  1. I'm 5'3 and was over 125kg by my early 20s. I'd been obese since my earliest childhood memory and stayed that way until 2010. Something finally clicked and I lost 60kg through fitness and nutrition, but I was left with a large pouch of loose skin on my tummy, flabby thighs, as well as a fatty mons pubis. I ignored it at first, but it started to get me down because I could never fully escape my years of obesity. It began to weigh me down both physically and mentally... Once I finished uni and got a job, I finally made the decision to go for a tummy tuck and lipo. There were three plastic surgeons in my area who could do the job, so I met with the first one who came highly recommended, Dr Richard Rahdon. From the moment I met him, I felt completely at ease. He was a true gentleman, his nurse was so lovely and gentle and his staff were welcoming. I felt totally comfortable with him as he explained the procedure in depth and answered all of my questions. I instantly trusted him. He appreciated my effort to lose the weight and gave me realistic options for fixing my tummy pouch and other areas. I asked him about a thigh lift and he didn't think it'd be worth it. I agreed because they weren't too bad. He suggested lipo which would get rid of some bulky inner thigh mass. I had no doubts in my mind - this man was going to be the surgeon I wanted to operate on me. I didn't even want to meet the other surgeons in my area. After this consult, I booked myself in for a December operation. I could hardly wait! On the day at 7am, I checked into St John of God private hospital, received my ID tags, then moved into the anaesthetic room. My wonderful surgeon met me in there and I wasn't nervous at all. He drew the markings on me and explained that he'd be making it look flat, proportionate and slimmer! I couldn't stop smiling. Dr Rahdon is so gentle and reassuring. I laid on the bed pre-op feeling completely relaxed. The anaethetist Dr Andrew Patrick was also very informative and kind, one minute we were talking about history and then next moment I woke up at 2.20pm! I was in my compression garment in a private room, very comfortable and assisted by attentive nurses. Dr Rahdon tightened everywhere. I couldn't believe my eyes! Every time I look down, I cry. He removed 1.6kg of skin and fat and sculpted it all beautifully. I spent 4 nights in hospital and Dr Rahdon checked on me at least 2-3 times a day. I have never received such genuine and dedicated care from a doctor before. He is truly an outstanding individual that goes above and beyond his duties to ensure that I was happy and healthy. I cannot recommend him highly enough!
  2. Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and planning on getting an abdominoplasty. *pics in the gallery* - just send me a friend request I'm looking for someone in the Geelong region - can anyone provide reviews and details of their experiences with particular surgeons? I had one consult but I've only been in hospital once in my life, so this is a huge deal for me... I am so scared but I want this more than anything. I have BUPA private health insurance so can anyone give me details about costs and getting money back? I'm 5'3 and was 125+kg at a young age. I lost a lot of weight through fitness and nutrition, but have been burdened with a large pouch and loose skin. It never used to bother me at first, but now I feel it weighs me down - both physically and mentally. While I'm there, I'm considering a thigh lift as well because I have loose skin there too. 3. On Wednesday I had a consult with Mr Richard Rahdon of Body Recon in Geelong to discuss my breast reduction/lift. He took photos and measurements (nipples would sit at 22cm from I think larynx LOL) and discussed the procedure and what's involved etc. I'm currently wear anywhere between DD/DDD/E/F, depends on the bra (current bra is 12F). I said I didn't want to go too small, as it just wouldn't look right. I'd prefer to be a D cup, much easier to buy bras in that size. I don't think I could get away with a C. It'll be a day procedure and if I want, I can stay overnight, then again, depends how I react to everything. I'm now awaiting a quote. If I proceed, I can be done at the end of May or sometime in July. I did see Niamh Corduff 3 years ago, but she has since retired and her quote was just under $8000 for everything (surgeon, anaesthetist, hospital etc). I'm excited yet scared at the same time. What if I don't like the new shape?
