Pousti or Revis

Recommended Posts

I'm hoping someone will be able to help me. I think going to the US is looking more and more inevitable when my time finally comes.

So my question is would you choose Dr Pousti or Dr Revis? Dr Revis recommends 700 or 750cc UHP with internal bra and lift to be determined in OR. He said he cannot make any promises about the lift because it depends on my scar tissue when he gets in there.

Dr Pousti agreed on an internal bra but does not decide on cc amount or profile until in the OR. He takes in my goal photos which are hanging on the wall to directly compare. He said he doesn't recommend reducing my areolas at the same time unless we don't go too big and he didn't say whether I would need a lift.

Dr Pousti has a malpractice case from 2004 but it doesn't go into details. WhingingPom who hasn't logged on for awhile went with Dr Pousti and her results are amazing which is what prompted me to look into Dr Pousti again.

Im torn on what to do. Also with the internal bra if we are doing it to raise my boobs higher up on the chest wall that means my nipples would be lifted, is that right? Because after taking photos last night the left nipple position in terms to where it sits isn't too bad at all it's my entire boob that sits low on my chest making my collarbone to crease measurement too long. The right was 0.5cm lower it's also bigger. Mainly it's the shape I'm unhappy with, pregnancy just didn't agree with my boobs.

Oh and the quotes were very similar in price. I believe there was only a $250 price difference not that I'm choosing based on price.

Dr Revis would be my ULTIMATE choice. I think his work is phenomenal. He would be my dream surgeon if i could have anyone in the world to do it. Would you mind if i asked, roughly what kind of quote price he gave you?? Around 4 years ago he gave me a price that was very very reasonable, however with the cost of travel, the Aussie dollar i decided to continue to plan my BA/BL in Australia. :)

My quote was $10750 US. The only thing that worries me is that there's a few really negative reviews and I've heard of 2 ladies have their internal bras fail.

Ive also been reading on Dr Tavakoli and I'm curious what permanent barbed sutures are.

Hi there I am from NZ and went to Dr Pousti last year.  I have just over 2000cc. I got my silicones changed to saline and I love the look so much much more.   My experience with him was great my boobs look amazing looking at going back next year for a little more in boobs (another 500cc) and a mini tummy tuck, muscle reapair and a little lipo after having kids.  You can go and have a look at my photos on his website, I will be giving him some more pics soon, says I am from Oakland New Zealand funny. He is such wonderful surgeon and really  nice person, lovely bedside manner. His staff are lovely too.

He will take on board what you want but in with safety too. Please feel free and ask me questions. Cheers Nicki

I used Dr. Pousti and highly recommend him. He and his office staff are amazing. I flew in from out of state and would do it again without hesitation.

I had 492 hp silicone and Dr. Pousti replaced them with 1070 overfilled saline. I also had the internal bra procedure. I am very satisfied with the results.

If I had to do it all again I wouldn't change a thing.

You can see my results on his website I am an actual patient who intends on going back to him next year.  Think its purely coincidental, maybe just because I started talking about Dr Pousti others followed who knows... Like I said ask me anything that you want to know about going to see Dr Pousti.  As you already know he is one of the best in America he does them all the time and a great job too.  Be happy and glad to help if I can cheers Nicki from NZ

Dr Gaffiend is a California surgeon now based in Queensland who does Saline overfills. He's the only one I know in Australia

I spoke with his theater nurse (Sasha) who said there's a new silicone implant available up to 1040cc

Still if your keen to go stateside I'd add Dr Amy Bandy to Revis and Poisti and candidates

How did they "follow" you though? I presumed his business has a "google alert" set for his name- so they can flood with reviews- whether real or fake. Leaves people feeling a bit duped and wary tbh.

Good Morning, my name is Brigette and I am one of Dr. Pousti's patients. First off, choosing a surgeon should not be determined based off of the quote. I understand that if you are coming from out of the country, the expenses will add up. However, this is your body we are talking about. Dr. P sat me down with him a couple of times and we discussed a lot about my case. Not every surgeon is perfect but I can assure you that he will make you feel comfortable and if I were to get surgery again, I would want it to be by him. He honestly is a great plastic surgeon. He communicates with you through email, phone, pictures, and once you arrive and meet him , his goal is to give you the best experience in his office. You want a surgeon that is going to be sensitive yet straight to the point and upfront. I believe that is him. That is why I chose him and met patients of his face to face. I was able to see their results. Before I decided to go with Dr. Pousti, I saw on his website that a lot of his patients do come from a distance and choose him b/c of his work. Keep in mind, his is also well known for reconstructive surgery so many come to him if a patient did not have a good experience from another surgeon. communication is key and being realistic with where your body is naturally starting from is also big to keep in mind. I def recommend using the internal bra, and any advice and realistic points he gives you. He performs surgery every day! Not just on certain days, therefore the more you practice something each day the better and skilled you become. Choosing an implant size can be hard but he has every implant size and different profiles in the OR, and samples of some in his office to help you get a better idea. He chooses them based off of your current photos, the goal board, pre-op notes that are in your chart, and always keeps in mind what you said to him. The internal bra is something I strongly believe in. It keeps your breasts in place and does act as a support. I understand you have concerns about the lift and about the areola placement but keep in mind there are three stages and Dr.P will tell you which one will work best for you and will tell you which one may or not work for you. He gives you a result not just to look good at that moment but to have a great result 6 months down the line. Continue to do your research, look at his work on his website and if you ever do decide to visit his office, he always has patients willing to share and show you in person their different results.  I hope you have a good experience and a safe travel wherever you go.

