Dr Bernard Beldholm

Recommended Posts

I had a consult with Beldholm for repair of a significant diastasis, hernia and abdominoplasty. He was the only surgeon the local GP would give me a referral to. Turns out they must have some deal going on. I did further research and was advised to look for a surgeon with formal qualifications of a plastic surgeon. Beldholm is a specialist cosmetic surgeon. I was advised to have my procedure carried out by a qualified plastic surgeon. I had to find another medical practitioner to write me a referral for any of the plastic surgeons in Newcastle. There are some very reputable PS in Newcastle. Given the complexities and risks associated with the procedures I was not prepared to have a cosmetic surgeon do the work, even though Beldholm was located nearer to home. I should also add that the quote for having the work done in Maitland was much higher than other quotes, on account of the cost of anaesthetist fees (huge difference, i seem to recall something like $200 an hour more for anaeth in Maitland compared to Newcastle); hospital fees were much higher as well. Happy to give you info on the PS I used - send me a FR and we can discuss..:)

I had a consult with Beldholm. To be honest, out of all the surgeons I saw. He was the least professional. He didn't bother taking any measurements. Just told me to put on a sports bra and shoved different sized implants in there. Didn't bother checking my breast width etc.

Hi Bittaz,

I'm booked in for BA with beldholm in November but I'm having serious second thoughts as I can't find any positive feedback about him! Who else did you go to a consult with?

Thanks!

I consulted with Dr Bernard Belholm. Dr. Nastaran Alavi and Dr Mark Kohout. Out of the 3, I went with Dr Kohout. However I have heard that Tavakoli and Miroshnik are amazing too.

Thanks Brittaz, Ill check those surgeons out!!

Hi Girls, can't believe i've only just found this forum!! I had breast implants with Dr Beldholm last Friday and I'm sooooo happy!! Him and his surgery were really helpful and everything has gone exactly how they said it would! Newcastle was a little bit cheaper than Maitland Hospital, but Dr Beldholm operates out of both hospitals, so it wasn't an issue for me. I'm pretty sure he's in Sydney as well. I had the furry implants, 300cc. I'm still a little bit swollen but have had no bruising which I think is because of the 'rapid recovery' technique he talks about. Couldn't be happier - he's a clever man!

Sorry to hear you didn't follow through with him. Hope you are happy with the surgeon you chose.

Any tips I need to know about? I'm back at work Monday and don't want anyone to know!! : \