  4. Hi lovely ladies, I had my surgery performed by Dr Richard Rahdon at BodyRecon in Geelong on 26th June 2014, Dr Richard Rahdon and his team at BodyRecon and St. John of God Private Hospital were amazing, I'd like to share my experience with everyone! My Boobies Dreams I've wanted bigger breasts since I was in my teens, I've tried and spent thousand of dollars on many breast enhancement products on the market from breast enlargement tapes, creams, serums, pills, masks, exercise, breast massage machine, special breast massage techniques etc etc, you name it all, nothing works, finally I gave up...Well, the only natural breast enlargement worked for me was after I gave birth to my daughter, my boobs were filled up with milk, they gone up from an A to D, they were absolutely amazing and I was so in love with them, but I didn't breastfeed, so my big boobs disappeared in a short few weeks My Boobies Journey Begins I've thought about getting breast implants for many years since I became a mother, but I was scared to go ahead with the surgery until a year ago I've heard some amazing stories from one of my family friends who have had her BA over Thailand, she had an amazing result, she told me how happy and confident she is after the BA, her story has inspired me and encouraged me to follow my dreams! Research Begins I've started my research since September 2013 then I came across this amazing forum, I have learnt so much about BA, after seeing many amazing results, I am confident that this is what I want it, I want to follow my dreams and make it happen, finally I have the courage to tell my husband that I want to have BA, it was difficult to deal with the disagreements, but he finally understand me and let me go ahead with the surgery. Looking for my Mr. Right Surgeon I had 3 consultations before I find my surgeon, they all gave me different suggestions, I was so confused and upset that none of them were what I was looking for, I was devastated not knowing how long it will take to find my surgeon, I've thought about going interstates but didn't like the idea of travelling interstates if anything happened. Due to family commitments, I've decided keep looking Melbourne surgeons, then "BAM" I saw one of the most amazing boobies from one of the lovely ladies on here, I did not hesitate to pick up the phone and make an appointment to see Dr. Richard Radon. 6 weeks past, I finally meet Richard, as soon as I meet him, I know this is it, he is my Mr. Right Surgeon, I booked my surgery date right away, woowhoo! Ok, I've booked my surgery since January, 5 months has gone fast, I returned Melbourne from the holiday, back on the forum, said hello to all the June ladies again, they all so lovely and welcoming, and I've found myself 2 boobies buddies, Nataliiee and Nadine, we counted down together My surgery was finally here, I had pre-op symptoms days before the surgery, I went crazy with my workout, I was stressed trying to get everything clean and disinfect, finally I've got everything done in time and ready for my surgery, YAY!!! Received a phone call from St. John of God Private Hospital and informed me that my hospital admission was 12:00 pm, I was allowed to have some light breakfast before 5:00 am. Surgery Day My surgery day has finally here, the excitement kept me awake all night, I got out of bed at 4:30 am, had my coffee and brekky before 5:00 am, made my daughter breakfast and packed her school lunch, I double checked my bag then off to shower, my husband and I dropped my daughter to school then off we went to Geelong YAY! We arrived Geelong at 11:15 am, we checked-in at the Mercure, the hotel room looked amazing, I took a few pictures and left our stuff in the room, then off we went, we walked to the hospital next door, arrived there at 11:45am, perfect timing! After I signed some paper work at the reception, a lovely nurse walked me and my husband to a lovely waiting room, she asked me some questions, took my blood pressure, gave me a couple of Panadols, measured my legs for the stockings, then she got me to change into the hospital gown while she was getting my stockings, she came back, sat me down on a comfy sofa chair, put the stockings and hospital tags on my arm and leg, then she put a lovely "bubble wrap" like thing that blows warm air on me to keep me warm, I was as calm as a cucumber 30 mins later, Richard came in to see how I was doing, then he drew on me and off he went. 1:00 pm, an anesthetist's nurse came in and took me to the pre-op ward and there I said goodbye to my wonderful husband. She lie me down on a warm hospital bed with electric blanket and warm bubble wrap to keep me warm, not long after my anesthetist came in to say hello, he asked me a few questions, went through some post op care with me, he then put a cannula on the back on my hand, then off he went...I was waited and waited, fell asleep for a bit, the nurse came in and said it shouldn't be too long, at 3:00 pm the anesthetist and the nurse finally