MissCheree
My surgery went so smoothly and I woke up feeling super cheery, just tight through the sternum. I'm propped up on the couch with my eyes wide open and I'm wondering if this is just the adrenalin am I going to crash soon???? I would love to hear all your post op stories
MissJulzie
All I can say is congrats!! I'm pre-op so can't help with anything else. Good to hear you're doing well tho!!
Boobs2B
So glad you are feeling great. Never felt wide awake after an op myself though. Id go easy on the Endone. It builds up in your system and makes me feel ultra groggy after a while.
My time
Hi MissCheree I can remember feeling a ill high on adrenaline too, came home feeling all excited and famished couldn't stop eating. The anesthetic wore off around 2am (I went home same day ) had my drains in too until i went to surgeon following day .... my next 3 days I was a bluesy....what have I done and are they too big omg they look weird etc.... But I had a few friends that had had b/a and they reassured me it was all normal .... I was in pain up till around day 5 just hard to get up out of bed and sleeping was the pits....I couldnt raise my arms higher than my waist and the toaster was too heavy till around day 4 .... I took my pain killers up till day 5 and coloxyl sena to get my bowels moving was extremely bloated. I used a heat pack between my shoulder blades behind me was 3 pillows and 2 under my arms , all I can remember was feeling engorged and swollen till day 4 then the feeling of milk letting down shooting thru my boobs ( if you've had babies you will know what I'm talking about. I hope some of my experiences will help you. )) congrats x
MissCheree
Get excited MissJulzie it'a awesome! Good advice ladies - the pain is starting to creep in on the sides and my tummy is def swollen! They gave me panadene forte which i'm trying to stay away from because it has made me feel ill in the past. He gave me antiobiotics to start tonight did you both have them too? I have those poop tablets on hand as well hehehe

Mumof4
Glad to hear you are doing so well misscheree!! After my op I was the same, came home and was wide awake for awhile. Tiredness hit me later on, had some meds and had my first night of horrible sleep, two weeks later and I'm still not sleeping much! Hope you can get some decent sleep it helps so much with recovery. MissCheree
Hopefully the first night is the worst - I finally got sleep at like 1 or 2 but only after I took more Valium and mersyndol! 2 weeks and still no good sleep, That is awful! How are they feeling though??
Mumof4
The really bad muscle pain that I had initially has now gone but still have sternum pain at night. If I can sleep sitting/laying at the right angle it helps with how much it hurts. Atm boobs are quite sore and sensitive to temperature. Feels and looks like the deeper bruising are now coming out. PS said it will take me about 6 to 8 to be back to doing things normally. Can't wait!!!!
janeybaby
Watch the panadeine forte! It made me sick as... Stick to panadol or mersyndol and you should be right... I never used the Valium and stopped the endone quickly coz I thought it was making me sick...
