Hi girls, as you can see, i only have 13 days to go!!!

and i cannot decide on a post surgery bra!

there are limited ones in Myer where i live and in Target.

does it really matter which one?? and my surgeon thinks i'll get to a late D cup should i buy this size or get a 12 DD?

it really confuses me. if i'm a 12 B now and i go to D cup does that mean i will be a 12D?

Hi allaboutboobs, you don't have to get a bra. My PS recommended to just get good crop/sport tops at least until swelling goes down. Your sizing will change for awhile so will your bra sizes. My PS put a Lorna Jane one on me after surgery so I just got two more of the same. They were only $20 each. Hope that helps. Good luck for your surgery, so exciting!!!

I wouldn't stress too much, and just go for a crop in whatever size you are - small, medium or 8, 10, 12 - when you feel up for it go and get fitted for a better bra if you want and that can last you until you can buy underwire. It's impossible to say what size you'll be!

I was just looking at all my old bras, they are mainly 10B and 12Bs (padded and non padded) and the 2 post surgery bras I've been fitted for are both 12Ds. The lady told me yesterday it looks like I'm a DD but the surgery bras are different so I'm not going to stress about sizing until I can wear underwire. Today I'm wearing an Ahh Bra type thing and it's fine :)

I wore black tights (not too tight) and a semi loose button up shirt. They dressed me after surgery and I didn't shower for the rest of the day. Next day I wore tights again and a different button up top when I went to my check up. By day 2 PO I felt okay putting shirts over my head very slowly :)

I have heard things about this spray too but I didn't try it?

I didn't have the spray either. For bruising and swelling and pain relief I found ice packs great but I had lift too. Surgery day I wore really light pants and button up top, got em from bigw for about 10 - 15 each. I wore button up tops for a few days, easier than stretching your arms up.

Just any sort of sports crop - preferably medium impact or higher - just for support. I got a great one from Target on sale a few weeks ago for $6 - since I'm usually a 10 in crops, I grabbed a 10 and a 12 as well.. I made sure I got ones that I could pull up over my body so I don't have to use my arms too much in the first few days :)

Hi, I got these soft sports bras from Kmart for $7! I looked around too and these were so affordable and have kept all of them as were really good value & quite nice (for a sports bra). Recommend a 14 I'd say. They are surprisingly really good, do up at the back. I also got the Lorna Jane ones (like a nicer arh bra) in size L. I wear these a lot as not allowed to wear a real bra for 6 weeks! A little awkward when I get cold at work....haha!

Hiya Minimel, I wore nothing or just sports bras for a week & then found the LJ ones on recommendation from my PS's nurse. Bear in mind though that I was told not to wear a bra for 6 weeks & only if necessary (ie. out & work) to wear a less supportive bra. So not sure if it's ideal for everyone or not sorry! They aren't really supportive you're right....:)

I'm not feeling supported whenever I wear a crop or Ahh Bra type thing. I actually just cut the straps to one of my crops and re-tied them tighter so be cautious buying crops that are bigger than your usual size. The front will stretch to your new boobs just make sure the straps are good enough to hold your new girls up :)

Hi Oakley,

I have the Target 3 pack, soft bra in a 12-14. They make me look like a 12 year old at the moment so would never wear them normally! The size is good around the band, the next size down is too tight (back fat) so is this what you mean with the front stretching? I'm really hoping these will do the job, I don't want to buy loads of crop tops that I'll never wear again..

Just that the straps are long it seems and don't really hold them up like I wanted. The front and back were all good but just feel the straps could do to be a little shorter. I got my cheap crops from.Big W though so they're probably all different. I swear I have about 10 post op crops and bras and I can find a fault with all of them. Haha I'm a shocker!

Argh don't worry Oakley I know what you mean, I've bought a sports bra to wear for the first few days (in two diff sizes) and those ah bra things, I figure that will have to do me (thought i'd just wear two of them??) until I can try on some others after about a week....the hardest thing is trying to buy a good PO crop/bra without having ANY idea what size you will be....plus I've never actually had to worry about support so I don't really know what good/bad support feels like yet......argh!!! :S
