Confused Over or Under Muscle.....Gym Junkie

Hi'ya All,

I have been following this forum for a few weeks now during my BA journey and love it!

I have seen three surgeons with all different opinions.

I was wondering if anyone has any advice on whether to go over (teardrop brazilian was the recommendation) or under the muscle ( round was the recommendation) . I am 165 cm and 57 kilos athletic build and go to the gym 6 times per week and do weight training and cardio. I was wondering if anyone else is a gym junkie and has had a BA and what they opted for??

Thanks:)

Gym junkie here! I have smooth round unders. They look very natural (I didn't want the fake look).

I'm into weight training and cardio, not allowed to do push-ups and chest-isolating exercises anymore, but am otherwise unrestricted. A few movements still feel weird, mainly pulling downwards but they're only 3 and a bit months old so I don't think I'm fully used to them yet.

Hi Miss SJ

Thanks for the reply, when you say not allowed to so push ups and chest isolating exercises...is that short term or long term?

I noticed you went with Dr Ashton and he is one of the surgeons I saw, lovely guy..he also recommended round smooth silicone for me and unders!

Do you think if you went over they would have appeared less natural?

As far as I know, it's permanent no-no for the chest stuff. I don't mind, small price to pay in my opinion! I can still smash the arms, core, shoulders and back without any issues so I'm still a happy gym junkie :D

In my case, round overs would have looked very unnatural on me cos I had very little upper pole volume and the upper border of the implant would have been very visible.

Overs look wierd while you train if you are in to strength training, but if you're doing the right thing and wearing a good sports bra, who cares! I used to be SO into strength training, getting over it in the last few weeks because having DOMS 7 days a week just doesn't suit me. I have zero upper pole fullness so I'm going unders.

Working out after BA is something that has seriously worried me. I'm getting unders on Tuesday. I have no choice because i don't have enough breast tissue to do overs. Issue is that when I work my pecs you will see the implants moving. To what extent I will have to wait and see. All three surgeons I saw have said that I can def return to doing all upper body weights inc push ups after at least 6 weeks. It's just something you have to put into the mix when weighing up the decision. Good luck with your deliberations!

hi KitKat1976

If you have very little breast tissue (ie a cup) then you will have no choice but to go under the muscle. the problem with this though is that the breasts will not "move" naturally. In fact every time you flex your chest muscles (eg during training) it will move your breasts. this is why women bodybuilders always go for overs if they have sufficient breast tissue to pull it off.

Overs also make for more natural movement/swing of the breasts.

Hi kk,

I train ( weight train) 6 days and run 8/10 kms a day and have even competed before. I'm 51kgs, 161 cm and got 400cc unders. I'm three months post op and am back into full training, heavy weights and hard cardio. The only thing I'm struggling with is chin ups, everything else is back to normal. The risk with tear drop and isolating chest exercises is they can turn.I got rounds and find they don't move with training just get flattened out like a pancake whilst muscle contracting but its just like a massage.

Thanks Bec for your input. Do you find that when doing chest exercises they also move a lot up toward your armpit? I have heard this.

Also do you know of many girls who have had BA and we're in your position in terms of exercise and what they did? I have no poit of reference at my gym:)....that I know of! I have been recommended the furry Brazilian overs teardrop so apparently they don't move as much!

No worries, no they don't move that much at all. I thought they would but it's actually not that bad. I only know of a friend who had tear drops and hers turned without exercise. She had overs I think. Had revision late last year to have a new one put in. I only know girls that have had undesirable other than that. There would be girls on here with overs though I'm sure, and that exercise. I do know with furry though that they stay where there placed so get an experienced ps

I have anatomical overs and was very concerned about them turning as I'm very active and do crossfit and box 5-6 times a week. I emailed my dr when I became anxious and he said they won't move as they are furry brazilians and they just stick there!!

I'm only 12 days post op but I'm back to lower body workouts and I have been cleared to box (lightly) in 2-3 weeks and Dr H told me I can do pushups and chin ups in 3-4 weeks. Im not concerned about how they look when I move as I don't think you will be able to see that in my singlet and I think having moderate profile they are not around my chin so I doubt any of my movements will effect the aesthetics of my chest.

The classes we do are so full on that we all feel like dying the whole time and are not concerned about how other people look!
