Under muscle - how much time did you take off work?

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies

I really want to book my op for May but I have recently started a new job and I am already off for 2 weeks in July.

I work in a office, so no heavy lifting ect.

My surgeon has said I need about 2 weeks off I know everyone is diffrent but just roughly how long did you have off?

Thanks :)

I took one week off as well. I had my op on a Friday and by the following weekend I was out and about. I was still tender but was so sick of staying home. Although everyone is different, I think if your job isn't too strenuous you should be good with a week off .

I work in an office. I had 2 weeks off and I'm so glad I did. I was originally going to have 1 then the Dr recommended 2 so I booked the 2 off. I couldn't of gone back after only 1 week. As it was the 1st week back at work, my back hurt heaps and it hurt to reach out for things, though it was bearable with panadol.

Everyone recovers differently so one week might be enough for you. Good luck :)

Me too - office job and I'd say the first three days were pretty awful but by day 5-6 I was pretty happy moving around the house. I think a week is fine if you're basically just sitting at a computer all day.

I've taken 2.5 weeks off, basically I have worked my RDO's and banked them, plus with Easter just around the corner my actual time for "leave" works out to only be six days!

I work in a pretty active job and will most likely be desk bound and passenger with another work mate if I need to go out... They understand I may not be 100% for another 2-3 weeks after

it just depends. Overs also heal better(?)/faster than unders... Another thing to consider

I had my BA yesterday, I took 7 days off and feel like im going to need every minute of it, but am confident that week two I will be functioning well enough to do most of my daily routine other than lifting.
