jdm
Hi guys, I've paid my deposit and now starting my checklist. I'm having my ba+bl in Bangkok with Dr Pornthep, flying out Feb 16th.Can I have a few lists of must haves to help my stay and recovery be a little more pleasant please? What were your godsends or should haves? I've never been overseas so I'm nervous about that to begin with but I'd love some insight into what helped make you feel comfortable. So far I'm hearing I need:A boomerang pillowAlcohol wipes & baby wipesMetamucil Ice packsHot water bottleA few post op bras (what do you recommend and how do I know what size to get?)Laptop and hard drive with movies I'm traveling solo but in a group with Cosmeditour. Anyone else heading over there around then? Thanks x

jdm
I hear there's a usually a bit of trouble 'getting things moving' in the days after surgery. I have bought some Metamucil capsules to help with fibre and the dreaded post op bloat ?
Blossom
Dare I ask why??before my BA I read that the post op pain killers made it difficult for you to 'go' for several days afterwards, so I bought some as a just incase.... I didn't end up needing any pain meds aside from Panadol so thought I'd be fine - wrong!! I ended up taking them 3 days after surgery as I was feeling very bloated and hadn't gone yet and was glad that I had them on hand ? I only ever needed the 1 dose though, so just get the smallest box you can. LaurenT

Things you don't think about so it's really great that all of you post-surgery people share helpful tips. Thank you! jdm
Jugs
It's not just the painkillers, it's the general anaesthetic too. I didn't take any painkillers after the day of surgery because they made me vomit. You'll definitely want at least one dose of laxatives to get things moving. I would take make up removal/cleansing wipes. I couldn't shower until one day post op and I didn't feel up to washing my face because I was so nauseous. They're great for freshening up along with baby wipes. I agree with the dry shampoo too. Even though I was able to reach one day post op I didn't feel comfortable in the shower long enough without my post op bra. It feels like they're going to fall out of your chest for a few days! PrincessEm86
Dare I ask why??Yup I tried Metamucil and I already have a high fibre diet and ended up needing laxatives - coloxyl with senna were what my doc had recommended.A button up Pajama top came in handy and some loose singlets to cover the fluid retention. Carefix post op bras are very comfy- the clips over the zipped one for me.Pen and notepad for recording when you've taken meds and when they're due to be taken.. Small travel pillow for car ride home from surgery between new boobies and seat belt.A long /cross over handbag to wear on your shoulder for when you go out to coffee and walks as tucking a purse under your arm hurts your new side boob and carrying a bag on your arm gets exhausting. gracie.d
A good underarm wax, as it is mission impossible to shave there straight after surgery. MrsO, Kayla89 and Ameliaa
