  1. Hello, I am looking into getting a tummy tuck and I am 55kgs. I'm finding it hard to find pictures and stories of women who've had the procedure who are petite and or very fit/toned. If there is anyone here, I'd love to hear from you and/or see pictures if you're willing to share them. Thank you
  2. Would love to see before and afters of your tummy tuck, how far post op you are and your scars if your willing to share them?
  3. Hi Ladies, Just curious, how long it take you to stand upright after having a tummy tuck? Im 11 PO and still struggling I know everyone is different and it takes time, and I'm in no rush.... (kinda) Im just so exhausted and my back has gone, so I'm really interested to see how others have progressed. Thanks in advance xx
  4. Reviews or comments about surgery with Dr Joseph Rizk please?
  5. Hi there. I am having a BA and TT in August. As a side sleeper, I'm a little nervous about this! Just wondering if anyone can provide further details about having to sleep upright? How long for? How many pillows behind you? What's the reason behind this? Thanks in advance.
  6. Hi everyone. I am really interested in getting a mummy makeover. (Tummy tuck, breast lift, implants, brazilian butt lift etc) I am a size 6 but I've been left with saggy breasts, and a stretched tummy. I would like to know if anyone has had a Mummy Makeover overseas with any of the combination surgeries above, and who they went to and how happy you are with the results. I am not interested in anything in Australia as I am looking for a more affordable solution that will get the same results, (and performed with the same amount of hygiene and expertise) Thanks!
  7. I'm 5'3 and was over 125kg by my early 20s. I'd been obese since my earliest childhood memory and stayed that way until 2010. Something finally clicked and I lost 60kg through fitness and nutrition, but I was left with a large pouch of loose skin on my tummy, flabby thighs, as well as a fatty mons pubis. I ignored it at first, but it started to get me down because I could never fully escape my years of obesity. It began to weigh me down both physically and mentally... Once I finished uni and got a job, I finally made the decision to go for a tummy tuck and lipo. There were three plastic surgeons in my area who could do the job, so I met with the first one who came highly recommended, Dr Richard Rahdon. From the moment I met him, I felt completely at ease. He was a true gentleman, his nurse was so lovely and gentle and his staff were welcoming. I felt totally comfortable with him as he explained the procedure in depth and answered all of my questions. I instantly trusted him. He appreciated my effort to lose the weight and gave me realistic options for fixing my tummy pouch and other areas. I asked him about a thigh lift and he didn't think it'd be worth it. I agreed because they weren't too bad. He suggested lipo which would get rid of some bulky inner thigh mass. I had no doubts in my mind - this man was going to be the surgeon I wanted to operate on me. I didn't even want to meet the other surgeons in my area. After this consult, I booked myself in for a December operation. I could hardly wait! On the day at 7am, I checked into St John of God private hospital, received my ID tags, then moved into the anaesthetic room. My wonderful surgeon met me in there and I wasn't nervous at all. He drew the markings on me and explained that he'd be making it look flat, proportionate and slimmer! I couldn't stop smiling. Dr Rahdon is so gentle and reassuring. I laid on the bed pre-op feeling completely relaxed. The anaethetist Dr Andrew Patrick was also very informative and kind, one minute we were talking about history and then next moment I woke up at 2.20pm! I was in my compression garment in a private room, very comfortable and assisted by attentive nurses. Dr Rahdon tightened everywhere. I couldn't believe my eyes! Every time I look down, I cry. He removed 1.6kg of skin and fat and sculpted it all beautifully. I spent 4 nights in hospital and Dr Rahdon checked on me at least 2-3 times a day. I have never received such genuine and dedicated care from a doctor before. He is truly an outstanding individual that goes above and beyond his duties to ensure that I was happy and healthy. I cannot recommend him highly enough!
  8. Hi everyone, I am a Brisbane based mum researching surgeons in Brisbane and the Gold Coast for a tummy tuck. So far I have had one consultation with Dr Kane, and I have 3 more booked in with Dr Terrance Scamp, Dr Paul Belt and Dr Lily Vrtick. I was wondering if any ladies who have had tummy tucks with these Drs, would be willing to share their experience and/or results? Or suggest any other Brisbane and Gold Coast Doctors? One of my main concerns is having a scar as low as possible, and preferably straight, & neat looking. Thanks so much!
