Benniray
Hi everyone, I have my BA booked with Dr Teerasit on the 29th of this month. So excited! A gf and I are flying over and have consecutive surgeries. Just putting it out there to get any advice or handy hints from anyone! Also, does anyone know if Bumrungrad has shared room? Like if my friend and I will be in the same overnight room? Also, I am thinking 350CC (currently an A cup, hoping to get to large C or D) and thinking of periareolar incision. Has anyone got any comments or links to posts for similar surgeries with Dr T? Thanks guys, PS i will update after my consult and surgery
Amy04
Hey Benniray! I had Dr T at Bumrungrad for my BA and I am soo over the moon with my results. Feel free to add me as a contact if you wanna see my before/afters. Here's my op 'diary': http://www.plasticsurgeryforum.com.au/forums/showthread.php?2783-BA-with-Dr-Teerasit-at-Bumrungrad! As for the size, most girls say they wish they went a bit bigger. I ended up getting a whole 75cc bigger than I planned, and don't regret it! Benniray
Thanks Prue! Request sent I see you went through GHT, how did you find the service? My friend and I booked through bumrungrad direct so we have been getting advice from this forum on all the bits in between. How did you find the pain level? And I'm not sure if this is a stupid question, but I know they use Mentor implants, are they the memory gel? A friend had her BA done in Perth and her surgeon used Mentor implants, what he called 'natural feel' and hers feel 100% natural. I'm hoping they have them at Bumrungrad but I looked in Mentors product guide and couldn't see anything... You are so lucky that your consult and surgery were the same day, Teerasit told me he likes patients to have a day in between to sleep on the decision (same day consults must be allowed if you go through GHT) Where was your incision? Sorry if I missed it in your diary, I couldn't find it though. OMG I'm typing this on my iPhone and it just deleted it all.... Thank god for the auto restore function. I know what you mean about the size, I keep reading in forums. But I'm just so scared that it will look unnatural because I have quite a small frame. I guess I'll decide when I get there, not long now!
Benniray
Hi everyone My friend and I landed late last night and were at the hospital first thing this morning for our consult. My initial consult was booked for 830 and my friend booked right after my for 9, but we had an email from Teerasit asking us to come at the same time. Not a problem at all. The hospital has to be seen to be believed, it was amazing. They ask you to arrive 30 mins before your appt to fill out the paperwork, so we rocked up at 8 to fill in paperwork, have our weight, height, BP and temperature taken. We met with Dr T who went through the possible complications with us. Then Juree helped us decide sizes. Something interesting which I hadn't read about here is that whatever size you try on in the bra and decide is right, they add 25CC to account for muscle compression. So I tried on a 350 and liked it, but once she said the implant size would be 375 I freaked out and tried on the 325 (for a 350 implant) that's what I decided on, so we signed MORE forms and then paid. We saw a girl who had gone through GHT in the waiting room who was meeting Dr T after us, which explains my friends appt change. I guess they give priority to GHT clients (Teerasit wouldn't allow us to book consult and surgery same day but that is allowed for GHT patients) but I guess that makes sense. I had taken out $$ in Australia, because my bank offered a ****ty conversion rate and I assumed that paying by card meant that the hospital charged you in baht which allows your bank to choose the rate (28baht to the dollar)- if I had done that my 128k baht surgery would cost $4500! When I paid in cash, the hospital gave me the rate of 32 baht to the dollar so i paid $4000AUD My friend paid by credit card, and the hospital charged her in AUD which was perfect, but they set the exchange rate lower (30.8) so she paid around $4150 but avoided the banks crappy rate and fees for international transaction. After that we went to have blood tests - they took 4 vials which made me feel a bit woozy but would be worse if you we're one of the GHT girls which consult and surgery on the same day since you have to fast before your surgery. Then off to have a chest X-ray and we were done. My friend and I are off to explore Bangkok and have an early night ready for my 930 surgery tomorrow. More later xx

Mrs-D
Hi Benniray, Im booked in at Bumrungrad in 11 days to have BA+lift done, and the payment side of things have really been a thorn in my side. I just cant decide what to do. I hope you dont mind if I bother you will some questions?? Did you pay cash in Thai Baht or AUD? Originally I was going to pay with my credit card, but my bank here said I would be charged 2% of the total purchase price with their crappy exchange rate, plus an international trasfer fee. Total rip off if you ask me. So I decided I would take cash (AUD) and exchange it once over there and then pay for the surgery in Thai Baht, and hope I get a good exchange rate. I see its been fluctuating recently. What do you think would be the best way to go about it? Thanks for your help xx Hi everyone My friend and I landed late last night and were at the hospital first thing thus morning for our consult. Benniray
