I've always been taught, and always believed, that if you don't have to money for something upfront don't get a loan for it. Only exceptions are emergencies or items/assets that won't be likely depreciate in value such as a house. I would never put a surgery on a loan because you're screwed if you need a revision in 12 months time!

Do you have a mortgage? If so you'll realise it's quite difficult to pay for things in cash without getting finance!

A credit card wouldve been much cheaper, especially if youre going TCI if you struggle to get 6k for surgery then you probably need to hold off on it for a while because it'll just be tougher ? I find it interesting to think how many people actually chose this loan to help cover the costs...even a credit card with interest still has 55 days interest free and then its generally around 13% if you get a good one, youd think people would work this out ??
