Girl1999 59
I'm booked in for 19th feb (excited!). I've had a mammogram which was all good. I assumed I'd get blood tests done but they've said I'm fit and healthy and don't need a blood test. Is this normal? Does everyone get blood tests before? Confused. Thanks! misstons 1,102
Two boob jobs - no ever mention of bloods. If you’re healthy there’s not really a need. Girl1999, sabP and I HaveBoobs

TheFox 101
Never had a blood test before surgery and I’ve had three surgeries for my breasts and another 2 on top of that
donatella 5,801
I’ve had 3 breast augmentations/revisions and never had bloods for any. You’re only under for about 1-2 hours so pretty safe procedure. I had to have them recently for facial surgery but that was a 4 hour procedure with potential blood loss so they needed my blood type and levels. Have never issues with boobs ? I HaveBoobs 951
I just recently had my BA 12 wks ago and no blood tests, if your a healthy weight ,your not under that long and minimal blood loss if any then no need. Girl1999

Are you over 50? you dont need to have a mamogram before breast augmentation unless you needed a mammogram in the first place.
Girl1999 59
I'm 43 so maybe that's why they sent me for a mammogram? I would have done one anyway just to be on the safe side. It's good to have a 'baseline' of where you are before the op.
thecuriousone 55
I wasn’t asked to have blood tests but I’ve done them anyway for my peace of mind. If you’re worried take the tests. It’s free anyways. Go to your GP and say you need them for surgery. They’ll send you to pathology. I’m always low on iron so I really wanted to know my levels. They were low of course and I was given the go from my PS to take supplements. Girl1999
