Breast augmentation - New to this!

Recommended Posts

Guest PinkFriday

Hi everyone, I'm new to this site. I'm from Melbourne. I want to get breast augmentation done. I'm after the round look, not too natural but not over the top.

So far I've been reading a lot of reviews and checking out breast surgery forums.

I've got a few plastic surgeons written down. I've got Tim Brown, ***** ****, Dr Mayson, Howard Webster and Dean Trotter.

I've booked in a free consultation (Real Self mentioned) with Dean Trotter as Howard's a bit more booked at the moment.

I first thought about ***** **** because of his reputation and I know he has celebrity patients. The only thing that puts me off is I emailed them and they wouldnt answer my question properly when I asked if I could meet him on the first visit. They wanted me to see a nurse and pay for that but then I wouldnt get to see him until a later date. I didnt like that but I do realise he's in demand and that might be why.

Ive got pics on my iphone with boobs I like. Im thinking JWOWW, Carmen Electra, porn star boobies. Nothing TOO MASSIVE though. I'm 5'4 and 66kg. Hoping to drop a few kilos beforehand. 60kg is my goal weight but we'll see how I go.

Should I book all appointments with surgeons or see Dean and go from there?

Does anyone have any advice or good experiences to share with me?

Sorry for this long post. I appreciate any replies.

Stephanie

Welcome PinkFriday :) I would chuck Prof mark ashton in your consult list. He's friggin dam amazing!! I'm a melb/vic girl and had a consult with him. His price is around $14-$15k which is pretty standard for Melbourne. I loved mark, I think he's one of the best surgeons out there. But unfortunately I had a bad experience at one of my appointments which left me not so confident with going ahead with him as my surgeon.(nothing to do with his work) long story. I have no decided to fly to Sydney and get my surgery done at TCI. $5999 for surgery $460 for accom and $200flights. That's also another option that a lot of melb girls on here have opted for . Goodluck babe. U will gain heaps of knowledge from the girls on here xxx

Welcome to Boobie land :)

You will find so much info here and everyone is really friendly and willing share their experiences. I hardly had to ask my PS anything as all my questions had been answered on here.

im in Queensland so I can't help you with surgeons down your way, but most people say to get 3 consults if you can, I only had the one because I was so comfortable with his expertise etc that I didn't worry about seeing anyone else :) will send you a FR , then you can see if that worked for me lol

I've got an appointment for Tim Brown next Wednesday and then Dean Trotter on Feb 4th. Howard at ARC Surgery was booked out but Dean has trained with Howard and I think he'll be a bit cheaper.

Amie does he do the fake round look? I'm trying to avoid any pretentious surgeons as I really want to be comfortable to be able to express what I want. I'm very adimant that I get round and not tear drop shaped.

If anyone wants to share pics of their new boobs and who did them that would be great.

A question I have is if I get my implants done and then I drop weight slowly will it sag my boobs? Thats one of my concerns. I only want to lose 6-7 kg.

I'm trying my best from now to watch my eating habits and keep it healthy. I definately know I will maintain my current weight. I weigh myself weekly to make sure I don't allow myself to put on weight.

Yes, if u drop weight it will change the look of ur breasts, but I don't think it w

so be too bad. Mark definately does the fake look :) craig Rubenstein is the only one I would recommend staying away from as he only does a natural look :)

Thanks Amie. You just reminded me I read that in a forum last night that Craig does more natural ones! I'll cross him off my list for that reason. Maybe I should call Mark and book in now. That will give me 3 options. Amie I just messaged you a question.

Also before it blurred out a surgeon name I wrote hes from Toorak initials C.M if you all know who I mean from that.

Does anyone have opinions or thoughts on George Mayson?

Yeah I read all about that. Someone was posting bogus reviews apparently and he hired a private investigator to track them down. I read the articles online about that too. I've also seen his video on the Today Show. I'm too scared to approach him because of the price tag and the fact I cant meet him on my first consulation and the fact Id have to hand over $500 first

Yeah hes on a million dollar yearly salary. I do believe I can achieve the same thing through another surgeon who is cheaper.

I heard Tim Brown is very upfront and honest. He apparently gets to the point so hopefuly it goes well. Do they all do 3D vectra imaging? I know Dean does.

I definately want to stay local, in Melbourne. No travelling for me. I already did that with my tattoos haha.

From everything I've read my list is

- Dean Trotter

- Tim Brown

- Mark Ashton (not sure but contemplating if he does the fake round look)

What I'd like to know is how do you know if you've found the "one" (surgeon wise)? Just listen to my gut and see who I believe really can give me what I've asked for, show and described (pics)?

Im seeing my doctor in about 20 minutes to get a referal so I can get some money back on Medicare.

