Sagittarius
Probably silly but I see a lot of people talking about post op bras and ones they are purchasing before their surgeries. My surgeon is giving me 2 x post op bras and I am just wondering is that what other people buy different ones than they are supplied post op? Are there differences? Any recommendations on particular brands? Also, finally how would I go about estimating my size for a post op bra?
Pepper9
This is probably better answered by someone who has had surgery already but I can tell you that I bought them pre surgery as I know i only get supplied with one from surgery so was always planning on buying another one beforehand to last until I can get out to the shops post surgery which for me won't be until I can drive. Got it now because there was a sale on and ended up buying two sizes as I don't know what will fit!! I'd be interested to hear from those who have had surgery whether they bought any beforehand too and if they were able to wear them after!! violett
I had to buy before hand and take it with me on the day of surgery to put on straight after. I got measured around my chest for the band size which won't change post op, and cup size was really just an estimation but post op bras are usually stretchy so there is a bit of flexibility there with size. Do you know what bras you are being supplied with?
herveybaymummy
I was supplied with 2 post op bra's. They were two different models so I could rotate them as I felt comfortable. I ended up buying 2 Target Post op bra's as well (to sleep in) but I fluffed and they no longer fitted so only wore one of them once. Oops haha! I was very happy not to have to try and find the right size post op bra myself. I obviously suck at picking sizes even post op haha. I know there is loads of ways to measure which size you need depending which model bra you buy. If you get 2 supplied though I say see how you feel post op and see if you still want to buy more

I got supplied one post op bra from my surgeon and got two carefix bras from the zodee website in the anna style. I wore these more then the bra my surgeon gave me and am still sleeping in them. I just used the size guide off the website and they are super stretchy so had no issues.

Do you know what bras you are being supplied with? I'm the same. My surgeon recommended to buy a Marena post op bra with interchangeable hooks in the front. Anyone else bought this brand? Everyone seems to have gotten the Carefix Anna brand
Kritta
I was supplied 2 berlei post op bras (style Y130W) by my surgeon and purchased the carefix Anna bra myself, as I saw people talking about it on this forum. They offer two completely different supports and it's nice to have a change occasionally. I must say I actually prefer the berlei so much more though. Much better support and comfort. I can only wear the carefix Anna bra for a few hours and the pressure on incisions or nipples gets too much, but my Berlei ones I don't even notice at all. I've just hit the 3 month mark so now will be able to wear normal bras, but I'll prob keep using the Berlei ones a lot as so comfortable and will definitely keep them on at night to sleep in.