  9. Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and planning on getting an abdominoplasty. *pics in the gallery* - just send me a friend request I'm looking for someone in the Geelong region - can anyone provide reviews and details of their experiences with particular surgeons? I had one consult but I've only been in hospital once in my life, so this is a huge deal for me... I am so scared but I want this more than anything. I have BUPA private health insurance so can anyone give me details about costs and getting money back? I'm 5'3 and was 125+kg at a young age. I lost a lot of weight through fitness and nutrition, but have been burdened with a large pouch and loose skin. It never used to bother me at first, but now I feel it weighs me down - both physically and mentally. While I'm there, I'm considering a thigh lift as well because I have loose skin there too. 10. Hi Ladies, I'm just hoping for some feedback on costs of your Tummy Tuck surgeries and length of stay needed in hospital. Financially I don't want to stay in hospital at all after the surgery...it's just so crazy expensive on top of an already expensive procedure. However, I do actually WANT to stay in hospital (away from the 3 kids) so I can recover properly. Champagne taste beer budget! I am yet to have an initial appointment with any Plastic Surgeons yet (I'm in Brisbane)... but I'm not sure if certain plastic surgeons use more expensive hospitals, or force you to stay in longer etc... I've been quoted roughly over the phone $19,000 inclusive of a 7 night stay. YIKES! I've got pretty bad diastasis recti up to my ribs, an an umbilical hernia so it won't be just a mini tummy tuck either. So would love to hear if you've seen a plastic surgeon and NOT stayed in for more than one night... Was it manageable? Has anyone managed to find a TT for under $13k including several nights in hospital in Brisbane? (after this ridiculous new 'abdominoplasy is not deemed medical' change from medicare?) Also, any feedback on Anthony Kane, Paul Belt, Alys Saylor or Susan O'Mahony? Thanks in advance!

  13. Hello - has anyone in Mackay had recent surgery with Dr. James Gaffield? I didn't think anyone in Mackay did this surgery & am pleased to find I was wrong, but the posts I've seen are from 2013. I'm looking to have a tummy tuck/abdominoplasty done - what were the costs involved (even if you didn't have this surgery)..was it done in a Mackay hospital..and do you like the results? 15. Full Tummy Tuck (Hip to Hip Scar, but lower with vertical scar) Full Muscle Repair from Above the Belly Button to Below Belly ButtonLong incision scar from hip to hip (cons)may have vertical scar if not enough skin laxityFull Tummy Tuck Scar (With No Vertical Scar but higher on the tummy) Same as Full Tummy Tuck except the incision placement is differentCons - Scar may be too high to be hidden by bikinis & in the case for people with not enough skin, it may result in heightening of the pubis mons/sunrising of the pubis hair resulting in unsightly bikini linesAbdominoplasty with an Umbilical Float/ Umbilical Float Tummy Tuck Mainly recommended for patients with little skin laxity but need full muscle repair from above belly button to below belly buttonCons - the umbilical stalk is cut with this technique & it can cause problems if a full tummy tuck is desired in futureThe biggest problem with Umbilical Float Tummy Tuck is that there is no going back as the attachments & blood supply that would allow the belly button to be maintained are sacrificed. What that means in the long run is that if you need or desire more tightening of the skin of the abdomen in the future, the belly button will continue to be displaced down towards your pelvis & can end up looking too low. A regular tummy tuck with the resultant scar from the transposing the belly button is understandably not desired but it would allow for future surgery & allow the belly button to stay in normal anatomical locationCons - The belly button may appear too low to be natural lookingPros - shorter scar with full muscle repair & also able to tighten the skin above the belly button (for those not too much skin laxity)Mini Tummy Tuck Belly Button is not cut & muscle repair only from belly button downwards to pubis area.Hybrid Tummy Tuck (R) - only suitable for patients with not too much skin laxity Pros - Belly Button Stalk not cut & muscles can be tighten from above belly buttonPros - incision is also shorter (not hip to hip)Endoscopic Tummy Tuck Pros - Full Muscle Repair through umbilicusCons - Zero Skin removalOnly suitable for people who need muscle plications but don't need excess skin removalNo Drain Tummy Tuck ?