Also Dean Trotter first consultation is going to be free because I mentioned 'Real Self.com' which is good.

Thanks!

How exciting! I hope all goes well for you. Definately feel free to send me some pics if you're comfortable doing that.

I'm looking forward to the day I dont have to wear a sports bra with full coverage because of saggy droopy breasts. I'm 24 I feel like this is my time to be empowered and confident. Ive worn tshirts my whole life, never worn a low cut shirt or singlet in my life time. Time for change!

I think you have come to the right place. There are many people in here who have had both good and bad experiences from plastic surgeries. Their reviews and comments will definitely help you. I have a tummy tuck scheduled for next week and was very stressed out thinking about it. But then I came here and read few experiences of people who had a TT and that helped in reducing my fears. Basically you want to enhance some part of our body, and I want to reduce my stomach. I am sure you will find here a lot of people who had done breast augmentation and can discuss with them your doubts and fears.

All of those surgeons you mentioned are really good. I know Howard is dearer than Dean by about 2-3k. I paid 10k for mine and if you want to stay overnight it's another $500. This price is for Northpark Private Hospital. Dean has packages through them which work out cheaper. I liked Dean because he also does a lot of reconstructive surgery and he also has an extensive surgical background. If you want to check out his work send me a FR.

I know mansoor mirkazemi in melbourne also has packages and has a special on atm for a BA $9990 for everything. I havnt heard much feedback in regards of BA experiences, but there has been a few girls on here in the past that had their BA with him and had great results. I got him to perform my nipple correction and found him to be a really lovely man! Very professional and extremely comforting. And very very big on infection control which is nice. :) annddd one of his clinics in next to tiffany and co in collins street...bonus lol

Hi pinkfriday, I had my surgery with Tim brown. Absolutely amazing! Feel free to add me to see my pics. He is very straight to the point and honest, but that is What you want in a surgeon. He was the second PS I saw and I was 100% happy to go with him. I had questions answered from here, and a small list in my head for what to ask him at my consult but there was no need as he was so thorough he had already answered them for me. I think he tends to favour subfascial placement overs with round implants, but that doesn't mean he doesn't do other placements when needed, but I was happy with what he suggested and it made sense to me.

Good luck for your consult, it's very exciting!! I didn't have a dr referral but when I paid the $190 or however much it is they used my Medicare card and I got about $160 back, unsure why as I was told over the phone Medicare will rebate about $70 but hopefully it I works the same for you. Or you may require a referral I'm not sure, mine was purely cosmetic and just BA.

Good idea to get a few opinions though as different surgeons suggest different things, and it is up to you to pick which surgeon you prefer and which placement etc too.

I read about mansoor mirkazemi somewhere, someone didnt like him or something about his approach. I cant remember exactly.

Feel free to inbox me the pics or however it works on here.

I have my GP's referal to Tim Brown who I'm meeting with next Wednesday then I'm meeting with Dean Trotter on the 4th of Feb.

Does anyone know where they perform the surgery for both of these surgeons?

I'm from Melbourne I'm hoping its not outside of Melbourne

Also does anyone have a list of questions I should be asking?

I can only think of two:

Whats the brand of implant and do you need to massage them daily (as I want to avoid the implants that you have to massage every single day)

Tim brown operates at a hospital in Berwick and also beleura hospital in Mornington. He uses nagor implants, I have textured subfascial placement and was told strictly no massage

I had a consult with Tim Brown in Berwick. He was so lovely and made me feel really comfortable. I would have been more than happy with him but I really liked the work of Dr Miroshnik in Sydney and Tim only did Rounds and I wanted the more natural teardrop shape. If he had offered teardrop I would have been happy with his work!

i ended up getting mine with Dr M on 17th Dec. I went teardrop mod profile 375 cc dual plane. Now 3 weeks post op. They are looking wonderful :) must post more pics soon. I'll send you a FR so you can check them out when I get around to posting them! Tomorrow I plan to. I have my first follow up phone consult and hopefully can take this tape off and put some smaller tape on.

I can't wait to see him.

After your breast augmentation does anyone find they get more male attention or treated differently?

My doctor says I don't have much breast muscle I hope I can still achieve the look I want with my current state. I hope my sagging can be worked with. My doctor said I can't breast feed if I wanted to with my nipple I think it's inverted or something. Also is it normal to have big areolas? Mine are more like 50 cent pieces maybe a tad smaller

Hey babe, u can breastfeed. I had inverted nipples, although I never tried BF as I was too embarrassed. I've had them corrected now , u definately can... Put if u get the nipple corrected, they cut all the milk ducts so then u won't be Able to. miss Bec had inverted nipples and her BA pushed her nipples put,
