Night sweats after BA

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm four weeks post op, everything is healing well, incisions are closed and clean, no infection present (no redness, swelling, fever, pain). But for the last two nights out of three I've had excessive night sweats. I wake up drenched, it's not even just sweating it is pouring out of me and saturating me and my bed. So I googled it and the only information I could find was talking about auto immune rejection and explant (thanks Dr Google). Of course I'm going to ask my doctor if it continues and I'll bring it up anyway at my 6 week check up but just wanted to see if anyone else had encountered anything similar.

Other than this everything is actually going as it should and it may just be because of my history that I'm obsessing and looking for any symptom. I thought it might be my body detoxing from all the medication I've taken over the past month.

TIA xx

Definitely have a chat with your surgeon. Like subtle and discrete mentioned, maybe it is your body resetting itself after the decrease in medication. The body is an amazing system and has its own wisdom. Make sure you keep hydrated with lots of water and herbal teas that don't contain caffeine in them.

Thanks, no drains. I did gain four kilos overnight after the surgery but I've already lost that weight so I thought the worst of the fluid retention was over. It's been two nights out of four weeks so I'm not stressing just wondered if it was something others had encountered.

Yep me too, before surgery I was the kind of person that was always cold, but I've noticed since the op that overall I'm warmer now, and that leads to sweating a lot more than I did before. So yeah, detoxing plus higher body temp would be my guess.
