and makes me look larger than i am. Is it an expensive procedure? covered by HBF or medicare? and has it got a long recovery time?. I can not seem to find plastic surgeons in perth who advertise it either. Thank you

  11. Hi everyone, Does anyone know what the procedure is called to have your birthmark removed? and if anyone has had it done? I have one which I have been wanting to remove for years but I've never known where to start. help! Thanks
  12. Hi all, First time poster. Been doing a bit of reading on here and have made contact and met with 2 surgeons based on some recommendations on here.. so thanks! Would like other people thoughts on my situation I'm facing. 12 months ago I had a rhino-septoplasty to open my airways up as I've sleep apnoea and severe hypersomnia. I figured while I was having a nose op I may as well remove the bump from my nose as well. Turns out my surgeon didn't open up my airways at all and also left me with a big dip where my bump was. His response to my post op concerns were "your nose isn't blocked" and "your nose looks better like that". Safe to say I never went back to see him again. So 12 months later, I've still a real problem waking up in the morning and also have problems breathing through my nose. I appear to have a 'valve effect' on my nose so when I breath in, my nostrils shut down; thus making breathing more labor intensive than need be. I've seen 2 well respected surgeons in Melbourne. One being an ENT that does plastics, the other being a plastic that could also fix the function of my nose. Both quotes came to the same figure. To the exact dollar actually. $12k minus any medicare/private health + anaesthetist + hospital... So about $12k by the time you factor it all in. Keeping in mind the tax breaks you receive with any medical expenses over $2040 you receive 20% back from the government. Only problem is that this is being axed as of July 1 2013. So if I were to have the op done after then I'd receive nothing back. If I pay for the op and have it after July 1 I will still get the 20% back from the government. The decision I've to make (fairly quickly it seems) is should I just hurry up and choose a surgeon? Book and pay for the op before July 1 to ensure I get the 20% from the government? Or should I explore the public system? I've currently not had any exposure to the public system, how it works, if they'd even actually do the work to fill in the dip in my nose as it's cosmetic? I guess I'm just looking for other thoughts and opinions and where better to turn that here? Look forward to your feedback all! Thanks, Daniel
  13. Hi All. Well I finally had my tummy tuck yesterday so will start to write about my experience. Not sure if I make it all in one go becos I get tired & typing on an iPhone is annoying. So here goes: Day 1: Had to be at the hospital by 10. Surgery was scheduled for 11. But my surgeon fell behind. Anyway by about 12.30 I got called in to prep, my awesome surgeon came & had a chat. I was surprisingly calm. He got his texter out & marked where my scar will be. Talked to me about pain relief & asked if I would like a catheter afterwards so I wouldn't have to strain myself using a bedpan. Yes please! He then took photos of my tummy & said my tummy muscles were pretty bad... "You look about 5 months pregnant" he said. Yeah helloooo that's why I'm here! Hee hee. He said be prepared for quite a bit of pain because of that. The anethesist came too, talked to me about my history etc.. Anyway I was put to sleep finally at around 1.30pm. I remember looking at a clock in recovery saying 5.00? Wow, I was shocked it took so long.... (Will save now. Don't want to loose everything!)
  14. Hi everyone, I'm considering getting rhinoplasty this year. I've always been super insecure about my nose ever since I was little so its something I'm sure I want to get done... the only problem is which surgeon to go to? I've gone through these threads and I've read great reviews about Andrew Greensmith & Graeme Southwick.. but I want to know for certain before I go for a consult with them. If any of their former patients could share your experience with me then I'd really appreciate it... and if anyone could suggest other surgeons that are renowned for rhinoplasty then that'd also be helpful. I don't mind travelling interstate or overseas if it means peace of mind also I wanted to know if it's realistic to go to Chicago to have rhinoplasty? I know that all surgeons have had both bad and good cases, and no surgeon can be called the best... but I did hear that Dean Toriumi is very popular for revision rhinoplasty and other surgeons think highly of him too. If he's good at revision then he must be an expert at primary right? Like I kinda picture him as the God of Rhinoplasty, but he charges upto $18000 for a primary surgery. That's almost double the fees of other surgeons... so I'm not sure if it'd be worth it? I want someone who has experience with rhinoplasty for all types of ethnicities, and I don't know if Greensmith and Southwick do? One last question... Has anyone had any complications after their rhinoplasty? Are you still able to blow your nose and make silly facial expressions? Thanks guys for the responses!
  15. Does all the bad media put you off having surgery overseas? I'm booked in for April next year and I have read all the horror stories on here, even saw the today tonight or ACA program (whichever that aired it) but it hasn't put me off, just makes me very cautious. Now Sunrise on Channel 7 are airing their story about cosmetic surgery and idk if it's because I'm counting down or what but this has gotten my attention. Questions are going through my mind now like what does the insurance actually cover, what if something goes wrong, am I doing the right thing? Has anyone else gone through this? It's the first time I've really been effected by it all.
