lambi
Hey Ladies, Can anyone please explain to me why some surgeons use drains and others don't? I have a few friends that have had their breasts done and some say they did get drains and others did not...mainly because their doctors said it causes infections. herveybaymummy
It depends on how much you bleed. I had no drains and one of my close friends had the same surgeon and unfortunately she did need drains as she bled a lot.

Bigger implants are more likely to need drains
donatella
It's technique too. Some surgeons still use a technique whereby every augment needs drains (my PS uses a drain with every case) whereas others use a technique whereby they don't need them. It's a personal preference as to how they operate
