Hey girls! This is my first post; just looking for some advice on multiple things to do with the surgery. I've planned the BA at the beginning of my travels for at least 6 months. We're going to Thailand, Dubai, then travelling around Europe. I know and understand the recovery time and the process of a BA and will be taking time in Thailand and Dubai particularly to relax and recover for a few weeks to begin with and have a very supportive boyfriend to help me throughout. I've booked my BA with Dr. Veerawat in Phuket in February. From the online consultation, I've discovered my breasts are slightly tuberous. Surgical recommendation is that I have a tight and narrow lower pole and will require some internal scoring, dual plane placement, with teardrop implants. It also states that if I want more with my nipples he would suggest a donut lift. I've read that he tends to suggest this option to perfect the look quite often. Personally I think internal scoring with be enough. Has anyone had this experience? I'm just worried that my nipples with stretch and look bigger. Does this occur with a BA for people with slight/mild tuberous breasts quite often and is it possibly better to have a donut lift? My nipples are I guess relatively big considering the size of my breasts currently, yet my breasts are quite tiny. Does anyone suggest the Surgery Travel warranty with cosmeditour? Would love to hear any advice. X

Hi Ladies, Has anyone out there been told they have Tuberous breasts and/or have had them corrected? For as long as I can remember I’ve had weird looking breasts and last year a surgeon mentioned I may have Tuberous Breasts after him looking at photos. I have been doing my research a lot lately and have come across a few surgeons who fix this problem, Dr Tavakoli in Sydney and Dr Moradi in Sydney (Through CosMediTour). Dr Tavakoli is quite expensive though, I’ve been quoted $18,500 for a BA + Lift which is what was recommended after I completed an assessment form online with photos. Has anyone had a BA with CosMediTour, if so which Surgeon and how much did you pay? Was there Medicare attached to it? Hope someone one can help me out!

Hi All, Bit of a different post here - I have been absolutely blown away by the support network of this forum, especially having gone through my own battles and struggles with my boobs, I LOVE how everyone here is so kind to everyone! This support network and strength of women helping women is just wonderful to see. I’m a filmmaker and I'm actually about to make a short based on some pre BA struggles and experiences. Can't talk too much about it yet but we're hoping to get it into some major festivals worldwide and turn it into a feature film. There isn’t much by the way of short film funding, so I’m trying to self fund the film which will act as a proof of concept for the feature. Instead of crowd funding the usual way I've decided to create an apparel store as a way of showcasing the beauty of women with the celebration of our boobs. Its about embracing all boobs, no matter shape or size. Showcasing that we are not defined by them, but they are a part of our strong, powerful bodies & voices. All profits will go towards supporting an upcoming short film and in the future, will continue to help brining more authentic female stories to the big screen. Free to follow below and if you like, you're more than welcome to share. Thanks! El www.myboobsstore.com https://www.instagram.com/myboobsstore/

Hi ladies. I keep seeing so many positive experiences about surgery in Thailand. This has made me more confident that this is what I want to do. I was wondering if anyone with tuberous breasts can reccomend a good surgeon and also I need a tummy tuck however I don't think I will need to have the muscle repair. Has anyone just had the skin cut away? Thanks in advance ☺

Ok ladies…I’m finally feeling well enough to type up my surgery story. In preparation for surgery I’d stopped working my chest at the gym and was getting regular massages and physio to make sure my muscles weren’t tight. This become important later during my surgery! The night before surgery I was feeling pretty relaxed. I was lucky to have to work late so didn’t get home until around 8pm, which didn’t give me much time to think about my impending surgery! I had to fast from midnight, which food wise doesn’t bother me, but I HATE feeling thirsty! So I stayed awake as long as I could (around 11.30) drinking water. I crashed hard but woke up super early at 4.30. I’d already packed the car the night before as hubby took the car to work for nightshift and I’d arranged to meet him at his work & go to the hospital from there. I caught the train from my place to hubby’s work as we had to be at Bondi Junction Private Hospital by 8am. We arrived in Bondi just after 7, so asked Quest if we could park our car in their carpark early (we were staying at Quest the night after surgery just in case I had drains). Quest were great and allowed us to park the car. Hubby & I walked across the road to the coffee shop near the hospital, where I watched him drink coffee & eat breakfast (torture!) and where I also saw Dr M getting coffee for all his staff members. I took this as a good sign of the day ahead. We went into the hospital shortly before 8 where I did the usual paperwork, checked names, DOB etc etc. Then I was shown to my room and given my sexy surgery attire. Haha. I had 2 visits from the post op nurses, a visit from Dr Lee the anaesthetist (who was hilarious) and finally a visit from Dr M to mark me up ready for surgery. We all had a chat about Dr M’s beautiful car (hubby & I are car obsessed) and by this stage I was called in to theatre. I kissed hubby goodbye and told him I’d see him soon. A lovely theatre nurse walked me into the theatre where I was given one of those heavenly warmed beds. Ahhhhh. Dr Lee inserted my cannula (OWWWW) and gave me some meds to relax. Then I was off to lala land….. I have vague memories waking up to having my bandages changed for a post op bra. I also have vague memories of being wheeled back into my room. I was then helped to the toilet (apparently I’d had 3 litres of fluid during surgery!) and given possibly the most delicious sandwich and apple juice I’d ever eaten! Hahahaha. I had a few more visits from the nurses and they rang hubby to collect me (he’d managed an early check in at Quest and slept all through my surgery, bless). We sat and chatted for a while and I drank a heap of water to get my blood pressure stable. Dr M came in for a visit and said everything went smoothly and that because I had a nice thick piece of pec muscle he was able to put in the bigger implant (390!)!!! Hooray!!! I also ended up having drains which I thought would be bad, but it wasn’t a big deal in the end. Dr M gave me a quick look at my new boobs as he adjusted my bra and that’s when I cried with happiness. It wasn’t long after that we left the hospital. I can't tell you how wonderful Bondi Junction Private hospital staff were. I'd recommend them any day. I managed to sit up in bed and talk to hubby most of the first night as I was whacked out on pain meds. I sent heaps of text messages and watched tv, even managed some sushi for dinner. I received a call from Dr M’s nurse to see how I was feeling and she said she’d call in the morning. I fell asleep around 9pm. Hubby got up every 3 hours during the night to feed me meds, take me to the toilet and to empty and record my drains. I woke up quite sore the next day and had to ring Dr M’s office about my drains anyway. I had lost a fair bit of fluid in the night so i was told I may have to keep my drains in until Monday. So hubby & i decided to return home (bumps on the road DO hurt!). I received a call later in the day saying Dr M was happy for me to have my drains out that arvo, so around 4pm we drove back to Bondi to have them removed. It didn’t hurt at all and it was so nice having a bit more freedom. This was also the first time I got a decent look at my boobs. Holy wow. The nurse had said try not to have too much endone as it can make you consitpated. AT this point I don’t care and am having them every 3-5 hours as the pain is quite intense. I am also having panadol every 4 hours and valium before I want to sleep. Plus antibiotics etc etc. I’ve been taking coloxyl and senna but it’s yet to work…the last few nights I’ve been awake every 3 or so hours in pain so am taking whatever I can to alleviate it. Last night I had several dreams about my boobs being on fire! It was awful. I remember waking up crying to hubby at one point. I took more meds though which got me through the rest of the night. Showering and going to the toilet are an ordeal still for me. Hubby is great and is the best nurse. I think he’s secretly glad to be home ‘allowed’ to play the playstation and build lego in between looking after ‘his’ new puppies. Hahaha. I’m still really tired and sore at PO day 3. But I know it’s going to be worth it. Thanks for reading this far lovelies. I’ll update my albums as time goes on.