  16. Many women benefit from tummy tuck procedures, but should be advised that it should not be used as a substitute to proper exercise and nutrition. Women who have experienced a large weight loss or who don't plan on becoming pregnant in the future are good candidates for this technique. Prime candidates are non-smokers, those in good health, and those who are experiencing stable weight.
  17. Hi, I am planning to have a breast reduction and abdominoplasty done at the same time? Has anyone else done this? I am a little worried about the time I will spend under anaesthetic.
  18. Hi I am new to this forum and just thought I would share my TT and lipo story with you as I am now one year post TT surgery. I had my procedure done with Dr Suchart at Bangkok International Hospital. Overall I was very happy with the work and the care. I ended up staying in hospital 4 nights as the surgery was much greater than I had anticipated. Originally when i had sent Dr Suchart my pictures he said he would be able to perform lipo on me, but when we met face to face and he saw the amount of abdominal fat I needed removed, he said a full tummy tuck was the only way! I had come all the way from Aus and I had 12 hours to make a decision!!!!!!!!!!!!! He did not pressure me in the slightest. He was polite, direct and honest. I have always found him to be very pleasant, and at times brief - but I guess surgeons aren't renowned for their chattiness. He showed me pics of his previous work and all were good ( obviously he wouldn't have shown me any bad ones.) I went back to my hotel that night and had 12 hours to decide. I relied solely on my intuition and decided to do it. I do not regret it. So it was a much bigger process than I had prepared for and as I was all alone, 4 days in hospital was needed- for the first 3 days I had a catheter and needed help going to the toilet. It was all really intense. By day 4 I was feeling better. I had to keep the drainage tubes in 10 days and having them taken out was the most painful part of the whole procedure. from memory I was given the OK to go home day 12 post op. Now a year later, I have returned to have the dog ears removed and my navel remade as it had become too small in the healing process. He did these under local in the outpatient clinic. The needles for the procedure hurt, but overall it was bearable. It means the scar has been extended a little on either side. As far as recovery goes- my abdominal muscles are REALLY tight under my skin, and I have found it a little difficult to do things like forward bends and shoulder stands in yoga ever since. I gained 7 kgs after the surgery and some of it DID go back to places where I had lipo - so the myth that it doesn't go back is A MYTH - although there was less of it. I gained a lot around my face and upper body which was new. I have since lost the 7 kg naturally - but I got a bit lazy with my diet- looking down at my flat tummy only to be surprised at the amount of back fat I had gained instead. In other news, my periods became really wonky for the past year and my breasts grew about a cup size. My hunch is that hormones are deeply affected by such a procedure. Checking current prices at Bangkok International - things have increased A LOT in a year. After the flight, the accom at Amari nearby and the time off work it was kinda pricey - but the same procedure I had has increased by around $3000 AUD from last year. Hope this helps some of you in your decision making process. :-)
  19. Hi ladies : ) Ive been stalking this website for a while for info. But haven't found much on two surgeons that my gp has referred me to. I'm looking to get a tt, muscle repair, tummy lipo, and maybe a breast lift. Depending on the cost of it all. Like most people here my beautiful 10 and 7 pound kids (plus that pesky gravity) are to blame for my figure Lol : ) at this stage I have a referral for dr Anthony Kane. And dr Dan Kennedy. I haven't been to the first consults yet. Could any one with previous experience with either of these two doctors please let me know the average price they quote, overall results. Or should I ask my go to write one to completely different surgeons??? ta muchly ladies : ) ps. Please excuse any typos etc. multitasking and parenting a rowdy 2 & 6 year old here!
  20. Hi All. Well I finally had my tummy tuck yesterday so will start to write about my experience. Not sure if I make it all in one go becos I get tired & typing on an iPhone is annoying. So here goes: Day 1: Had to be at the hospital by 10. Surgery was scheduled for 11. But my surgeon fell behind. Anyway by about 12.30 I got called in to prep, my awesome surgeon came & had a chat. I was surprisingly calm. He got his texter out & marked where my scar will be. Talked to me about pain relief & asked if I would like a catheter afterwards so I wouldn't have to strain myself using a bedpan. Yes please! He then took photos of my tummy & said my tummy muscles were pretty bad... "You look about 5 months pregnant" he said. Yeah helloooo that's why I'm here! Hee hee. He said be prepared for quite a bit of pain because of that. The anethesist came too, talked to me about my history etc.. Anyway I was put to sleep finally at around 1.30pm. I remember looking at a clock in recovery saying 5.00? Wow, I was shocked it took so long.... (Will save now. Don't want to loose everything!)
