kanook
Hi ladies First of all thanks so much for all the lovely picture comments that you've made on my postoperative pics, makes me feel really happy! Lasts night before bed I started to feel dizzy and nauseous so I took one of those anti nauseous under the tongue tablets that thenurses gave me. Took a sleeping tablet and was knocked out for the whole night. When I woke up this morning I felt so sick and went and threw up! Went back to sleep for a few hours and I've just managed to eat some toast and take my antibiotics. I feel a bit better now, but really lethargic. I slept most of yesterday too. Is this normal? Anyone else felt this way post op? I've been wearing my compression bra day and night, its a size large and starting to feel very tight! Forgot to ask wheni can switch to crops. Thanks ladies! I know I can. Call dr h anytime but I just wanted to see if this is common or not.
oakley
Absolutely normal. I got that really, really sick feeling on my first night and was so close to throwing up before I had an anti nausea thing. I also sleep a lot during the day, including up until yesterday, and still feel lethargic and dizzy at times. I asked Dr. H and he said all normal, he also explained that some people react funny to the antibiotics or painkillers and will vomit. Perhaps stick to just panadol and valium if you can as these seem to be easy on your tummy, and make sure you eat first and then take your antibiotics. My bra got super tight by day 2 and I ended up just keeping it on anyway but emailed Dr. H and he said you're welcome to swap to something more supportive hope you feel better soon! Platinum
Sorry to hear you are feeling sick Fitboobies Has it just started all of a sudden or have you been feeling a bit off the whole time? And are you still on pain meds or just panadol? Sometimes the stronger meds can make you feel sick. Hope you start to feel better soon
kanook
Oh thank you Oakley!! So glad to hear I'm not dying lol. I really think its a combination of all these drugs....will ween off the strong pain killers today and switch to panadol. Thank god my parents are looking after the kids while my hubby is at work today!

msqint
Hi Fitboobies - I became a bit nauseous/queasy in the stomach on the day after the op. Didn't worry about getting anything to take for it, they said it happens from the anasthesia. It passed after a good nights sleep ie two days post op. Hope you feel better soon! janeybaby
I was sick day 1 post-op.. And REALLY sick day 3 post-op. I couldn't keep anything down and it was terrible. It was the codeine in panadeine forte that made me sick. So just watch your meds. I took them more as a precaution and it would've been better if I'd just stuck to panadol. New girl
Totally normal. I felt sick the day after but better after taking the zofran under my tongue, I think its a combo of everything really, by day 3 when I was off pain meds and doing a bit more I felt very dizzy and lethargic. Definatley eat prior to taking the keflex they can make you very sick otherwise. You will feel so much better soon, I promise, it doesn't last very long, then you will have to tear yourself away from staring at your hot boobies in the mirror!! Kitteh
Have you been eating properly? Low blood sugar after fasting for a GA could be the culprit. Even if you have no appetite you should eat to keep up your blood sugar up. *hug*
becba
Hi Fitboobies, sounds .like its from the meds, i havent had any nausea but i havent taken any panadeine foorte, just regular panadol and one valium a day before i go to bed. Also was thinking could it be the pressure from the bra? I was advised not to wear any bra, not wven a crop top, just a singlet for 3 weeks then a soft bra, and finally an underwire from 6 weeks. Reason being they didnt want anything aggravating the incision lines and pushing boobs together - they said its better for them to heal their natural way. Who knows huh, hope you feel ok soon. Drink lots of water. x
kanook
Thanks ladies, you guys rock. It's 2pm and I literally just made myself get up and have a shower and have something to eat. Back on the couch now though lol. I will definitely lay off the pain meds and just stick to Panadol. I think I'll make myself take a short walk around the block soon, as the doc recommended that as opposed to being totally immobile all day. Thanks again, don't know what I would do without your advice and help!! (I'd probably be driving dr h crazy with annoying questions). oakley
I think going for small walks is what helped me recover quickly and get rid of my swelling! I was up and doing about 15 minutes each day, although it did make me sore for the rest of the day and I probably overdid it, but I think it was good to get the blood flowing

katjs
Hi Ftiboobies, hope you are feeling better soon:) Can you take a few extra days off from work if need be?
bettywilma
Hi Fitboobies, hope you feel better soon. Were you taking Panadeine Forte, that made you feel unwell. I rarely even take a Panadol, so is it better to take stronger pain relief for only a day or so and then taper back. Would this help with the constipation issue? Best wishes BW xxx
