  1. Thanks for your suggestions. She just turned 40 a few months ago, so it's the last thing she expected when going for a mammogram (her mother was diagnosed in her 50's?). I had a mammogram last year prior to breast reduction and a tissue biopsy was taken, so all clear but still, it's scary when it happens to someone you know.
  2. I'd like to put together kinda of like a care pack for my friend who will be starting chemotherapy for breast cancer. Any suggestions on what I could put together to "keep her company" during treatment and post chemo etc. Like teas or trash mags etc?
  3. I'm just over a year post reduction and lift. Just wondering if anyone still wears a supportive-ish bra at night? Because I got used to wearing one post op, I'm still wearing the el cheapo version of an Ah Bra. Sleeping without it feels weird.
  4. I had a tummy tuck almost 3 years ago after losing 60kg. My surgeon said weight needs to be stable min 12 months before considering the TT. No point in having a TT then you lose more weight then need more surgery to remove the extra flabby skin. Pain wise? It was more of a discomfort really. I have pics on my blog if you want to see before, during surgery and after photos.
  5. I'm coming up to 9 months post breast reduction/lift. Every so often I get niggling pain in either breast, not related to TTOM. Not sure if nerves still repairing. I have my 12 month review in September. For those who have had a reduction, did you experience this kind of pain?
  6. I had reduction and lift three months ago, enough tissue to make them perky. I went from a 12F to 12 C/DD/DDD, depends on bra. See my post from earlier today. Other pics on my blog.
  7. Had my check up today, three months post BR/BL...and I'm wearing a 34DDD! WTF?!?!?! I said I bounce between a C and now DDD. Everything has healed as it should, scars are looking good and I'm still perky! Next review in 9 months, which will take me to one year post op . I'll update with braless photos later today. PS...I'm just rapt that I can still wear my Victoria's Secret bras.
  8. You need to think "what if this happens" or "what if that happens". Who is going to be around? Even just the simple things like getting dressed and showering can be difficult.
  9. Do not be home alone in at least the first week. You'll need help getting out of bed/hair, showering etc. First night home, my mum was "supervising me" whilst in the shower. I ended up passing out. Thankfully I didn't split my wounds but was readmitted as a precaution. I had my sister or mother wash my hair and the rest of me. I slept in bed but needed assistance in and out of bed. I was in hospital for 3 nights. How are you getting home? Who is going to drive you do and from your post op appointments? You won't be able to drive for 3-4 weeks as it'll be too much strain on the tummy. If you are driving and you are involved in an accident, its likely insurance will not cover you.
  10. Well nothing has happened on the drinks/date front since my initial post. Guess I'm just destined to be single forever :`(.
  11. I purchased and wore the Marena B11 bra for six weeks (https://marenagroup.com/b11-molded-cup-bra/) At night I'm wearing a K-Mart version of the Ah Bra. During the day, I'm now wearing Playtex Breathable Cool Wirefree Bra (18 hour one). Currently selling my B11, listed on eBay. Size 38E.
  12. Day 1: http://nessalosingit.blogspot.com.au/2016/08/day-1-post-bilateral-breast.html Day 2: http://nessalosingit.blogspot.com.au/2016/08/day-2-post-bbrbland-first-look.html Surgeon: Anthony McDonald, St John of God, Geelong.
  13. I'm booked for BBR/BL in three weeks time (yikes!) and apart from the Marena B11 bra I'm recommended to wear, although I was recommended to purchase two (which I can't afford), I was going to get the one bra and whilst that is being washed, wear a post surgery bra from Target (https://www.target.com.au/p/post-surgery-front-closure-wirefree-bra-style-t2189/51428655). Has anyone got this bra and if so, was it OK? My surgeon said he'd extend the cut, I guess you could say, outer breast under armpit (if that makes sense) to take out a bit of the bulge.
  14. Finally got my quote and I'm going to proceed with Anthony McDonald. 3 weeks and 5 days to go! Hoping my tax return will come through in time. I did apply for early release of super, but I have a feeling it'll be denied but if successful, it'll be too late to send paperwork through to my super to release it. BBR Quotes.xlsx
  15. Hi! Sorry just saw post now. Consult went well. Discussed procedure. I work in the medical field so pretty familiar with the process etc, plus I told him I saw Richard for a consult. I'm still tentatively booked for 18 August and with Richard 16 September. Only issue now is, mum is booked for carpal tunnel surgery with Anthony on 4 August. I wondering if I should delay or go with Richard, otherwise we will both be out of action. Still waiting for official quote but approx $4700 out of pocket vs $5000 with Richard. So official quote pending.