Hi lexie44light, I accepted your request. Good luck for the wait, I was beside myself for the 3 months between booking and flying here! I'm 163cm, 51 kg and a 8A or B. unfortunately I have period boob at the moment so they are a bit bigger than normal and I am hoping that my 350cc wont be too small when im not hormonally swollen! But I have friends who had their surgery in Perth who went from a flat chested A to a D with 375.... So I should be fine... Here's hoping! Benniray
Hi Mrs-D I paid in AUD which is what I would suggest. You could transfer it to baht at a bank over here but I found it easier to use the currency which I am familiar with, especially when the exchange rate Bumrungrad offers is on par with the thai banks. I did feel a little anxious flying here with so much cash in my bag, but I had no issues at all. I am happy to help if you have any more questions, ask away:)
lexie44light
Thanks for asking that Mrs D as I was also wondering how to pay. I think I will do as Benniray suggested and pay with either AUD or baht in the hospital. I know my bank said they would charge heaps so even though I dont like the idea of carrying that much cash over there it will have to happen! Mrs-D
THanks so much! You've just made me a happy lady. I was fretting about even exchanging and keeping track of the baht. I will definately pay in AUD now. Have a blast tomorrow. Looking forward to hearing all about your surgery details. xx
Benniray
Hi all, Surgery done and dusted. Would have updated earlier but there has been some problem with the forum web page. So after being admitted to hospital I was set up in the bed with a drip and lay around for 2 hours waiting for doctor T to come and draw on me. The anaesthetist came and spoke with me and I mentioned that previous surgeries had made me nauseous so she put something in my drip to fix that. Next minute I'm being wheeled out into the OR and strapped down to the bed. It's all very strange but that's the last thing I remember. I woke up in recovery and the first thing I did was ask for pain relief which was quickly given. I can't speak highly enough about the nurses, they are so sweet and caring. I lay In my room pretty out of it waiting for my friend who has her surgery directly after mine with dr T. She got wheeled in and we lay there having whacked out conversations with each other. The morphine they give you made me so nauseous so I kept needing more injections to stop me spewing (which is torture with new boobs). The nurses will bring you meals in but let me tell you, the last thing you feel like doing is eating. I had a few soft drinks which perked me up. And there is wifi in the room so I made a few calls to friends/family/boyfriend which I have no memory of! I had a lot of trouble peeing after surgery (probably because they made me use a bedpan - ew) so at one stage I had 3 nurses escort me to the bathroom and cheer me on. They all started clapping when I finally peed it was so cute! I was so glad for sharing a room with my friend, got a bit boring otherwise. We were discharged around 5pm the next day. I had to pay an additional 270baht in med charged, I think for the anti nausea shots. In the take home meds they give you antibiotics, anti nausea tabs, pain killers and rohypnol (for sleeping) my friend was also given a bottle of mouthwash...? The rohypnol doesn't make you sleep for long, maybe 4 hours tops and the pain killers (I got given tramadol and my friend got paracetamol and codeine, which is weird that we had different) aren't super strong. I brought mersyndol from home which I would highly recommended as it is just OTC and works a dream for pain and sleeping. Also, I suggest bringing two sets of ice packs for your room, so that when one gets warms you can put another straight on. Hmmmm I can't think of anything else to add just yet. Watch out for 'boob farts' when you move around you get there gurgling noises from your boobs haha. Tried to go for a little walk yesterday (day 2) and was exhausted by it. But it was nice to be out of the room. The pain hasn't been too bad at all, and I have had no trouble moving around, picking things up or getting out of bed (but I have strong stomach muscles thanks to Pilates) Make sure you bring laxatives, and pack you room fridge with little snacks to take your antibiotics with. Oh, the boobs - how could I forget to mention them? I have 350CC smooth high profile gel through areolar incision. They are very swollen at the moment but I'm so happy so far. One more swollen than the other but I've been taking the arnica to try and get the swelling down. Looking forward to doing some bra shopping before I leave so that I have one or two nice things to wear when I get home. It's 4AM in Bangkok and I'm just typing this as I woke up to change ice packs, so if I've left anything out that you want to know about just ask me
DGKelly
Hi, just wondering how your surgery went? I am looking at getting mine done in the next 2 weeks in Thailand! Very excited, especially after reading your post above!