  21. Mother's guilt is setting in big time here. I'm leaving this Thursday and have to stay till the 8 th March. I ve got 2 girls 6 & 3 and a little boy 17 months. I'm pretty sure the older two will be ok but I worry about my little man. He s pretty clingy and has never spent a night without me there. I just need some reassurance. If you have kids of similar ages... Please tell me they barely noticed you were gone! Did you Skype every day or did that make it worse?
  22. I would just like to start off saying that I started my experience just after the explosion on the forums about the lack of service from GHT. To be honest this concerned me a LOT however I had paid and was left little option except grin and bare it!!! Well to my surprise the experience was AMAZING, LIFE CHANGING, TOUCHING, PERSONALISED..............and so on! I had Rhinoplasty and a BA and could not praise them enough, that Patient Care Team were little god sends to me and wanted to pack them up and bring them home. I made several friends that I will keep forever and trust me in the end I was glad my husband never came, it was like a gils trip away LOL Well my experience didn't end there, a few months ago I went back for a TT and Lipo. Again the service was excellent and it was like going away to stay with family! To give you an idea of what I'm talking about at admission on of the PCT said they would bring me some yoghurt up tomorrow, I was a little confused and asked why, her reply was she remembered I didnt like the hospital yoghurt!!! 6 months later and probably countless patients later she remembered about the yoghurt?? I didnt even remember LOL This was just one of many sweet things that I could point out about this company and I have wanted to write a post for ages about how they have pulled their socks up from the up roar but just had never got around to it!! So in response to the negative reviews I just want to say that there are many POSITIVE ones and to please make the call and find out for yourself!! I hope you all have a safe and wonderful experience like I have (twice) and get the results you desire, because in the end that's what it's all about xox
  23. Hi everyone. Im a newbie and I was wanting to get a TT. I was hoping to go to Thailand, preferably Bangkok and preferably Bumrungrad with Dr preeyaphas (Dr P). I have researched to death and read nearly everybody's fab threads which have given me extra ordinary insight to what I am to expect. Therefore, thank you all so much for sharing. I was wanting to just go through the Hospital and do all other requirements like flights, accom etc my self - instead of going through an agency like Thaimakeovers etc. There seems to be enough back up if I go this way and I like the flexibility of me organising most things. My question is this. Whom here has done it this way? And how did you feel about it? - you know were there any problems going it alone etc. I would consider Phukett though I cannot find enough information about TT doctors there (most posts are about BA's) so was not confident enough to book through this hospital. Therefore this is another question I have - does anyone recommend a TT doctor in Phukett? Thank you all for helping me throughout my research. Although you all did not know it you have been extremely valuable to my research.
  24. well I went for my gp consult today to get a referal for abdominoplasty on the public system (waiting list) and was hoping to get some kind of answer if I was even eligable. I ended up getting a referal to see the doctor I wanted but she has put consult for apronectomy NOT abdominoplasty, So all in all I have left confused, should it say lipectomy? abdominoplasty or should it say evaluation is needed for type of surgery? and after all of this I still don't know if I'm eligible. Is it up to my GP to evaluate eligibility for waiting list "medicare health care covered surgery" or is it upto the plastic surgeon to say? I thought I needed a GP referal to get rebates/coverage for surgey. sigh. sorry if long winded or confusing. I just really want some light shed on this I am starting to fret. anyone with ANY input please comment.
  25. Hi there, This is my first post, so not sure I'm in the write spot or doing it correctly! I had my first consult with Dr Michael Richards about TT and was wondering if anyone else has used him with success? He seems very nice, professional and I was referred to him by my GP ( whom I trust). But I guess knowing someone who has used him would be reassuring? What is costing like generally for a TT in Sydney? Also I wondered if anyone has had liquid lipo? Found that while I was madly searching the net for info. Thanks in advance, Chezzi
