  1. Hi All I am new new new to this! I am closing approaching the big 40 and have decided to take the plunge. I am very impressed with Mr Graeme Southwick and his expertise. I have booked in for December. However I am keen to hear from other facial surgery patients of his and if you are happy with the results? SO NERVOUS!
  2. I'm considering an endescopic facelift or possibly cheek implants as well as upper/lower blephroplasty or fat transfer under the eyelids to recreate some volume in the face that I seem to be losing in my mid 30's. I have tried subdermal Q fillers in the cheeks about 18 months ago. Initially there was some increase in volume though not what I had hoped. The cosmetic Doctor told me the results would last a year.. They didn't.. Either that or my body metabolises fillers faster than it does chocolate! He has since suggested 'aggressive' thread lifting as a way to achieve the desired results in my face. I've since consulted with a plastic surgeon who is of the opinion that an endescopic facelift may be the way to go for a longer lasting alternative to filler. I'm mid 30s and I don't want an unnatural 'catwoman' mask where my face once was. Have also been wondering about cheek implants as an option. Would love to hear from anyone with ideas or experiences.
  3. I had a neck threading procedure done several months ago by a doctor who professed to be an 'experienced cosmetic surgeon'. In fact his Brisbane business states that he has been doing cosmetic surgery for over three years and has a great reputation with incredible results. Well I should have done my homework, the neck threading turned into a neck nightmare, barbed threads inserted wrongly by a doctor who was clearly under experienced and did not have the qualifications to do the procedure. The neck threading infact did not lift my neck but left it looking like a 'vagina' and my face was pulled down causing massive jowling! The pain in my neck was incredible, he hit my voice box, thyroid gland, mandibular nerve and laryngal nerve. I dribble on one side of my mouth, I have pain constantly and wake with pain in the night. Now after seeing over 6 plastic surgeons and being told how bad he was I am booked in to have the barbs taken out of my neck, my neck reconstructed, a major facelift and eyebrow lift. All this because of a simple neck threading. Beware! Do not go to a 'cosmetic surgeon' no matter how many procedures they say they have done. They have gone to short courses that usually are done by the suppliers of their equipment. If they were really serious about cosmetic outcomes then they would do their training properly and become a plastic surgeon. Also beware of someone saying that they are a 'cosmetic surgeon' or doing 'cosmetic surgery' when they are not fully qualified surgeons and a member of the Australian College of Surgeons. Do you homework! It will save heartache in the end.
  4. Hi All! My name is Mindy Hung, and I'm from Massey University, Auckland, New Zealand. I'm currently conducting a doctoral research on cosmetic surgery looking at how it changes the way you perceive and feel about yourself, and how it changes your life!! This research has the potential to further our contemporary understanding in cosmetic surgery and how it may benefit people, if not otherwise! Your participation in the research will be highly appreciated! All you have to do is to complete 4 sets of anonymous online surveys within a 7-month period!! If you: 1. Are 18 years of age or older 2. Have a cosmetic surgery scheduled in May, June, or July 2015 3. The surgery has nothing to do with physiological or medical reasons (e.g. back pain, or functional problems), and it is purely for appearance enhancement 4. The surgery requires either general or local anaesthesia 5. The surgery will lead to permanent physical change (so no botox and etc) Please contact me via email mindy.m.hung@gmail.com and get involved!! You will not need to give me any information that may personally identify you, simply use a nickname for yourself in the email will do, for the purpose of anonymity! I will also be sending you more information about the research Please help us further understand the effects of cosmetic surgery! I would be extremely grateful for your support and participation! Best regards, Mindy
  5. Has anyone had a facelift by Dr. Rungkit in Thailand? I've corresponded with MediMakeovers (who have been awesome and soooo patient with me lol) for months now and have my quote etc and am hoping to book for October of this year. I have read great reviews and one bad one on Dr. R. Thanks
  6. Can anyone recommend a Plastic Surgeon in Bangkok for a neck/face/bow lift, and blepharoplasty who is practicing state-of-the-art techniques? I would like to find someone who can do non-invasive surgery if possible. I've heard there are techniques for the lower blepharoplasty that can be done from the inside of the eyelid without any blades using electric current and without stiches. I would also like to find someone who can do a more non-invasive brow lift than making an ear-to-ear incision. Thanks for your advice! Annie
  7. Hi. I need a face lift and neck lift. Possibly eye lift. And thinking of having the size of my earlobes reduced. The filter system on this forum brings up a lot of boob jobs. Looking for posts re the face only. Can any ladies share their experiences of good face surgeons in Thailand? Thanks all!
  8. Has anyone here had surgery with Dr Nasir in KL Malaysia at the Beverly Wilshire Hospital through Gorgeous Getaways? I am booked to go there in 3 weeks for a mid/lower facelift; necklift and upper/lower eyes. I would very much like to hear from anyone who has had surgery with him and your experiences. I am getting more and more nervous as the date draws closer. Have seen some horror stories on the net and would like an unbiased opinion/ feedback. Thanks everyone
