Desperately needing help

My 16 year old daughter had a breast reduction 2 weeks ago in public system at Monash hospital Clayton. She has developed an infection in both breasts. I've rung the hospital to see if I can get her back in to see surgeons and they said not without referal. Went to dr to get referal she was no help really, gave us antibiotics and faxed through a referal. But so far the hospital hasn't contacted us and I have been ringing daily for 3 days. I feel like I'm hitting my head against a brick wall as no one will listen. My daughters now been off school for 3 weeks. I've taken all tape off as it was making it worse and put an antiseptic cream on to stop infection ( given to me by dr ) but I've no idea now whether I'm doing right or wrong. Desperately after suggestions. And I now very disappointed in the system. Would be so grateful for any advice it's early hours of morning and I can't sleep as I just don't have answers for my girl.

    Hi there,
I'm really sorry to learn about your daughter's situation. Looks like your daughter has some form of wound infection with at least some early superficial wound breakdown. I would expect the surgical team who looked after your daughter would be keen to know about the incidence. Given the difficult scenario, it'll be best to bring your daughter to attend the Emergency Department at the hospital to get the situation sorted out. They will have access to your daughter's record and hopefully can liaise with the surgical team directly bypassing all the logistical barriers.
Hope all goes well with your daughter in her ongoing recovery.
    Best wishes
