Lizdexandivy
Hi guys, I'm a mother of two (4 & 7 years old each) who breasted for a very long time and then joined a gym and lost a lot of weight. When I married I was a very full DD - would have been an E most likely but I couldn't get my hands on one. Now I am a small B. which means lots of empty space and no fullness at all in the upper poles. For almost all of the sensible reasons, UNDERS sound the way to go, but I am worried about what they will look like when I'm exercising - I'm a PT, spin instructor, BodyBalance instructor and soon to be Pilates instructor. We do lots of movement in & out of plank position which requires bracing through the pecs and obviously pec strength. That said, I really quite like the rounded look of overs (of the appropriate size) but as I already have a fair bit of "sag", I don't want them sagging again straightaway. I'm looking at round implants - medium to full projection and hoping to go from my empty B to a D, textured to prevent further sag. But recovery time is freaking me out. Any advice? Bec, sully
Hiya, Depending on how good you are with mind over matte recovery can be anywhere from 5/8 weeks with unders. I got unders and was doing cardio by 2.5 weeks and weight training by 5, but only light upper but was doing full lower body. I'm back training completely normal now, half hour heavy weights every day and a minimum 5-10pm run daily depending on how much time I have. When I had my consult Dr P likened my thick chest muscles to that of a man haha so if I pulled up fine I'm sure you will be too. You need to listen to your body and if you feel like you need rest then you must, it's a small time frame of recovery for what os hopefully 15 years of nice boobies! I think unders are better with regular exercise and you can't really tell when the muscle contracts it kind of flattens it with bench press and chin ups( kind of like your daily massage getting done for you) lol. Best of luck! Bec
Lizdexandivy
Thanks Bec, I'm definitely hoping to get back into the cardio by about 2 weeks too - if I can. I'm not planning to start teaching spin again to the end of the 6 weeks, - but one can dream I guess. I'd love to know what cardio you did - did you do any cycling? and if so, how did your boobs feel when you were hanging onto the handle bars? And when did you start running again? (Im really hoping you're not going to tell me you did 3.5 weeks of the elliptical - I hate the elliptical!) I'm actually worried about how I'll go without the endorphins. 2 days off in a row is enough to send me into a massive spin. I don't do a lot of weight traing at the moment (have had a bit of a neck injury so overhead exercises are out), but I do a lot of body weight stuff - planks, pilates and yoga moves etc. Thats really interesting what your dr said about your thick chest muscles too - I was wondering if that would put us at a bit of a disadvantage recovery-wise! (more muscle to "damage"). I feel like Unders is absolutely the right way to go for me, and worrying about recovery is very short-sighted, but I know other people who depend on exercise like I do will understand where I'm coming from (and why my perspective is so messed up ) I just cant afford to be unable to get into a plank position for months - imagine a pilates instructor who can't hold a plank! lexie44light
I've heard that 'gym junkies' generally get overs so there is no distortion of the implant during upper body exercises. I work at a gym myself but am getting unders as I dont wear tight fitting tops when working out. The issue is that unders are actually 'subunders' in the fact that the implant is half under the pectoral muscle. So when you tense the pect it creates the impression of cutting the implant in half - well in really muscle girls anyway. Which is why body builders get overs as it isnt an issue. Hope this helps
Lizdexandivy
I work at a gym myself but am getting unders as I dont wear tight fitting tops when working out. Lexie - what a brilliant point! I can't believe it didn't dawn on me sooner, that when I'm doing my resistance training that I could just wear a loose fitting top LOL! And yet they let me drive, and raise children! I don't think you can fully understand how much better (and maybe a little silly) you have just made me feel
lexie44light
Haha glad to help!! Dont worry I've spent months weighing the positives and negatives of overs vs unders but then realised that being able to have children normally is much more important then looking good working out Where abouts are you having your incision? I'm going through the crease which I know will have a longer recovery time but I dont want to lose nipple sensation or have visible scars
Lizdexandivy
I'm doing the lollipop because I have to have a lift as well, so I will have that vertical scar from nipple down but I'm not much of a scarrer historically (cant see my incisions from the caesarian at all). He said he could make me into a small B with the breast tissue I have left, but I think I'd be disappointed. I still picture myself as big-breasted - I'm always shocked when I see myself in clothes (I was a FF when I breastfed!). If I was going for a standard BA, I think I'd go for the same approach though too.
Bec, sully
I was doing stair runs as cardio and treadmill walk but on an incline of 14 so I didn't have huge impact running. I too at first thought having dense muscle would hinder the implant but was soon explained to that it helps push the implant down into the socket. Mine had drooped quite significantly day two and Rachel had said they usually take 5/7 days to drop like mine had. Unders take longer to recover but are well worth it
Minimel
Thanks guys for this post....Liz don't feel bad about stressing about getting back into the gym! Thats something I'm a little anxious about, I'm no gym junkie but def a regular, I work out most days, do a lot of weights and have worked hard for the body I have (even though its not perfect) so I don't want to lose too much of that in my recovery!! AI was also under the impression as a more 'muscular' girl in the chest that I might have a longer recovery as there was more muscle to damage but I'm glad to hear thats not necessarily the case!
