Pixievibes
I've heard rumours that you can gain weight after getting breast implants.. like getting a flabby tummy. My friend said that your body compensates somehow (which I find odd and don't really believe). My Dad's cousin who is 45, also got hers done and says she has to work extra hard at the gym to stay the same. I am a typical pear shape, so I want to be evened out with breasts and don't want to get bigger anywhere else. I exercise 5-7 days a week and plan to continue this once I've recovered. Had this happened to anyone?
janeybaby
I put on a few kgs and lost muscle tone. The extra kgs was due to eating some bad food and probably eating more while bored and recovering. The loss in muscle tone was due to no gym for 6wks post BA. I've found it hard to get back to my old self though - but I'm just finding it hard to get my gym mojo back
OneDay
Im 6mths post op and yes I can't seem to loose the extra couple of Kg's I gained either - Mind you I love my food!! haha I have these amazing boobs, Im lucky to have good genes etc but my flabby tummy is driving me nuts... also can we add an extra 3kgs for the wieght of our boobs HAHAHA I mean if so well Im bloody perfect!!! ;o)
Lozz68
I am a little worried about this as well! but i think i will just try and eat well and get back into exercise as soon as possible. So far the idea of having amazing boobs has spurred me on to exercise way more and eat way better so that i have the body to match once all recovered so hopefully this determination will continue post op! I'm going to exercise harder than ever leading up to surgery, then plan on eating less while I'm too sore to exercise.

Angela82
lol I thought that I would be extra motivated leading up to my surgery but I think I'm somehow self sabotaging - I've lost motivation and have put on a good 5-6kg two months BEFORE my surgery! I'm getting back into it this week, otherwise Ill end up the size of a house by the time I've recovered enought to get back into exercise lol
blair08
Hi Angela I was a bit the same, I've said that I think I'm comfort eating because of underlying stress? Anyway I've got less than three weeks to go and I've been a little better in the last two weeks. Not really exercising though just eating better

I pretty much went from training 1-2 times every day to not training and eating loads more then I normally would. I've been heaps better this week and I'm finally feeling like I'm getting my mojo back
Bussogirl
OMG - I'm the same!!! I had a great exercise regime all planned out, the closer I got to my BA, I would work out get a hot body to match my new boobies! Well I'm 3 and half weeks out from getting my BA and haven't started yet lol Oh well, no one will be looking at my waist - just by boobs Bussogirl xxx
Pixievibes
Haha. I've been doing my normal regeime, except doing really light weights during the chest track in body pump, and doing tricep pushups when we do pushups. Doc said don't work your pecs as they will just be thicker and take longer to heal. Ok, I'm glad that there is no actual fact that your body naturally puts on fat after a BA.. so most of the people who gained weight just from no exercise. New girl
This was my biggest fear more so than the pain I would go thru!! We all have out thing don't we!! But I did my first official post surgery workout with my PT since my BA two weeks ago (it's ok I had Dr H's permission) there sooooo many exercises you can do that don't involve your upperbody. I did heal quickly though an have overs, but when you're feeling up to it post surgery ladies, I can post a post surgery workout for you. Also I don't diet as such or count calories but I do eat clean so I think that helps (I never deprieve myself of a treat but it's not all the time like I use to!!). I'm pretty sure I won't be able to walk tomorrow lol!!
blair08
Thanks Boobie mumma, that would be great!
chopper
hey pixievibes, Im not sure, I actually did the opposite of what I was probably supposed to but I tried to condition my body to deal with little activity before surgery. The day I went in I was at my usual weight, then every day since just keeps piling on. Its confusing, I did quit smoking prior to my surgery but had been quit for weeks and not a pound was giained. Then after surgery... bam. it feels like im full of fluid though. so iuve started taking some diuretics and drinking ALOT of water so ill keep u posted. xxx
Pixievibes
Hmm.. well it seems it just goes by the individual. I thought there may have been something the body naturally does that we can't control. I'll just hope for the best then! Yes Boobie Mumma, there are so many exercises you can do...I'm hoping to get back into it after several days. Walking, eliptical, cycling, lunges, squats, abs, bum. Good to hear you're back at the gym!
My time
That would be awesome I've manged 2 5 k runs but worried about weights lots of walking but I too have about 2 kgs that have crept up on me and I don't think my new boobs weigh 1kg each lol
MissCheree
I can already see how girls put on weight after BA, all I have done all day is check the cupboard and the fridge almost hourly.. Luckily I forgot to go shopping before surgery and didn't find too much in there lolI told myself today was the last day of eating bad! This is the time to eat clean to make up for all the inactivity! I'm hoping to be able to do some lower body workouts next week before all my hard work on my booty disappears :S If any of you have some secret post surgery work outs please share! My PT has had her boobs done and she specialises in training girls so when I get back to training with her I will let you all know
Shea83
Oh I am terrified of gaining weight after my surgery!! I tell myself I will eat super clean but who knows how i will feel and whether I'll follow through with it!! I hope I have the determination and will power to do it!! Pixievibes
I don't think that you can lose weight after BA.you should use a another way to reduce unwanted weight like eat a healthy diet and do a regular exercise.it's true that you will lose 5-6 kg after BA. This does not make any sense whatsoever.
coryPPS
Oh my.. why haven't I read this somewhere on the Internet? Is this some sort of side effect or this can only happen if you neglect your exercise regimen? I'm kinda of a sloth and I really don't like going to the gym and now I am afraid that this might happen to me... Waaaahhhh...
Pixievibes
Since my BA I have done three sessions at the gym just doing 15-20 minutes on the bike or cross trainer and lower body exercises, 2 short walks a day with my dog, a few more strenuous hilly walks..and today I did a body balance class. I am only 12 days post op, but I couldn't help myself. I did everything except the planks and the push up type moves. I felt fine.. I have been stretching my arms and chest a lot lately. I have crampy, sore muscle feelings in my arm pit and it feels good to stretch them. I hope this is doing good, not bad
2littleangels
Good on ya girl, I'm gonna be like you. I work out 9+ hours a week and the thought of not exercising frustrates me, so if there is anything i can do to exercise I'll be doing it. I think you've got it right doing walks and stretching. Keep me posted please on your recovery oh how big is your dog I dont think I'll be able to do that as mines a G Shepherd. Barely_There
Thank God it's not just me! I have become a sloth as well and have gained around 4kgs. I had worked very hard to loose weight and get trimmed up this time last year and had maintained it well by going to the gym regularly etc. But since the BA and not going to the gym I have gotten so out of shape again. Gained weight and my butt and stomach have grown to match my boobs! Was talking with hubby this morn and said this coming week I WILL get my butt back to the gym and start exercising again - esp as I'm paying my membership monthly! livelife
I was a gym junkie so I was planning to spend the entire first few weeks after the op walking all day to keep my fitness up. Im only day 3 post op and wondering how I will ever get back into exercise again with no pain! Exercise is the furthest thing on my mind at the moment! I couldn't even walk down the drievway when I tried today without my boobs hurting! Girls how long till that muscle-ache feeling in my boobs goes? I had overs so it's obviosely not my muscles hurting but that's the sore feeling I'm getting.
