meowmi
I was wondering how the post op care/procedure is for girls who traveled interstate to The Cosmetic Institute in Sydney. I'm worried about how my boobs will be after I finish the surgery and fly back to Melbourne ): What if theres a problem and they can't pick it up through photos? DanniP
This is definitely something you'll want to keep in mind. If you do have problems you can organize Skype appointments with your surgeon so they can see what you're talking about, but it's definitely not the same as having your surgeon just down the road. Sending photos, Skype, email and phone calls are the way you'll be dealing with TCI post op and whilst I didn't mind that (as I've had no problems and haven't needed to contact TCI since my surgery except for my Skype CC check ups) I know there are a few ladies that get frustrated trying to communicate that way and not being able to just "pop in" when they want to. Something to think about before you book in and make sure that's something you're OK with .
meowmi
Oh I didn't know you could arrange skype calls! Thats a bit better then. Yeah, I'm just worried things might go wrong but I think that for most girls there haven't been major issues? Anyone have any experiences? JennaB89
Hi duweewee, I've seen a few girls' posts on here that have had issues with complications / substandard results requiring revision. However, all surgeons make errors at some point & TCI's revision rate is 0.3% (or at least they told me that). I'm seriously looking to book with them too and I would hope my surgery goes smoothly, touch wood! From what I can see, yes there are more posts about revisions by TCI girls than for any other surgeon but I believe that's due to the sheer volume of TCI girls. Don't TCI do 5,000 BAs a year or something?? I'm from interstate and I reallyyyy don't want any complications, I do feel safe with TCI though & generally if it's surgeon error I think the revision surgery cost is $2k-$3k. If you have CC and haven't taken out the CC guarantee then a revision costs $6-8k.
meowmi
Hey JennaB89, yeah TCI is one of the major clinics where girls get their boobs done. Thats one of the reasons why I decided to go with them even though I'm from melbourne. I've booked consultation and surgery for July 17th & 18th. Just been so excited about my surgery that I didnt really give the post op stuff much thought. 0.3% isnt very high considering how many surgeries they do. Lisa21
Hi ladies, I have my BA with Dr Kwok on Wednesday and my consultation is tomorrow. I have flown from Queensland to get them done and I was nervous about flying back as well. I rang TCI and asked that it's definitely safe and they said yes as long as I leave 48 hours later.. I have also spoken to a few ladies on here which have also flown interstate and they were perfectly fine which make me feel soo much better! I will be taking out CC just incase
meowmi
Hi Girls I just booked my BA with TCI yesterday my dates are 29th of July 15 ! I'm wondering if I should pay the extra amount for the capsular contracture guarantee ? I've got my consultation and surgery booked fro July 17th and 18th!! I was wondering the exact same thing as you, and I figured that I'd just get the guarantee. Its not much compared to what you could have to pay if your body rejects the implants. Adel223
Hi all. Long time reader first time contributor! I am from Adelaide and considering a BA in September this year at TCI. I have been unable to find any decent and reasonably priced surgeons in Adelaide (I welcome any suggestions though). If I travel interstate to TCI, it's unlikely I will have any family with me post op and am wondering if any of you have been in a similar position? I'm interested to know how you received post op care for the first 12/24 hours. Thank you in advance

DanniP
its $490 and it covers all the surgical costs for new implants and such. Within the first five years anyway . It's not a lifetime cover
