Sigh. This is a bit of a vent... A bit of background: I had moderate acne all over my face and chest when I was in high school. So I went on Yasmin. It cleared up my skin fantastically! However, I was only on it for 3 years or so before the doc took me off it because it gave me mild hypertension. After coming off it, the spots came back, but not as bad as before I went on the pill - just mildly. About 3 years after stopping, I went back on Yasmin as I was going overseas for a few months and didn't want the hassle of lady problems. I then stayed on it for 4 years, even though it put up my blood pressure into the prehypertension bracket (130/90), however but since starting another medication for a chronic condition, it put up my blood pressure even more 140-150/90-100. So the doc really wanted to get it down. Needless to say, I stopped the pill agin 9 months ago I stopped the pill again. Onto "now": Firstly, I didn't get my period back for 4 months (which didn't happen the first time I stopped it), when my natural (pre-pill) cycle is 28 days like clockwork. Since then, I have developed cystic jawline acne (after 2-3 months of stopping). Which is never ending, painful and embarrassing - I'm too old for this!!! Also I have constant breakouts on my back (all the way down, not just up the top), some cystic. Also on my chest, but they (thankfully) are not cystic. The back acne did get 300% worse a couple of weeks after I had a full body massage towards the end of last year. So I'm thinking that the massage oil that she used my have clogged my pores Irony, 1 hour of bliss followed by months of anguish. I use Botani natural skin care products on my face (as well as MD formulations glycolic cleanser nightly to clear the dead skin), as they are gentle and have lemon scented tea tree. I genuinely think this stuff works. So I picked up their clearing soap to use on my back, which my partner (thanks hun!!) loofahs lightly. It seems to be helping, but there are still spots everywhere. I must add, that I eat a healthy diet. Little to no refined carbs, little sugar, lots of veggies, and take berocca daily. For the past few weeks I have embarked on a "no dairy" (and no soy) diet. It's been hard, I swear that cheese is addictive. I feel the same way now about cheese as I did when I was coming off sugar! Now this, my actually be working. I am still getting spots, but they are nowhere near as deep and painful as before. But I need a couple of months to say whether of not it is actually worth sticking to it. </end rant> Any suggestions (as to diet/products/treatments) from you lovely ladies is welcomed!!
