Hi lovely ladies,

So l am looking at getting botox for the first time but l don't want it to be over the top, probably just my frown lines done and around my eyes. Hubby is dead against it (but he was with my boobs but gave in  ;) ) Any recommendations or advice please. I want it to be subtle, l think he is kind of freaking out l will have a mask looking face lol. I am going to do it while he is away so hopefully if l have bruising it will settle and he won't notice.

TIA, Gabby xx

Hey gabby, I get botox like just above my eye brows as i get a frown looking line between the brows but really it just looks like that because of my muscles above my brows over working so they have like raised up. (if that makes sense) I dont tell my partner and he still has no idea. Everyone's dif with how they bruise etc but i find with botox you'll only get the tinyst prick marks that you can easily hide.

Different story when it comes to fillers haha, i got little bruise marks around the lips and they swelled up heaps but didn't look to crazy

I got a tiny bruise at the corner of my eye for botox and it wasn't noticeable, fillers on the other hand... nice bruise on my cheek (very prominent spot) and it didn't hide well under makeup either.  I nearly made an appointment for my forehead and frown (and between the eyebrows) today.  Chickened out as I'm scared it will leave marks.  Might wait until the school holidays.  Only have to contend with hubby then.

Hi Gabby, it's not like that anymore (the 'dead face' look I mean). You still have some movement. You can raise your eyebrows up. You can't really draw them together much. As the shot wears off you get more and more mobility back. Also, you have to wait anywhere from 4-8 days to see any real effect- so be patient. There isn't any bruising, it doesn't hurt and it only lasts around 3 months before you want to top up the dose.

Hi lovely Gabby  :). Hon I doubt you'll have any bruising with botox, or dysport (cheaper). When I first started I only used to get between the brows and brow lift done and would get awesome results that NEVER looked mask like. You will love how subtle it looks... hubby and friends would never notice, they'd just think you look fresher but not know why :).

Thank you lovely ladies! x I'm just hoping now that l don't get a botox headache as l'm prone to headaches and migraines! l'm thinking of taking some panadol or neurofen beforehand, do you think that will help? Excite but just a tad nervous lol.

So l hit the botox wagon today! Very minimal swelling and only tiny needle prick dots. I'm hoping it will last more then three months because otherwise it will get to be very expensive if l become addicted lol. Crazy as it sounds l was more worried getting botox done then my boobs lol. Go figure! xx

Hi Gabby1,

I'm a chronic migraine & headache sufferer and have been for 25 years. Under the suggestion of one of my clients I went and got Botox to alleviate these issues. It's been 6 weeks now and I haven't had even one headache or migraine! So stoked! I did some research and found out you could use it for teeth grinding and jaw clenching as well so I had the Botox two weeks ago for that. I'm still teeth grinding me a little bit but the shocking jaw clenching is totally under control. ?
