  1. Hello, This is my first post on this website. I came here a few times initially when I was researching doctors, so I appreciate the website. I thought I would like to give something back, because when I was searching for results on Rhinoplasty in Thailand, I often was unsatisfied with the lack of results. I am Caucasian male in my 30's who travelled to Thailand on my own. I didn't use any agencies and don't believe you should. If you are an intelligent person and you don't rush your decision, you can find a qualified surgeon all on your own. I would like to initially outline how I found a surgeon in Thailand. Firstly, any doctor in Thailand can perform plastic surgery. You could be a general practitioner or dermatologist in Thailand, and you could, if you choose to do so, perform Rhinoplasties and Breast augmentations. So, with that said, it is up-to you, to be smart and find someone who is certified. To find a certified surgeon in Thailand you must use this website: SOCIETY OF AESTHETIC PLASTIC SURGEONS OF THAILAND (THSAPS) http://www.surgery.or.th/ http://www.isaps.org/ http://www.osaps.org/ After all my research, Dr Charan was the doctor I ended up choosing. Why? 1) He is qualified. When choosing a doctor in Thailand, it's helpful to know the quality of the universities there. Internationally, they are ranked around 400-500 in the world (QS World Rankings), so they are not the best places. But in saying that, if you are going to get your surgery done here, you should choose the best in the country. From my research: Chulalongkorn university is ranked number 1, followed by Mahidol university. (Charan studied at Chulalongkorn and is currently a professor of plastic surgery there) 2) He does not over-charge because you are a foreigner. Whether you have realised it or not, most developing countries, are full of opportunistic, if not, greedy people. Thailand isn't exempted from that, as you will know they have double pricing for foreigners. Where, if you have white skin and speak english, you will be charged double if not triple the price that locals would pay. I consulted with about 5 doctors before settling on Charan, and prices for a standard rhinoplasty reduction ranged from 70,000 baht, to 300,000 baht. The upper extreme belongs to a doctor by the name of Dr Somyos Kunachak (Yoskarn Clinic), whom I believe overcharges and from my research isn't even a certified plastic surgeon. Dr Charan ended up charging me approximately 80,000 baht. I had people his junior, whom he actually taught in medical school, charging more than he does for surgery. these are people with about 20 years less experience than him. I hope this puts his pricing in perspective. I'd like to reinforce that point. 3) He is mature, has a lovely bedside manner, and from his previous client photos, I could see drastic improvements in their appearance post-op. (Bear in mind, you will only be able to see these photos when you visit his clinic) So, with all that covered. Here are my pre-op and post-op photos (4 months post-op) My request to the doctor was to reduce the width of my nose tip (Tipplasty) and give it stronger definition. My surgery was performed under local anaesthetic (I had the option of choosing general anaesthetic), with sleeping medication. Overall I am happy with the results of the surgery and with my doctor. 2. Hi everyone, I'm from Adelaide and there is very little information on surgeons in Adelaide. I previously had a rhinoplasty in Adelaide in 2013 which I've been left very unhappy with. I from now on refuse to get any more surgeries in Adelaide unless I somehow manage to find an amazing surgeon here. I want to have a revision rhinoplasty with Dr Shahihi, I rang the office today and she said a ball park figure for rhinoplasty is 16-20k for revision (I just need my tip done). This was upsetting for me as I thought it would be a lot less. However I have seen his before & afters, read a lot of good reviews so I think I may look into travelling up to Sydney. I'm scared to go for any surgeon that isn't know for his good work after my disastrous mistake from my last surgery. I also want to have my breasts done (after breastfeeding for a year). I hope to go with Dr Tazaki which I was quoted 25k as I need a lift and implants. I'm very stressed as this is a lot of money for me (I'm a mother so feel VERY guilty for spending this much money on myself) yet it is something I desperately want. I would love if anyone could give me some advice on surgeons they could recommend, what they paid, any thing they think could be helpful. If I do go ahead I will need to fly up to sydney, have consultations and come back down from three weeks as Dr Shahidi doesn't do Skype consults, then come back up to Sydney to go ahead with surgery! It seems like an awful lot of money and travelling but I'm unsure of what to do!
