BA surgery, not sure where to start?? Help?

Recommended Posts

Hi all, im new here and u thought you might be able to help me.

I have been wanting to have breast implants for a very long and finally im in a position to do it but dont know which doctor's are well recommended and not. Unfortunately i can share this with my family cause they think i should be happy with what I have. .but i tell you after 4 children,  well all i can say is they look like deflated ballons.

i want to feel like a woman, and wear a pair of bathers comfortable and not have to constantly worry about bloody chicken fillet inserts lol.... said to say but my almost teenager has passed me in that department.

Anyway,  if any lovely people wish to express their experience,  both good and bad,  that would be helpful. Also how much $ does it range from? Thanks everyone

Welcome!

This is where i first came for advice when i started researching for my BA. The first thing you should read is this: http://www.realself.com/guide/breast-augmentation-glossary it has all of the definitions of what we talk about on here and will help you to understand you options when it comes to implant size, type, placement etc.

If you go on to my profile and look at the recent posts i've made you'll read about my experience as i only had surgery last Friday with Dr. Mark Lee in Perth. All up (anaesthetist, hospital fees, surgeon's fees, implants) the cost was $12k.

If you would like any more info or have any questions let me know :)

My advice would be to research, research and research! Go to consults - I went to see two different plastic surgeons before deciding upon a cosmetic surgeon. But my BA was straightforward. I didn't need a breast lift - cosmetic surgeons don't do lifts. Mine cost $9 750 for the BA. Go and google boobs so that you know the look you are after - some ladies love the fake look where as others want to look natural. Think of your body frame and what size of implant would suit it. If this is your dream, do not give up on it. :)

I also agree to start with lots of research. The hardest thing is to pick a surgeon, get that right and they should be giving you the best advice about what will achieve the look that you want. Price will depend on what procedure, whether you need a lift or not and the expertise of the surgeon you choose. Price therefore varies from about $6,000 to $15,000. Some women who are deflated after breast feeding find they need a lift as well as implants which will cost towards the upper end of that scale.

I would start by looking into surgeons - the pages on here is a great place to start and then try and get honest feedback on surgeons which can be harder as sometimes negative reviews disappear. I'd try and find women who  have used the surgeon and private message them to ask questions to ensure honest feedback.

The choice between cosmetic or plastic surgeon may or may not be a difficult one for you as well. There are lots of threads on here about the differences and peoples preferences.

Good luck!!

There are lots of threads on here already about questions to ask at consult if you use the search function should be able to find heaps of ideas!

In relation to other query it depends on the surgeon. Mine had galleries online and yes I got to feel implants during the consult! Good luck!

I had a list with every question I could think of, though quickly realised that he had already answered them all without me having to ask! I got to see Vectra3D imaging of what my before and after would look like and that was amazing and really really helpful! Also got to see and feel the implants in a range of different shapes and sizes!

boobalicious I've got my BA with Craig Rubinstein in 2 weeks so can let you know how it goes. He has Vectra 3D imaging which I think helps give you an idea, and I also tried on sizers in his office, and he let me take some home to try on with different tops. If you can, take a friend or your partner with you to your consult as there is so much information to take in. It really helps if you can talk to someone about it afterwards. I took a lovely friend who had already had a BA so it was great to hear her thoughts afterwards as my head was spinning.

Hi mezmoz, i had theconsult today and i have to say i was quite disappointed.  I was rushed and out of the door in under 1 hour after havjng to wait for my scheduled appointment time as they were late.

he never even explained what profile hp, moderate etc.. and the photos on vectra were horrible. I told him i want high profile to fill my upper pole and then vectra gave me sagging looking boobs  i will have a consult in 2 weeks to let them know iam not happy.

hi flatty81,

I had a consult with hamish just over a week ago and was quite impressed and have another appointment scheduled for this week with hubby.

What are you stats i you dnt mind me asking?  What did he suggest?

He toldme that 450cc would give me what i want to achieve.

I asl had a consult with tim brown and was also impressed with him too.. he told me 465cc .

They both agree on about the same size so im wrapped about thay but the only issue i have and why i cant decide because i liked and felt comfortable with them both is the implant placement.

Brown wants to do sub fascial placement cause i have enough natural breast tissue and i can choose where i want it.

Farrow wants to do dual placement.

How did you choose?

I let Hamish choose for me in the surgery, I chose the approx size then he told me while he was drawing on me right before surgery that there's always a perfect size to suit everybody as I was a bit worried

I've got 350cc in my left and 300cc in my right and they are perfect for me I also have round ( as I wanted upper pole fullness and perky youthful boobs) HP smooth dual plane

I can send you some photos if you like ?
