when I get unders, will they be smaller when they settle and the swelling is gone, or will the go larger as the overs do? might be a silly question..sorry:p

With overs, there is no fluffing involved so when the swelling goes down what you see is basically what you get.

with unders, when they are first put in the muscle is tight and compresses down on the implant, making it appear smaller and tighter. As the muscle relaxes the implant 'fluffs' and appears to get larger and squishier - how long this takes depends on the person.

Many girls find they have swelling early on and as that starts to go down they may get a little bit of boobie greed and get down about the size. then the muscle relaxes and fluffing happens .... :)

Mine have got a bit bigger already. Day 7 I was like 'wow'. I haven't got measured yet, but Dr. Harwood said I can go into a bra shop to get measured now if I want. Any recommendations where to get a good measurement? Do you go topless when they do it?

Blonde - i dont think brazilians take any longer to fluff, but they do take longer to soften.

Pixievibes - did dr H give you an indication of what you might be measuring? after my 1week PO appointment i got measured at Evie Boo lingerie - it is only a couple of min walk from Dr H's surgery and they cater to D+ cup sizes so was perfect for me as i knew i would be measuring pretty big. the women there was so lovely - i have never felt so looked after!! I have been to 3 or 4 different stores, including bras and things and none of them have asked me to go topless. they generally get an idea of your band size, and guess at a cup size, get you to try it on and then come in and see if it fits or not - then try and find one that does fit based on that .... thats the best i can explain it haha but its pretty exciting!! i went and got fitted again yesterday and was told i am a 8G - so that is bigger than my initial 1week PO so even if you do get measured now it is unlikely to be your final size!

Ok, thanks.

I don't really want to be trying on big fancy underwire bras yet and push them together. I might grab a tape measure and try to do it myself. No, he didn't tell me what size he thought I was.

well just for reference - with a tape measure i come out a 10D (or i did a week ago according to Dr H) ... yet i dont fit into anything smaller than a F cup and only fit into the tightest 10 bands!!! When Dr H measured me he told me i was measuring a 10D, but that i was at least a DD, probably an E and then i got measured as an FF in the boutique so it is all very very confusing!!

Thanks Lozz - I was wondering about exactly what "fluffing" meant.

So in the case of Brazilians overs, do you agree that the implant will soften with time?

And if so, due to gravity, will that not mean that the silicone in the implant will move slightly downwards - just like natural breast tissue tends to do?

I always thought that this process of "softening" and subsequent "dropping" of the implant - yielding a more natural look/feel is what is meant by fluffing ;)

My experience is that they get bigger! It has been like the softer they get, the more they try to "fluff" over the top of my bras. Even now {recently} the tops of my boobs want to flow over the G sized cups and the GG are fitting better... thinking I might go back in and be sized again to make sure.

definitely agree with Lozz! :) Dr H measured me as a DD, but I am actually a G/GG cup when fitted at Evie Boo {highly recommend a visit here} and Big Girls Don't Cry {recommend too, but Evie Boo gave me much friendlier service}. I was topless/braless when the lady at Evie Boo took one look at me and said "you are a 6G or GG" haha! She came back with everything they had in my size and asked where I had them done :o I proudly told her Dr H and she said she would be recommending his work to anyone who might ask her about implants lol. Actually neither of these stores, and they specialise in larger cup bras, used a tape measure to size me... guess it just comes down to their experience :)

Hi, I used to work in a bra shop fitting bras and the first thing I learnt was that every brand and style fits completely differently and its not surprising to be completely different sizes in different styles...so tape measures aren't much help... However some things to look out for are that the band of the bra is tight but comfortable around your body...so u can check this without the interference of your boobs by doing the strap up around your body with the bra upside down (without your boobies in it) if you know what I mean. Ideally you would want to get a couple of fingers under the back however you want it to be level around your body...not arched or riding up at the back. Another important thing to be aware of is that the underwire is resting on the firm area of your ribs on the side, not on the soft breast tissue. Once you have determined your back and cup size (e.g. 10D) the 3rd step is to find your style of bra based on the size of your breast. So for example I need to wear a 10D to allow the underwire to reach around the sides of my wide chest...however as I am one week pre-op I have a NO boobs I need to choose extremely shallow padded styles where the inside of the cup looks almost flat. If I had large breasts I would be looking for styles that have a deep cup to accomodate my breast tissue. So the 3 steps are: Back band, width of cup underwire, depth of cup (style). The width of the cup underwire and the style can have a little play on each others sizes, so just play around and try them on remembering to check the position of the underwire on your side.