came in, he put something in the cannula to keep me calm, then they pushed me to the operation theatre, I fast asleep few seconds after I got there, I didn't get the chance to taste of the G.A. and say goodnight lol............... Successful Surgery A nurse woke me up and asked how I was feeling, I said good, is it done? She went, 'Yes you are all done and how are you feeling?' I went, ' Yes I'm good, wow, that was quick! I had a dream too, I was at the Cold Play concert!' lol. I looked at the clock, it was 5:00 pm. My anesthetist came in to check how I was, I said I was feeling really good and I was at the Cold Play concert in my dreams and spewing I didn't get to finish the concert, he laughed and he said they were playing Cold Play in the theatre, lol (How funny was it) Not long after my wonderful husband came in and asked how I was doing, I told him about my Cold Play concert and how smooth my surgery went, I had no pain when I woke up, he can tell how happy I was as I was flat out smiling I can't believe my dream has came true! Richard came in to check my new babies, he said they were looking really good and I had 375cc, he made an appointment to see me the next day, then off he went. Then the lovely nurses came in had a chat with me and my husband, they gave us some delicious sandwiches and biscuits, my husband also had a black coffee, she explained all the post-op care, medications and instructions to us, then I was discharged a bit after 7:00 pm. We back to the hotel room, OMG, my lovely husband was so thoughtful and caring, he did some food shopping while I was in the hospital, he prepared some yummy cold meat and desserts in the fringe, I had some cold meat and treated myself with some yummy Jaffa, took some medication and lay down resting. Received some lovely messages from friends and one of Richard's nurses Leah to see how I went. My Post-Op and recovery experience First night Post-Op: My tummy felt very gassy, I was flat out got in & out of bed for pee over 20 times that night (My poor husband I kept him up all night as he had to help me up). My boobies wasn't feeling any pain at that point but I was uncomfortable, I had a roll between my cleavage to keep the implants separated, that felt horrible on top of my chest already felt tight. I was up all night, I couldn't sleep as like I was full of energy, I was busting to go to the toilet, but I didn't want to wake my husband up as he was so tired from helping me get up and down all night, so I held on till the sunrise. Day 1 Post-Op: My husband helped me up in the morning, OK, here came my very first morning boobs, OMG, it was so painful and intense, I was almost out of breath, it took me a good few minutes before I have the courage to put my feet down on the floor, I was ok walking around but boobies certainly felt more pressure, uncomfortable and sore. We had something to eat, I took some Panadols and Celebrax, then we walked across the road to see Richard. It was my first time to see my new boobies, OMG they looked huge but freakng Amazing, I fell in love with them straight away . They were so swollen, my lefty sat a bit higher and bigger than the righty, I have some bruises on my lefty due to I had more blood vessels on my lefty than usual. I had to keep the roll in my cleavage for few days that was so painful. Richard and I were happy, made an appointment to see Richard again at 2 week Post-op. I've purchased another post-op bra on the way home, on the way trip home I couldn't wait to come to the forum to share my experience with all the lovely ladies and also see how my 2 boobies buddies went with their surgery but the site was down Day 2 - Day 5 Post-Op: I was in a lot of pain, I couldn't move at all, my back and my bum were so sore from lying down on my back all the time. My tummy wasn't feeling good at all after the surgery, it was so gassy and noisy since the surgery but I didn't have any problem to go no.2 at all. Day 2, I had some boobies blues, my husband got me up in the morning, I went to the toilet, I was so sore everywhere, my face, my boobs and my tummy, I looked in the mirror, I couldn't believe how bloated I was, my tummy was so swollen and hurt so much to touch, I looked 4 months pregnant and gained 4 inches overnight I was so upset and couldn't get help. My pain got worse at the end of Day 2, so I started the Endone, I took Endone for 2 days to cope with the pain. Day 2 - Day 5 was very tough for me. Day 6 - Day 7 Post-Op: Still bloated but the pain was much more manageable, I only took Celebrax and Panadols. My chest still felt very tight and heavy, the roll in my cleavage gave me so much pain and discomfort, so I contacted Leah to see if I can take it out, she replied, I can leave it out from then, YAY! Day 8 - Day 9 Post-Op: Boobies always feel more tender and tight in the morning, but I was completely off the medication, no Celebrax, no Panadols. Day 8, my swelling on my tummy has gone down heaps, still a bit of pain, pressure and