Hi Als....Glad the appointment went well. I have to agree with what Mark has said, he is right about being patient and I think you should use this time of healing and fluffing to go and buy a few nice bras and dress up those new boobies of yours. For the last 8 weeks they have been squished in unflattering crop tops and sports bras and I think once you get a good bra on you'll be amazed at how different they will look, try on lots of different styles too...even push up ones. Use it to your advantage, somewhere along the lines you were thinking of a conservative look and being the size you are you can use this to your advantage, you can hide them when you want and show them off with the right bra when you want to. I think and hope at the 6 month mark you will be at peace with your new boobs

Thanks to everyone for your feedback and advice:) I saw the surgeon today and yep - need to wait and be patient, give it a year:) Patience is so hard.

He wants to see me 3 months from today, which will be about 5 months post-op by then, and I shouldn't make any judgements/decisions etc til then.

He was actually really happy with them (& healing wise, so am I, he has done a great job as a surgeon). And he definitely gave me exactly what I asked him for - I didn't want big boobs, just some boobs:) So I don't blame him in any way, it was completely my decision to be so conservative. I just wish now I wasn't so conservative, but hindsight is a wonderful thing isn't it!!

I was pretty down about the assymettry of the healing also. What he showed me in his proper pre-op photos (not just my iPhone boob selfies) is that I had the same assymettry before. I just didn't obsess and stare at my boobs all the time, so I never noticed it.

It has helped talking him to get the reassurance that I'm healing really well, the scars are looking great and I was assymetrical before.

And now I think it really is time I stopped staring at my
Boobs in the mirror and stopped comparing my boobs. I'm allowed to wear underwire bras again now, so maybe wearing proper push up bras will change the way I look in my clothing and give me the different look I was going for.

Thanks again to everyone for sharing their stories and experiences. It's been so helpful and I appreciate it:). Xx

Hi ALS, I was devastated for months after my op to.
After the swelling went down is always disappointing.
But try not to stare at them every day. Let them heal and keep wearing the post op bra day and night.
I'm now super happy with my results but I probably hated them for 6 months.
They have totally changed shape , they have gone closer together and now look so much better, because now I have so much more shape and outline of my breasts cos all the swelling has gone.
I'm now 10 months and they are bigger than at 5 months. I almost think mine now look to big!!

Leave it a year. That's what my surgeon said . So glad I have as I wouldn't change them now.
Mine looked weird in the first 6-7months
But remember we obsess over them cos they are new
Try not to let them take over what you think about everyday it only made me unhappy for now no reason.

I'm sure ul love them, give it time

Oh chicka, i felt exactly the same! I was literally breaking down over it.. only thing that makes me feel better is my surgeon told me that i really could have only gone up 65cc extra.. prob wouldn't have made a huge difference. I have cried to my surgeon over my choices.. i too had a friend with implants that made me freak out on size.. she had 425cc..the night before my op i was actually enquiring about going smaller again! A revision is going to cost me the same.. i am going to wait til after kids now. To be honest the stressing out over it had decreased a lot with time and i really feel like at 3 months my implants projected more.. i think you still need to give it time. Hope you're ok xx

Fingers crossed the pain goes away quickly. I'm just relived it's not my boobs.

After my Ba I always had my massages done on my back ladies. They treated as if I was pregnant and would roll me to the side with pillow support. Maybe ask them to see if they can do that for you. I never really got use to massages on my tummy unless the bed was comfy. And bras are always the biggest issue I think. You will notice if its not supporting your tatas properly you will have bad back ache.

You will get use to this. My first Ba I struggled longer with back pain and only had 450 hp. But was conscious to always keep my back straight and when sitting to pop a pillow behind the arch of my lower back. This time I got 700cc my back felt it alot more. But again just did what I did last time and Ive become use to it already. Also a very supportive bra helps. I found I hated wearing strapless bras and bras that had thick supportive straps and a 3 hook clasp on the back helped me tremendously.

I wouldn't worry, on the Dr 90210 tv show they all use the bandages first and then a surgical bra.

Looking forward to going to a nice boutique bra shop! I'm only 5 weeks at the moment so going to wait till I can wear underwire and treat myself. No doubt I'll be a different size in a boutique shop. I'm not going to get too hung up on bra sizes and will just buy what size is comfiest in the style I like

Its definitely harder to get a proper measurment of ladies who dont know how to measure properly for ladies with implants. I think a natural 10E is much different to someone who has implants and is a 10E. And I also found while some brands you may be 1 size and another brand completely different. When I got measured 5 years ago after my first BA I had an older lady and she gave me like a 14c. I was a 6-8 so I knew this was totally off. Went to a store where the ladies specialize with ladies with implants and got given a 8-10E bra which fit perfect. You need good support or you end up with back issues. I strongly recommend getting sized up with stores that a more familiar with ladies that have implants. Or shop around and get sized at a few different places if you think you have been sized wrong.

Just a little funny share. I was a very very deflated 12B (honestly more like 12A since I didn't even fill my B cup halfway) pre op.

I had the marvelous Andrew Broadhurst give me 410cc HP Silimed (brazilian) implants 5,5 weeks ago and I decided to go and get measured. Went to bra's n things and she measured me at 12C. Uhm... I had bought a 14D target post op bra at 2,5 weeks and my tata's were bulging out within the week so no I don't think that's right haha!

Ended up walking out with 14DD fitting like a glove. Perfect. Happy!!!

(Ps tried some other ones that were feeling wayyy to tight at 14DD so every brand is different but don't get caught up on what they size they measure you at. Try some out and figure it out from there)

tannedbae reacted to mummytotwo in I spot a stretch mark!
No amount of topical creams will prevent or get rid of stretch marks. They are caused by stretching of the dermis. Topical creams are applied to the epidermis (skin we see) which is approx 30 rows thick. There is no way a topically applied cream can penetrate that far. How do i know? Ive studied cosmetic chemistry and skin biology.

I think we get so caught up with getting them done we forget what we actually tell our surgeons. I remember saying i didn't want massive boobs just for them to be fuller & fill out a bra. Thats exactly what i got. For the first 4 weeks i was so disappointment & wished i could have gone bigger. I soon changed my mind when i went bra shopping and went from a B to a E. I started to see slight changes in the next few weeks & realised i got what i asked for. I am happy with them & love them. I am only 3 months Post Op & have a lot of changes to see. Mine are Brazilians for atlas 12 months before they have finished fluffing & dropping.
Its so normal for us women to second guess our decisions & then regret them but i think you will get to a point with them & realise what was i thinking.
I think now that i have bigger boobs i could go even bigger but its not necessary! Just a bit of boob greed really

Thanks for that! I couldn't help it and went to the shops yesterday and got measure at a 10D-DD! Yay! So happy so I bought a few bras, couldn't help myself! And will go back in a month or so regardless. It was one of the best days of my life getting measured and buying bras that I'm filling out!! Sad but true, I am so so happy!!

I got measured at 8 weeks but they would only sell me wirefree bras as to not irritate my scars. Now at the 3 month mark I got measured again and have changed size completely. Get fitted but don't spend too much on bras at this stage as you'll have to buy more in another month or so xx

I got measured up around the 6 week mark, but have recently got measured again in the same bra shop and my size has changed. Maybe just buy one or two bras now and get measured again in a month or two Those post op bras are horrible and I couldn't wait to get out of mine.  1 week after surgery I changed to a maternity bra with a very low band so it didn't dig into my incisions, I checked with my surgeon that it would be ok to do so.  Always go by your surgeons post op instructions regarding bras etc. Its so exciting getting measured for the first time and shopping for new bigger bras.  Happy shopping :-)