Benniray
Hi DGKelly, The surgery went fine, no complications or anything. I would highly recommend Dr Teerasit at Bumrungrad. Is there anything specific you want to know?
DGKelly
HI Benniray, I am looking at any date between the 10th - 14th Nov. I fly into Singapore this Saturday from Germany, then make my way over to Bangkok. I am hoping to have the consult and then Surgery the next day or the day after. I just read your last post and I don't think it wasn't there when I was reading last? Boob farts?lol! So far I have sent pics for my consult at Bumrungrad. They haven't assigned me a surgeon as of yet. Its pretty exciting. I have done research and had a consult in Brisbane but just never had the courage to do it. Now that i have been travelling Europe since July and have 6 weeks in Asia I decided to do it!!! What hotel did you stay at?
Benniray
I stayed at the president solitaire, it's walking distance to Bumrungrad but they also have a free shuttle and the rooms are quite large so you won't feel cooped up when you're on bed rest. The facilities are quite old but still functional. I would highly recommend Dr Teerasit, he is amazing. Good luck with it all and congrats for working up the courage! lexie44light
Yayy glad your surgery went well Benniray and thats awesome that you were able to get up and walking day 2. Did you already know you wanted 350cc or did Dr T reccomend that to you? And how was he in the consult? Congratulations on your new girls!! lexie44light
Oh and several questions that I just remembered Did you have drains? And if so for how long? Did you have to have the 'strap'? Did the hospital give you a compression bra to take home or did you already have some? And how much in total did it end up costing? Thanks!
Benniray
Hi Lexie44light Sorry about my late response! Regarding my size choice, I always had 350 in my head. Teerasit doesn't help with your sizing, his wife Juree does that. You tell her what size you want, put on a bra in that size and then play with the implants til you fill it! What are the drains? I do have to wear the strap, it not so much uncomfortable as annoying, so hard to hide under clothes! I had some post surgery bras, they really helped me because u went from no boobs to decent ones. It was a big change. In total the of cost me $4000 - the extra 270 baht as I checked out of hospital was incidental, $9 or something. Flights and accom was $1300 and my insurance $350. All up, so much cheaper than Aus. I've shown my boobs to my friends back home and they are so impressed. One is more swollen but has dropped quicker than the other, but they will even up soon I'm sure!
stephvale
great info guys, i didnt even think about payment and currency conversions, how has your stiched been with Dr Teerasit? And recovery alos, im looking to book with him
Benniray
Stephvale I opted for nipple incision as he uses dissolvable stitches which don't need removing. After reading about the attitude of Aussie doctors to Thai surgery I didn't want to go for crease and have to face my GP. Recovery has been fine, I had full arm movement from Day 2. A little bit achey but I was able to stop taking painkillers a few days after surgery. The only annoying thing now is waiting for them to drop at the same time! Right is goig faster than left. But I'm only 10 days post surgery... Good luck booking, Dr T is fantastic.
lexie44light
Thanks for replying Benniray I'm glad your recovering well Did he mention how long you have to wear the strap for? Its Christmas just over two weeks after I get mine and I would kinda like to be able to wear normal clothes by then! Sorry so it was $4000 in total for your surgery? Thats what I've been quoted. Hope your lefty catches up soon!
Benniray
Everyone is different so it fully depends on how quickly they drop. I am 2 weeks post surgery and I still need to wear it to get the lefty down (it's really bugging me, it hasn't budged!) but I don't wear it if I am going out or something! I wouldn't plan on being ready to wear normal clothes, 2 weeks out you will still have tape and patches over the incisions which are very obvious through clothes! Benniray
My left breast is finally dropping! 2 weeks of band wearing. My right implant looks a little misshapen though this is a combination of the sub muscular placement and swelling. Apparently it can take up to 6 weeks for all the swelling to dissipate and the muscle to settle over the implant. I think my right pectoral is a lot more developed (being predominantly right handed). From the looks of my left breast, a lot off the 'swelling' has gone down, but this relates to how hard it feels. the size of the actual boob is the same as day 1 post surgery but it is much softer. I was aiming for a C cup and am sitting at an 8E or 10DD! Lucky I didn't get boob greed and go bigger than I thought.
lexie44light
Thanks for the update Benniray!! Thats so good about the lefty finally coming down. Did you have a consult in Aus before you left and how did that compare to your consult at Bumrungrad? Its less than two months for me now, getting excited! I bet you cant wait to get your summer clothes on soon
