Breast Surgeon Advice! :)

Hi Ladies,

Has anyone had their BA done with Dr Tavakoli?

I have recently been on Dr Tavakoli's official website and have emailed him with my queries and picture. I think it was part of the 'online consultation' option that was available. I did this two nights go and only received an email on consultation procedures and costs. I am not sure whether I was supposed to get an email back in regards to the questions I have asked. I also don't want my picture to be floating around the office lol

Does he actually get back to the questions asked? Also, the consultation fee is a little pricey. Is it worth it??

I also want to know that (as i am still looking around at surgeons) I won't feel pressured to sign anything? I mainly want to find out more on the procedure, what he would recommend etc and want to feel comfortable when asking a million questions (lol) without being obligated to go ahead if I am still unsure.

Or if anyone could also share their experience during consultations and could recommend me a good surgeon in NSW that would be great!

Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks ladies :)

Hi BoobieDreamer,

There are a few of us who have gone with Dr Tavakoli (I am booked in with him in a month). I sent through an enquiry and pictures on his website too but my only questions were on price so I'm not sure whether your questions will be answered by doing the online consult or not. I went for a consult with him, yes it was pricey but 2 other surgeons I looked at were similar prices, so I thought I would go and see Dr T (I liked his before and after photos best) and see what kind of vibe I got from him and his staff and decide after that whether I wanted to spend the extra cash on another consult with another surgeon.

His staff were lovely, the consult was about an hour all together but only about 15mins or so with Dr T, the rest with his staff. They go through ALL the info you need to know (which after being on here for a while I kind knew most of it already - thanks girls!) and there is plenty of time to ask all the questions you need. You can have another consult with him free of charge afterwards too if you still have more questions or you can call his staff anytime as far as I'm aware...

I didn't feel pressured to sign anything, after the consult they took us to the booking manager and she asked when I would be looking at surgery and which hospital (he operates at 2) and gave me a quote, there was absolutely NO pressure to book or sign anything, which I quite liked.

As far as the 'online' consults go, I don't think you can beat actually going and seeing and speaking to your surgeon first anyway, I think you really need to get a feel for him/her and make sure you're on the same page etc etc....

Hope that answered most of your q's!! Good luck!!

Thank you for replying Minimel :)

Yeah, my question via the online consult had to do with whether he thought it would be best to wait until after having children to get BA done. I would like to have children in the next 3-4 years. Either way, I think I would still go in for a consult just to gain an understanding of what everything entails because this could really help me make a decision on whether I should go ahead with it or not. How long after your consultation did you know you wanted to go ahead with Dr Tavakoli? Did you sign up straight away? I'm glad to hear that there was no pressure. I think that's something that is really important to me especially because I am still in the 'should I or shouldn't I' phase. I hope you don't mind but I have sent you a friend request.

Hi BoobieDreamer, I think the general consensus I get from reading this forum is that no surgeon will ever pressure you to do this just to "make a sale" or something like that. They are doctors first and foremost and definitely want to make sure you're 100% before you agree to any surgery :) I have seen plenty of happy Tavakoli customers on here too! Good luck with everything!

Oakley I'm so glad to hear that! I wouldn't know what to do if I were to be put on the spot like that! lol I'm getting excited at just the thought of going in for a consultation! lol

molros, that's what I am worried about! As I don't know for sure I feel as though I'll be waiting a lifetime to get my boobs! Its a little tough though, because I also don't have the support from my family or partner either. I brought it up with my partner today and he was like "not this again, I thought you said you changed your mind about it, don't talk to me." :( I don't think he realises i'm quite serious about it, whether I choose to do it now or after I have kids. I wish he would support me and at least come with me to the consultation...but he said he wouldn't go. *sigh*

Hi there

I had a consult with Dr T yesterday. Lovely lovely man and his staff are really friendly.

There was absolutely no pressure to sign - I was given a quote and we discussed possible surgery dates, just so I knew what I was looking out in terms of a timeline should I go with Dr T.

I am going for a consult with another surgeon as my hubby insists that I do - which I am grateful for I have to say as I came away from the appointment v confused! Only in relation to size - Dr T thinks I should go a lot bigger than I had anticipated and I need to get my head around that. Another consult will definitely help I think in that regard.

As I say - absolutely lovely guy - good luck!!

Any Q's just ask xxxx

Ladies. Can I be blatantly rude and ask what you were quoted? Detailing what implants youre getting because that changes the price a bit.

I was quoted $11,635 and have heard of quotes a lot less than this and wondered this is the case for anyone on this site?

This is speaking strictly of Dr Tavakoli's cost. I'm booked in for 2 weeks from now.

Not rude - great Q. My quote was $11,355 (Nagor are a bit cheaper I believe)
