I am a postgrad researcher from Curtin University in WA investigating the stories and experiences of women who have undergone any form of genital alteration including cutting/circumcision/labiaplasty/piercing before moving to Australia. The aim of the study is to publish research on the experiences and needs of this population in order to better inform the Australian Government policy on the social, well-being and medical treatment needs relevant to this population from the anonymous stories and perspectives of the women themselves. I am reaching out as I am currently looking for 9 more participants to take part in a 60-90 min voluntary, confidential interview (will be de-identified and take place either over the phone or in person) as part of a study approved by Curtin University's Human Research Ethics Committee (HRE2018-0755).