I am also a patient of Dr Tom Pousti's and the reasons I chose him were his location. Being in California helped. I knew that based on his location he would have a huge turnover in patients and although he does, he found time to answer EVERY SINGLE MINOR AND BIG question I had. Being a bigger girl, I couldn't have an augmentation in Australia,  the surgeons here are unsympathetic and dont care that its your body and your choice. They just tell you to lose weight. I wanted larger implants but I was going for a certain look. Dr pousti doesnt make hard and fast decisions about your breasts in a consult simply because no one can say what your tissues are going to do once they're sliced open. You may have super stretchy skin that will accomodate a larger inplant or the complete oppisite. Dr pousti determines implant size by the ultimate look you want because at the end of the day the cc size is irrelevant. You wont be looking down every day saying ohhh 500cc or whatever. Youll just want them to look good naked for yourself personally and in your clothing. He will also ask you if you want a fake look, a natural or somewhere inbetween and will ask for MULTIPLE pictures so he can help you find your happy place in boob size and shape. I researched probably every surgeon in the States, Australia, Thailand and Korea for about 5 years. The malpractice case with Dr Pousti I also discovered was something to do with someones toe. I ended up reading it quite a few years ago now but basically it was because their body wasnt healing well and this person obviously attempted to sue. Keep in mind, Dr Pousti can only help you so far with your healing process. The rest is up to your body. That being said, I am having major weightloss surgery here in Australia later this year and when I need surgery to remove excess skin I WILL be going with Tom again. He is DOUBLE board certified and is a plastics AND reconstructive surgery specialist. He is very talented and artistic. He works out also which I think helps with his stamina during surgery to help him keep going like its a walk in the park. His support staff as absolutely amazing women and men. The girls in the office treat you like family and the anesthesiologist makes you feel very calm and safe (before drugs ;) ). It is ultimately your choice. Your money. You time and YOUR BODY. This is merely a recommandation based off my experience.

Goodluck

This is just ridiculous. Why is it some surgeons do shady things online like delete any negative reviews, pose as patients, etc? Especially the reall well known ones. I'm waiting for something to be cleared up by a surgeon re: internal support and that will help narrow down my choice. Oh and I found XL inspiration, might go look for the other thread.

Brigette and Miss21477701 have both joined the forum for the 1st time and posted incredibly similar reviews within 6 hours of each other.  Same writing style, same layout.

Both have used the same incorrect grammar - Brigette writes "......based off of the quote" and Miss writes "...... based off my experience".

Coincidence?

If Pousti is as good as everyone is saying why would he need fake reviews?

Hey @Cupcake85 I actually think we might have similar things that we want fixed, although i'm going for a revision first with my surgeon to see what else can be done as i've only had one surgery so far and my surgeons fees are waived etc so this is easier than exploring another option already. Do you mind if I send you a FR would like to see how similar you are to my situation and who you end up going with :)  In terms of surgeon both seem like reasonable consults, obviously not having an in person consult makes things a lot tougher but with pousti he at least sees all your goal photos etc so hes not going to do something like give you mods and not enough cc's etc theyve both agreed on an internal bra, also not sure about lift as I guess theyd need to see that in person etc to be more definite and same with cc's so maybe it's just looking at patient photos, trying to find more on the net about both etc and the rest coming down to that gut feeling :)

Hey @naomi49 I'm happy to accep FR but I don't have any photos up. I'm just do depressed with what pregnancy did that I'm embarrassed as well as hate them that much.

I had a consult with a Miami surgeon who said he would redo my lift and replace my implants. I'm just waiting on clarification on if he recommends internal support (he uses Galaflex). I sent him my goal photo and he didn't specify profile or cc amount but did say he would use Mentor memory gel silicone. My other option is Dr Dona. What a shame he doesn't do the internal bra. I love his XL work.

This makes me nervous. My partner and I was a baby in the next 12-24 months. I'm really worried about what pregnancy will do to my boobs :(

I'm prone to sagging though. I sagged after weight loss, had a ba only when a lift should have been done, sagged even more, had a lift and switched to partial unders, second lift on right as it didn't lift enough. The lift held up so well I think I fell pregnant 2 - 3 years post revision. I've been told my skin is really stretchy so things like weight loss, pregnancy, etc will affect me.

Dont be nervous. Some women have little to no changes. You may be one of them.

Also even though I hate my boobs they can always be fixed and it really is worth it.

That's true, and I guess it's always an excuse for an upgrade/upsize :) thank you for sharing your experience. It's hard to find info about BA results after pregnancy.