tightness. Day 9, I felt and am feeling amazing, I didn't have much pain, just a bit of tingling and mild pressure toward the end of the night. My tummy has flatten heaps, I am on my way to my pre-op tummy, YAY! Boobies felt so much lighter and more part of me, they have changed so much since Day 1, they are rounder, bigger and softer at Day 9 Post-Op, I love them more and more each day and I can't wait to see the final result. My recovery so-far: Day 1 - Day 5 was the hardest, I was in a lot of pain and so bloated, felt tired and sleepy all the time, I rest and slept on the couch most times, I got better and better each day, Day 8 onward, things got much better and easier, slowly return to normal activities. During my recovery, my husband has been wonderful, he was extremely supportive and caring, he stayed with me all night on the couch making sure I was ok (we have a big U-shape couch), he gave me medications when my alarm was on, he made me breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday, he called me to check if I was ok when he was at work, he took me to the hairdresser to get my hair washed and blow wave every second day after work, he did all the dishes and housework, I felt like a princess and the luckiest wife ever. I am extremely overwhelmed and appreciate for everything he has done for me, I can't ask for a better husband, thank you baby! Dr Richard Rahdon and his team are amazing! Thank you so much for reading my journey, I had such an amazing journey and result, I was well looked after from the start to finish, the post-op care was excellent, I highly recommend Dr Richard Rahdon and his team at Bodyrecon and St. John of God Hospital to anyone.
  5. **ESSAY ALERT** Hey girls! So I've been meaning to write a review for my BA experience for a while and I'm getting up to a month post op now so thought I'd get on with it! I can't find a review section for my surgeon but still wanted to write my experience in case it helps others whether they go with my surgeon or not!!So I had my surgery on 13th August 2015 at St John of God in Geelong and my surgeon was Dr Richard Rahdon. I wanted surgery because I lost a considerable amount of weight- around 42kgs- and the first place my weight went from was my boobs which was a bit devastating!! I am from England and here for a year but decided I wanted to be away from family when having my surgery and recovery as I don't want awkward questions or comments!I went to see Richard and explained I wanted my boobs back to the size they were. Richard was very understanding and happily answered all my questions, we talked about my options, tried on a few different sizers and I booked my surgery in! Then the wait began and it felt like forever until my surgery date!! I rang the clinic a few times asking different questions and I was always made to feel like my questions were very important and the staff were always happy to hear from me and chat to me. I decided to go with 550cc moderate plus over the muscle and mentor branded implants. I am very broad chested so they sit very nicely. Richard takes a few different sized implant on the day of your surgery in case you've changed your mind. And finally the wait was over and my surgery day was here! I was nervous but when I arrived at St John of God I was made to feel very comfortable. My partner came with me and we were given our own little waiting room. The nurse came and took my blood pressure and measured me for stockings and wrapped me up in a heated blanket so I was as comfortable as possible. She left us to watch TV and then after a while the anaesthetist came in and chatted to us about the procedure and asked if I had questions and then Richard came and measured me up and checked I was happy with size etc. after a little wait I was taken through and the anaesthetist gave me some 'G&T' and I was away with the fairies!!I woke up and I was absolutely pain free and very very happy (I think I was high on drugs and boobies) and I couldn't stop smiling. I went back to sleep for a bit and then woke and I was fed and given a drink and my meds and then went to the hotel we were staying in! My recovery has been really smooth so far and I'm really happy with my results. I can't wait to go get measured properly and buy some new bras (and clothes!).I can't recommend Richard and his team enough. All the ladies that work for him have been so friendly, lovely and professional. The hospital and my anaesthetist were great and I had a perfect experience. I am booked in with Richard in another couple of weeks where he will see me and I will have laser treatment for my scars. All in all I paid around $9000 (which was less than I'd anticipated for a PS) and I hope my review might help others considering Richard or BA in general. I am very grateful to this forum and you ladies as it has helped massively! Please feel free to check out my pics or ask me any questions. I love my boobies and I hope I haven't bored you to death with my essay! Xxx
