My distended abdomen was persisting even after exercising for 2 years routinely at the gym. I was experiencing lower back pain and my posture was poor. I was so nervous and anxious. I never considered myself as the sort of person to seek out cosmetic type surgery and felt so self-conscious.
I nervously attended an initial consultation with a plastic surgeon but was told of the many areas of my body that would need work. I felt extremely deflated but did take something positive away from that visit. I have experienced extreme back pain for quite some time and the surgeon I saw that day explained the mechanics of the muscles of the abdomen and the back. Due to separation of the abdominal muscles, the result of multiple pregnancies, I was getting no assistance from these muscles. He also mentioned that no matter how much I was concentrating on toning the abdominal muscles it would be of no use until the separation was repaired.
I left that consultation feeling uneasy and decided to do some further research into other plastic surgeons and reviewed extensively their respective fellowships, memberships and experience. Dr Ellis Choy met all the criteria mentioned and so I made an appointment.
After visiting Dr Choy for a second opinion, I instantly felt at ease. I found him to be very professional in his approach whilst being reassuring and helpful. Subsequently I made my decision and scheduled to have abdominoplasty/tummy tuck surgery with Dr Choy as soon as practically possible.
I am now 3 months post op from my abdominoplasty and continue to be impressed with the results as each week passes. I really like my new shape but more importantly my back pain has improved and posture is excellent. I’m standing much more upright with more support from my wonderfully flat abdominal area.
Dr Choy was so professional and methodical about his approach from the first consult to follow ups. He had a sensitivity to my anxiety and self consciousness and always made time for me to ask questions. He approached my surgery with full focus and diligence which instilled confidence in me as a patient. I highly recommend Dr Choy and his team for anyone considering tummy tuck procedure.
