Trying for a baby after my BA

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies! :)

Wanting your thoughts and any experiences on trying to fall pregnant after surgery.... my BA is in September and me and partner want to try and start a family soon after :) My surgeon says ill be able to breast fed still which im stoked about  I have worries about my boobs getting massive during pregnancy and then shrinking again and seeing the implants?? my boobs are quite small now. Im thinking they will give me more of a natural look having them done before a baby.... if you know what i mean less tight and fake like? we have been trying for a bub for 8 months and now i just feel like its nerver gonna happen! so i booked my boobs in, so figure we will start trying again after.

Love to hear some thoughts :D xx

Oh no I might get shot for my option but I wouldn't get a ba than get pregnant! I would have your kiddies first reason being my friend had her boobs done than she had 2 kids and when pregnant feeding or not your boobs will get bigger than shrink and than you end up with saggy boobs to we're you need another ba like what she had to do.. Getting pregnant you will get free big boobies for 9months :-)

If you want boobs you want boobs but if I were actively trying at present I would also hold off as from what I have read about the girls with babies on here their boobs have really taken a hammering post baby and that is why they got their BA. You may risk needing a revision within a year or 2 after baby has weaned. Have you gotten a referral to a fertility specialist? there are drugs you can be on to assist with ovulation/implantation x

We have both been tested and are fertile so its just a waiting game i guess. atm im refraining from sex as i dont want to fall pregnant before my BA. sooooo i dont know what to do... i feel like just actively trying again...yet i don't! haha im torn :/ i wouldnt mind if i had to have a revision down the track :) i could always get a bit bigger to fill out the stretched skin etc.... i didnt realise trying for a baby was such hard work and that it took so dayum long hahaha :(

Hi myssie I've got mates with big implants who've had babies after them and their boobs looks good still and they say they feel better now - more natural and my plastic surgeon said I should be fine after having babies - we are trying at the end of the year. My ps said if anything I'd need a mini lift but my mum and sister boons went back to normal after they breast fed - mum had five kids and my sister 4 so hopefully my natural breast tissue is as good as theirs. At the end of the day everyone's body reacts differently you just have to hope for the best. I didn't wait for my new ones because I needed revision and was in pain but everyone will need a upgrade or new implants at some stage anyway and if you've been trying for babies for awhile already I'd just get them done xx

I'm sure it will be one of these things were u buy something and the next day it goes on sale or waiting for a bus light a ciggy and the bus comes (not that I smoke lol) you will get your boobies than fall pregnant just out of curiosity if you get pregnant before your ba do you get a full refund surly the dr wouldn't operate on a pregnant woman would they?

oooh this is what i wanted to hear! haha :D that's what im hoping for Inde, that they will feel more natural and sit better afterwards, and since i have been trying for a while and am frustrated by it, i figure get them done now and try again afterwards :) i have a feeling if we tried now til September it wouldnt happen anyways. I do not know if i would get my deposit back if i was to fall pregnant? maybe i would? i would hope so! yet my surgeon said i would loose it if i wanted to change the date...but it would be different like if i had the flu? Diamonds your so right!! maybe after my surgery my man wont be able to keep his hands off me and i will get preggers from having sex 5 times a day haha

Hi myssie, I have never had big boobs and have always said once I finished having kids i would get them done. Well im finished and got them done and am over the moon that they will stay like this for a while. I was a b cup before kids and after kids a very very deflated a cup. I lost all upper pole and am glad I waited. I have had 3 kids and it took me 3.5 years to fsll pregnant with baby no 1 so I know how your feeling. If you can afford to have a revision after kids if they change than go for it now. Good luck and yes go see a fertility dr.

Hey Hun. First of all if u want boobs now, then u get boobs now. But in my personal experience I'm so glad I waited till after I had kids, I didn't breastfeed any of my 3 children and I only put on 12kgs during all 3 pregnancies but my breast still copped it!!! I had 3 kids in 2.5years so if u were like me and waited, u could potentially be finished having children and be able to have ur surgery only 2.5years from now. I have been left so deflated just from the pregnancies. My advice would be to wait, and that is only because I would want u to have the best outcome possible :) especially seeing as though u are wanting to fall pregnant ASAP. The difference between yourself and the other girls on here who have all had their BA before children, is that they (mostly anyway) were not planning on having children so soon after their surgeries-they still had time between their BA and falling pregnant to enjoy their new assets. Ultimately it's 100% your decison, us woman are stubborn so when we set out mind to something we don't tend to change our minds lol, but if u were one of my closest and dearest friends my advice would be to wait.Best of luck in falling pregnant too :) x

I'm off to an ivf specialist tomorrow... The problem isn't with me, its with my hubby and his body building days if u get my drift...I had my son when I was 21 - and have never ever been on the pill or had any contraceptive and 8 years on I have never fallen pregnant.... And I long for another child, so have taken the emotional decision of heading down the ivf track...Mind you - my BA was only 7 weeks ago and my boobs will not stop me from having a baby.... Don- what medication can help with implantation??!

Personally I would not start trying until 6 months post ba as there are so many changes that happen after surgery. Some women even have changes upto 12 months post op. I gained 3 cup sizes during pregnancy and I had already gained a full cup size at around 4 or 5 weeks pregnant. I really wanted a redo prior to falling pregnant as I really want round implants but I decided to wait as it would have been a waste of money if I needed a redo post pregnancy (which I do). I have lost the upper pole that I did have and they have also dropped which I am not happy about. I'm now waiting to get to my goal weight as that is what my surgeon recommends and it will be at least October if not later by the time I get there. I understand wanting boobs I really do but what if you are unhappy post pregnancy and need a redo so soon after? It's your decision though but implants or not pregnancy really changes boobs. I'm not against having a ba before kids but I do think it's best to wait in your case not only because of the changes that happen post op but also because you have just had surgery and should give your body time to recover from that as pregnancy really does take a toll on the body. This is just my opinion though and really it all depends on what you want as well as what your surgeon recommends. Good luck whatever you decide to do.

I'm not too sure exactly of the meds but I'm sure your IVF specialist will talk to you about it but I thought progesterone was useful in thickening the lining of the uterus to make it more inviting and sticky for the egg. However love my knowledge on pregnancy and is very very very limited so I could be way off! I know clomid is the one they give to help regulate ovulation.

I have friends who had their BA before kids and after they breastfed their boobs still look great, nice and natural. I think it would be like Murphy's law, book your BA and then get pregnant lol. I say to go for it. Breast feeding ruined my boobs but that's because they didn't have anything filling them when I finished. If you need a revision, then you get one, as dona says its a good chance to upgrade.

Thanks don- I will be interested to see what options I'm given...But since the problem lies with my man, I'm hoping I don't have to take clomid...Once I know what avenue I can take I will weigh up my options over the next few months....

Rachel is your man on Zinc? or Menevit? Selenium is also vital to spermies health :) all the best with your IVF journey, we need that as well if nothing happens soon :( Been to a fertility specialist as well, medicare offer a good rebate now so its not as expensive as it used to be years ago. Thanks Jess! i do have faith that they will be okay after a bub, and yes! if not then a revision isnt a bad thing ;D x
