RoxyA
Hi all, I just woke up after 2nd night post op and my arm pits, side boobs and chest area below and behind my arms is still super numb??? Is it meant to be? I can now feel the incisions a bit but otherwise pain hasn't been too bad and only had one endone to sleep on the first night and one panadeine forte in the morning and arvo. If someone could shed some light that would be fantastic as TCI is closed today and tomorrow..thanks ladies!!
AspiretoInspire
I wouldn't be worried about it. We all recover differently. They will probably call you tomorrow to see how you are going and just check with them then. I say half your luck if it isn't hurting! Take care. RoxyA
They are closed today and tomorrow because of the public holiday so thought I would see if anyone else had the same thing. I have been relatively pain free which is great, just a bit worrying I'm still numb! Hopefully I get some feeling back soon!!
Newster
I had numbness beneath my right armpit which never went away. Am not sure what yours is due to- am replying primarily to this so this gets bumped up & someone with more knowledge can offer ideas. ab1990
I wouldn't be too worried about being numb. I didn't have numbness under my arms but I couldn't feel my boobs for over 2 weeks and I'm almost 3 weeks post op and am still slightly numb. AspiretoInspire
Hey hon, have they told you that they are closed tomorrow? Lots of people are under the impression that tomorrow is an official public holiday but it isn't (some of our teachers at work weren't going to go to work). ANZAC day is one of those holidays that falls on whatever day of the week it falls on so there is no day in lieu (in NSW).
pink butterfly
Re numbness, it can take a long time for the nerves to regenerate. I am 7 months post op and still have some numbness in the bottom half of my breasts. But if you are really worried I would contact your surgeon. MrsAlwaysRight
I'm 10 days and I'm numb on the bottom half of my breasts too and I'm expecting to be for a while yet! feels weird though
Newster
WA is the only state that has Monday off as a public holiday. All other states go back to work tomorrow.
RoxyA
Thanks for your input ladies! Sounds like I shouldn't be stressing out too much about it, I will contact TCI and see what they say too! Gosh I feel huge at the moment, can't wait for the swelling to go down, I feel like a body builder! Haha tannedbae and pink butterfly
tannedbae
lol. yes RoxyA, felt I had massive pecs the first week. I am nearly 3 weeks post op and still numbness in some areas - not worried though as pink butterfly mentioned nerves regenerating. When the swelling left my upper breast area it travelled down towards my tummy and then a bit lower.. was fREAKIING out big time!!. I was nauseous at the sight of this, but ended after a week or so. Wishing you a speedy recovery
Lovely
I'm 4 weeks post op and numb from incision to just below nipple, I think it takes a while and by then we are either back to full feeling or we are that used to it.
