After more than four decades of a rhinoplasty that left my nose too short, small and pointed I decided to see if anything could be done. I have to say, I was not hopefull because there wasn't much to work with. I did some research and decided to book a consultation with on Dr Kein Ha. He explained that he could take some of my rib and use it to build up my nose and he showed me computer images of his hoped for results. I felt that any improvement was good and booked in for the revision rhinoplasty for the end of July. As soon as the cast was removed I could see that the improvement was going to be beyond my expectations. Dr Ha saw me regularly for the first month after the operation and he is just such a great person as well as a genius nose artist. I think there are four top revision surgeons in the world of whom I am aware and Dr Ha is up there with them. I am beyond happy with the results. My nose finally suits my face and looks natural (although it looks a bit red because I have been on holidays). Most of the swelling has subsided now. The picture is 10 weeks after Dr Ha worked his magic.
I had Rhinoplasty by an accredited Adelaide plastic surgeon 6 years ago to decrease the width of a slightly bulbous nasal tip. The result of the surgery however was extremely disappointing as I was left with very uneven nostrils (pointing in different directions) and a deformed nasal bridge. The doctor responsible for the surgery advised me the deformities were all in my head and his work (all 45 minutes it took him) was fine. I met with Dr Kein Ha in his North Adelaide office and we discussed my previous surgery and the deformities and breathing issues I had been left with because of my previous botched surgery. Dr Ha examined my nose and gave me a breathing test, which showed I was hardly getting any air through my nose because of the internal damage to my nose. Dr Ha also commented that he was very upset that my nose (both the inside and outside) had been left in such a horrendous condition. I found Dr Ha very empathetic and was immediately put at ease talking to him, something I had not experienced with my previous plastic surgeon. Dr Ha explained that I would need extensive surgery (Septoplasty and Rhinoplasty) to fix not only the outward appearance of my nose, but also, he would need to rebuild the inside of my nose with harvested rib and cartridge. I saw Dr Ha just before my operation and again his friendly, positive and kind manner put me at ease (I was extremely nervous after my first disastrous surgery). The operation took over 5 hours and to say I was a little sore when I woke up is an understatement, but by the next morning I was feeling better. Dr Ha saw me the following morning after the operation and saw me every week for the first 4 weeks to check on the healing of my nose. It’s now 6 weeks post my operation and I saw Dr Ha again a few days ago. We are both very happy with the result of the surgery and it is clear to see from the photos just how much better my nose looks already (first photo is a before and second photo is 2 weeks post my operation with Dr Ha). I am very grateful to have had Dr Ha operate on me and have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone looking for an extremely talented surgeon. I learnt the hard way that there is immeasurable differences in skill between plastic surgeons and to always look for one like Dr Ha who is without doubt the best in his field. Thank you Dr Ha.
Had a revision rhinoplasty and septoplasty with Dr Stephen Kleid and I am extremely happy with the results. He set reasonable and realistic expectations for what he thought he would be able to achieve with my revision and he has delivered a nose that is functional, that I can breathe out of, and that looks a lot better that what I previously had. Also I am happy with follow up care appointments to check on the healing progress.
In April this year I had a revision rhinoplasty performed by Dr Kleid, after my initial rhinoplasty in March 2013 (done by a Plastic Surgeon in Adelaide – where I reside) was unsuccessful. My nose collapsed, making breathing difficult, I still had a deviated septum and was left with shape problems and unevenness due to excess removal of the nasal dorsum and uneven removal of the tip (aka pollybeak). I spent a year researching to find another surgeon who could improve both the function and appearance of my nose and was fortunate to come across Dr Kleid through forums. I also had imaging done by Ann Emslie (Metamorphics) who was amazing, knows her stuff and whom also supported my decision to see Dr Kleid. It was evident from the get go that Dr Kleid was the right surgeon for me, and I made the decision at the initial consult to travel from Adelaide to have the surgery. The consultation was so thorough and I was not made to feel rushed. I had the opportunity to see some of his actual work, review my imaging together and find out what would be involved in the procedure. Dr Kleid was patient, honest, open and so genuine. He was not pushy nor did he display the ego that I had experienced in the past. It was evident he is a Master in this particular procedure, which gave me the utmost confidence and trust to proceed. I had an open rhinoplasty requiring grafts to rebuild my bridge, not something just any surgeon can and will do. I am still surprised at how well the procedure and recovery went, I had minimal discomfort and the surgery aftercare was excellent. The whole way through I knew I was in the absolute best hands I could be. Everyone from the ladies in the office to the staff at the hospital was so lovely, professional and very accommodating. Any questions I emailed were answered immediately by Dr Kleid, and his after care follow up is an indication of the pride he takes in his work and final results. 6 months on, and whilst I still have some swelling in the tip, I love the result so far, it is getting better each day as the final result is taking its shape. The only regret I have is that I did not find Dr Kleid earlier to do my initial rhinoplasty. If I can give any advice at all, it would be that rhinoplasty is not a procedure that can be done well by many, it requires so much more skill than the majority of the surgeons have. Do not base your choice of doctor on cost alone, whilst that is a consideration if you have to pay twice like I did, it could end up costing you a lot more. I highly recommend Dr Kleid and am happy to answer any questions via message.
I had a write a review to say how thrilled I am with Mark Ashton and his team. I have had a total of 3 procedures done with Mark and all have been a huge success. My upper eyelids have always caused me to feel self-conscious. My eyes have always been one of my better assets but sadly as I got older my eyelids were sagging more and more. After having a breast augmentation with Mark the previous year and being so thrilled with those results I decided to see him about my eyelids too. To say I am ecstatic with my results would be an understatement. No longer do people tell me I look tired and I can wear eye shadow for the first time since I was in my teens. The procedure itself was totally pain free and my recovery was extraordinary. I had minimal bruising and minor swelling that cleared up within a matter of weeks. I think what surprised me the most was how quickly my scar faded and basically disappeared....I can only credit Professors Ashtons skilled hand for my breezy recovery. I have not hesitation in recommending Mark Ashton for this procedure and can assure that you will be in the very best hands possible.
