Hi girlies

I am a Physio and Remedial Massage Therapist , I am having my BA in two weeks and wondering if any other girls with the same kind of job or similar role went with returning to work.  It is alot of hands on and elbow work, stretching patients out etc.  I have allowed myself three weeks... and am booked out from the three weeks.  Just seeing how other ladies went

thanks xxx

Following! I am a beauty therapist and am constantly doing massages and treatments, I am yet to have my lift and implants but wondering this myself! I have told my boss my plan to have surgery and she was great, very understanding and told me she has had a few employees have time off for boob jobs. We talked about it and as I will be overseas for two weeks getting the op, when I return I will have another week off then she said if I need more time just to let her know. I thought about getting the massage table out at home and seeing how I went, where I was at pain and movement wise so I could get a bit of a picture of how I was going and if I was ready to return.

Do you work for yourself? Are you having just a BA? Xx

I'm 4 weeks post op and not at all in a physical job but I would say I would of felt fine to do that type of thing last week and 100% would be ok this week. I occasionally get small twinges, I guess it depends on how you feel after a few days. I suppose if you went back and didn't feel up to it you could use sick leave?

So I am a remedial massage therapist too and I gave myself. 4 weeks off and when I went back to work I didn't struggle but I felt weak, my pecs weren't as strong, and I did struggle to treat fully and strongly. After that first week I felt I was back to normal. So I would say at least 4 weeks for sure . It's more the strength in your chest that may be diminished, and that's if you don't still have pain because that would be another thing to deal with

I train my chest hard and heavy but have stopped three months ago to keep the muscles loose for my upcoming surgery.   I still train shoulders, arms etc... I just did my last shoulder workout today actually lol... surgery in two weeks just going to focus on abs and lower body and stretch out the top.  I use my elbows a lot during treatments and push with my body weight... I am sure I will be fine, maybe like you say weak for the first week until you ease back into it.  Thanks so much for your help.  How is your recovery going any tips or advice for a fellow RMT :))))
