I do not have private health insurance. Can I pay for the procedure and private hospital stay myself?

I am needing breast lift and augmentation, tummy tuck + liposuction. I have a haematoma from an injury to my thigh in 2012 which has left me with a permanent lump on the outside of my thigh. I don't want a general surgeon to touch it because their is nerve pain from the injury and I don't want huge scars after. Please advise re paying for own surgery and accommodation and if you can do anything about the lump on my leg (caused by a full wheelie bin smashing into my leg) Thanks Debra

Hi DebraYour requests seem reasonable, but you will need a full examination before you can get definite answers. Yes, you can pay for the procedure and private hospital stay by yourself. I would strongly recommend private health insurance though. If you can sit out the waiting period you will save money in the long run on the hospital costs. Also, if any complications occur, then your surgeon will have the ability to look after you in the private system and keep any additional costs to a minimum.Good LuckDr Gavin Sandercoe
