  1. This month i'll be having a septorhinoplasty with Mr Andrew Greensmith. It's the third surgery on my nose - I was unhappy with the last surgery about 11 years ago with Dr Robert Reed, so I went back, only to find he'd retired. He was replaced with an ENT who said he wouldn't touch my nose, too much scar tissue. I thought it was all over for my nose, and i'd just have to accept it. It wasn't easy as my nose looks really out of shape. Then a couple of months ago, something re-triggered a search for the best revision rhinoplasty surgeon I could find. After reading stories about complex revisions being successfully done, hope started a blazing fire!!! I met with Mr Greensmith and felt totally confident and reassured that a great result was possible. I don't need a perfect nose, I want normal. Mr Greensmith said it'd be a complex surgery of 3.5-4 hours fixing every aspect of my nose. I'll likely need a rib graft but he'll wait to see what he finds when he opens it all up. I'll share my journey on this forum as it's been a massive reassurance for me - so many amazing stories about Dr Greensmith. I was quoted just under $16k for the septorhinoplasty and $2600 for the anaesthetist. I have private health cover so just the $500 excess for that. My consult was $300 (no GST) due to medical reasons. Expensive, but I feel it'll be worth every cent after what i've been through and what my nose looks like. I might post pictures soon.
  2. Hello I require a septorhinoplasty due to a deviated septum but am also wanting the shape changed as well. I'm in Brisbane. I have had an appointment with Maurice Stevens and he was very nice and seemed very experienced. But I have also heard good things about Dr Scott Comen as well. Does anyone have experience with either of these doctors? Thank you
  3. Hi All. Im 8 days Post Op from having a Septorhinoplasty with Dr Andrew Greensmith. I wanted to write on the forum as I know I searched these things regularly when trying to pick a surgeon. I had a consult with another Melb Plastic Surgeon, who is very well known - although I didn't like how I was treated by him/his staff and it was just off putting completely. I thought i'd never get my nose done... I was expressing this to a friend, who had another friend recently have Septorhinoplasty with Dr Greensmith & put us in touch. We got in touch and discussed everything regarding the surgery - She was SO happy! I left our catch up googling Dr Greensmith and calling his office before I even got to my car. I had to wait around 6 weeks for a consult. It was WELL worth it!!! Dr Greensmith made me feel so very welcome and listened to what I wanted & was able to actually take on board what I wanted and also telling me what is realistically possible and any issues that could arise if we over did it etc. I found this really comfortating that he was caring about what any changes would do structurally, not just accepting my aesthetic wishlist. (The other Dr did this & didn't offer feedback). He was also able to tell I had breathing problems from a young age, just by looking at me. He looked in, up and all around my nose. (The other Dr just manipulated pics and never looked in my nose once) Turns out I had a deviated septum - so he would perform a Septorhinoplasty. I left feeling so much happier. Like you, I would look up reviews regularly. I was unable to have the surgery for 6months due to other life commitments. I booked in, and asked to have another consult as it has been so long since I seen the Dr. Again, the consult was great. I felt at ease. He never made me feel rushed, or that he had to be somewhere else. Surgery day- The Dr came in to see me before surgery, as did the aneasethist. I don't remember much. I stayed in overnight and wore a compression garment on my legs - great idea! I had minimal bruising, if u could even call it that, and I usually bruise like a peach! I think it was the surgeons great technique. I wasn't in pain at all. I took one pain tablet the entire time of recovery. I just got my cast off yesterday! It's FANTASTIC!!! I had a very European looking nose- think hump at the very top. I also liked how I looked from the front and didn't want to not be 'me' anymore. The Dr did such a great job! I have a straight beautiful side profile (albeit lots of swelling still) and still look like me. I am so happy I chose him. If you can, please book in for a consult with him and you will understand. I know he has limited before & after pics on his website, however you'd also struggle to find a bad review anywhere of him.
