Karly
My friend told me if I got a referral from my GP to see a PS for a BA consult, I could claim back $70 from Medicare. The problem is, my doctor charges $70 for an appointment, lol I know I can claim back $30 roughly, but I'm just wondering do I NEED to see my GP beforehand? Does she need to medically assess me for a BA? Thanks
herveybaymummy
You do not need a referral to see the surgeon but sometimes you can claim back on medicare. You can only do that with a referral.
MrsAlwaysRight
No referral needed and you don't need to see them for a check up either, I did everything as a private patient and you don't even need to inform your GP afterwards. If you don't have a referral you get $38 back from medicare for your consult.
Rachy9156
I didn't have a referral and I still got some money back from Medicare.
