Well ladies, had my surgery yesterday and on my way home now! And as you know, if uv read my story, I have struggled with my surgeon on occasion In the past! He came into my room this morning to check in with me and said all went fine, then handed me my little card with my implant info and I asked WHY he put bigger implants in then I asked for (asked for 430cc n he's put in 445cc, going from 390cc) and said was the closest he could get!? Then I asked how were my pip implants and very casually he says " oh yeah, both ruptured! What a mess!" (his words) OMG, maybe u should of listened to me back in August last yr!! So ova all this pip drama, I really hope most of it is behind me now! One piece of advice girls, if u r told no but feel that there is something wrong, don't take no for an answer! Most of the time u know ur body better then any1 !!!!!!! Xx

alliwantisboobs... thanks for the support, i couldnt get into an other surgeon b4 my op next wednesday for a second opinion! but i will be interested to see what he finds when he takes out the pip implants bcoz for the past 7months he has told me that they are in full tac and are ok, Had articles in the paper here and the next step is tv interview but dont really want to, but if he opens me up and finds that are ruptured/damaged then i will make noise bcoz then he has neglected!!! jsut want this hell to be over, cant sleep thinking abt surgery now that it is so close!! But best thing iv done is come on this forum, cant believe the amount of support and love ppl have for eachother and that im not alone it this all, my husband is super supportive and has gone above and beyond to help me through this but sometimes doesnt get it like some of you girls do!! So Thankyou all xxx

8 days till I'm PIP free!!!! Can't wait

OneDay I know what u mean,I always agreed with what my PS said and went with his decisions, but this time I'm a lil reserved! I currently have the PIP's and been through hell with them so this time round I'm just making sure I know all the facts! I think Silimed are a top choice for me but smooth not foam, and going from 390cc to 435cc round. Looking forward to it but just hate making 'big, medical' decisions!

Thanks for all your help, my PS has said he uses Silimed one but been thinking NAGOR sounds really good! Guess I'll just keep in researching and see what the dr has to say! X

Hi there, Thanks for all the support girls, definitely been a long battle! so mant time i think about it and it makes me really mad thinking im paying $1500 JUST TO HIM to do the op, them hospital, aneth, implants on top of that!! Im not a person that "bargins" or questions prices but i think i need to get over that and maybe speak up bcoz i have 2 other girlfriends that he has done in the past 6 months (same situations) and we all have different quotes! mine being the most $$$$$$ currently trying to get a second oppinion from another surgeon so see what he has to say!!! Thanks again for all the support, really appreciate it! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi there, Im a W.A. girl and currently have PIP implants and having them replaced in a few weeks but im stuggling to choose which new implants to go with?! My PS has said he now uses 'Silimed' smooth high profile but i have recently been told a few bad things about them, like some are linked to cancer because of the "foam" outer layer and that makes me a little nervous hearing that after everything iv been through with PIP! a few people have told me 'Nagor' implants are great and iv read good things about them in the uk, just wondering if they are used much here in Australia and what they are like???? Or if any1 can recommend better implants?? Thanks xx:)

Thanks so much, i have already been in contact with the hotline, news papers etc. Was thinking i should get a second opinion on my scans atleast and see what they say?! Im just wondering whether its worth wasting more time with these in me, one part of feels like they are getting away with too much and keep fighting but the other part of me wants to feel safe and well again and be done of this problem!!

Peace of mind?? I have had my implants since oct 07 and found out that they are pip implants july last yr by total fluke! was sitting in my surgeons office (there supporting a friend) and the receptionist recognised me and briefly told me about the "pip implant problem", she looked up my records and told me i have them! had a consult with my surgeon and explained all the pain/ discomfort id been having and sent me off for an ultrasound! the ultrasound report came back saying "suspicious rupture, leaking fluid". Went back to my surgeon and he told me that there was nothing wrong with them, they were fine, nothing to worry about but if i wanted to replace them for "peace of mind" then i could at a cost!! 6months later the pain is worse so my gp sent me for another ultrasound and same thing "Highly suspicious rupture in both, MRI recommended", but again he tells me that they are ok, no urgent action needed bcoz its not a clear rupture on the ultrasound and won’t send me for MRI bcoz that wont be much more help and too pricey! But he said lets replace them anyway if they are "concerning you" but at a huge cost out of my pocket!! So im now at a point where i have had enough of contradicting information from doctors, health departments and media that iv hav no choice but to pay the thousands of dollars and have them replace! I really cant believe how long this problem has gone on and the lack of help out there for the amount of women that are affected by this! Its not our fault yet we are being punished for it…........