Hi, I am very new to all of this, so I'm sorry if this has already been discussed. I have consulted with Dr Hamish Farrow, for a mild-moderate tubular breast reconstruction. He has recommended Augment & Mastopexy. I don't know of anyone who has had this procedure and only knew of Dr Farrow as he was the reconstructive surgeon during my mums mastectomy. He did an amazing job on her however it was a very different procedure using her own tissue etc. Every medical professional my mum encountered after her surgery had extremely high praises for Dr Farrow as did my mum especially concerning his rapport, always making her feel extremely comfortable. I have read good things on the forum about Dr Farrow but nothing direct from a patient. I am quite confident in booking with him and didn't consider additional consultations until I read the forum where most people went for several consults. It seems Hamish Farrow, Mark Ashton, and Craig Rubenstien seem to be the 3 who do the reconstructive procedures. I have been approved by medicare and I was advised to take out Private Health Insurance however there is still a $7000 gap as medicare only cover $1500 of surgeons fees. My PHI cover implants and hospital and the recommended medicare fee. My PHI advised of their gap cover scheme but couldn't explain further other than if the Dr agrees I only have to pay $500 gap + hospital excess.. Does anyone have any experience with the medicare/PHI gap scheme side of things. Any info would be greatly appreciated

Hi guys! I got around to it and booked in consultations with doctors. I have seen two docs but am torn now about which is the best way to go. I have a consultation with a third doc but thats not till the end of May. The first Dr suggested a breast lift + tissue expansion and the second Dr said a tissue expansion would not be necessary as these are used in breast cancer patients mainly & they already have a broad/normal breast wall, whilst mine is VERY narrow and my breasts are very far apart! His suggestion was to do a lift and place in a small round implant. I was wondering if any girls here had any experience with tuberous breasts and could shed any light about what they had done to fix theirs? I'm so torn at the moment as to what would be the best method!!

Hi ladies, During my consult my PS said he will be using subfascial placement as I have enough tissue to cover the implant and it will push out my constricted boobies into a natural shape. Although I always thought that most of my 'chest' came from doing pec fly and I'm not so sure there is much tissue ontop of that - I can barely pinch anything! Not many ladies seem to have this placement and I was wondering if the recovery time/pain would be like. This placement goes under the connective tissue that surround the muscle, so I was wondering whether I should be stopping chest weights? Thanks !

Hi everyone! I am 21 years old and from Brisbane, Australia and turning 22 this year. I am quite certain I have the Tuberous Breast...But I've always been FAR too embarrassed to show anyone!! Not even doctors...no one!! Or family or boyfriends...its an off zone! I desperately want to get them fixed as over the years the look of them has made me very depressed..But I don't know the process of how to do this... Do I need to go the doctors first? I'm worried they won't know what it is and be disgusted.. They are something I really hate about myself... Do I just go to the Breast Surgeon to begin with?? I really don't know how to go about this? But I have saved up some money now to pay for the operation. Does going to breast surgeon cost money..just for like them to have a chat or something? I typed in google 'tuberous breasts brisbane' and a Dr Phillip Richardson came up? I may just email him now? I'm really lost on what to do and have no idea! I just want to feel better about this area of my body...Any help is appreciated!! TA!
