What to wear for/to surgery?

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies

My surgery is tomorrow! 😄😄 (YAY!!)

I'm only going in for the day (no overnight stay) and wondering what I wear to the hospital or what everyone else has felt most comfortable in?

Thanks :)

I'm yet to have surgery but like to be organised so know what I'm wearing already!

I've planned to wear a loose fitting button up collared shirt with stretchy cotton shorts. That way I'm able to easily remove everything if I need to and I've allowed room for possible bloating and my new assets!

You must be so excited! Your day's almost here and tomorrow you'll be a new woman!

I'm usually so organised! but been crazy busy lately juggling 3 kids, work, sports and the silly season shananigans I just haven't had time to do anything haha.

I have a few button up tops but they're long sleeves so it may be too hot to wear those? I have some stretchy shorts so I will definitley get those ready.

I am very excited! I can't wait to be rid of these crappy boobs 😄😂

loose pants that are easy to get on. I came out looking 6 months pregnant from all the fluid. And a top that you can step into and wiggle up. I used a really stretchy singlet with a big neck hole. If I had gone a button up top I would have needed help to get dressed. The nurse put my post op bra on the rest I could do myself.

Anything loose and button up shirt is good idea. I didn't have much mobility in my arms so nurse and hubby had to dress me. Button up or zip front gives you good access for icing up!

I'm 8 days PO and still need to wear loose clothes coz of fluid retention- my tummy is huge 😞

Thanks ladies!

Oh gosh @LisiR I wonder how long the fluid retentions lasts 😣

I'm not sure how long it lasts but I'm still 3kgs heavier than pre op! I figure there's nearly 1kg in boobs but the rest is fluid! I've been drinking lots of water and eating lots of fruit & veg so hopefully it'll go away soon 😞
