Over the muscle & Capsular Contracture??

Recommended Posts

So I've finally plucked up the courage & booked in my BA for the 20th August with Dr Rahdon (PS) in Geelong!! :)

It's so exciting but I am a bit worried that he has suggested over the muscle because I know the CC rate is higher with overs. I mean, I'm glad to be getting overs because I have enough breast tissue and I believe they will look great, and the recovery will be quicker etc.. My only fear is the higher rate of CC. That being said I would be getting textured Mentors (mod plus, 400-450cc) and textured implants are meant to reduce the incidence of CC.

I don't know whether it's worth exploring the options of dual plane or under the muscle simply to reduce my chances of CC?? I'd be interested to hear your ladies' experience, i.e is CC really that much more prevalent with overs? I trust my surgeon completely that overs will give me the result I want, I just reallyyyy don't want to develop CC because I'm frightened of it :S

Thank you xx

Just because he has suggested it doesn't mean that is the only option. If you feel strongly about getting "unders" I would convey that to him 😀

That's true thank you RH4K :) The thing is I love the idea of overs & the only reason I'd consider unders is for the reduced chance of CC. But I  don't know if I should let my fear of CC influence the implant placement... Decisions :S

The difference in risk is so minimal and mentor have a great low rate of CC. For some reason people feel the need to assume that one placement is needed over another even when a socialist has given you their best recommendation. Don't get caught up in the over vs under garbage, rahdon is really great I would go with his suggestion. Should you suffer CC he will look after you, his rate of after care is very credible I can't remember her name now, oh KikiK or something had him and got CC and he made the whole revision a breeze and I do believe she had been ok since

Thank you so much Donatella!! You've made me feel better about my Mentor overs :) Yes his aftercare is amazing, Kiki wasn't charged a cent for fixing the CC (I've searched thru some threads) and he would have done an amazing job with the revision. You've made me feel comfortable with my overs, thank you x
