When do you take the sterile strips off the incisions?

Recommended Posts

Hey girls when's a good time to take off the sterile strips on my incisions? I peeled it back a little and got scared so put it back on there's a little bit of dried blood and I just wanna wash it... I shower everyday and they're not even starting to come off? I've got dissolvable stitches

Mine were to stay intact for 1 week.  I had lots of bleeding under 1 of them and called my ps about it, she told me not to change it as everything is sterile (including the blood), removing/changing it could compromise it.  So I left them and at my 1 wk post op appointment she changed them.

My second lot of waterproof strips got put on at my one week consultation.  I got told to leave them on for 2 weeks (or as long as they will stay).  It will be 2 weeks on Wednesday and they are still intact.  I'm a little scared to take them off lol.

Leave it alone darling, just let it fall of. There is NO NEED to take it off.

It will be taken care of by your medico, in his clinic.

Take care.
